Mr. Sub is the best place for free birthday food for your birthday, so I highly recommend signing up to their subscription/app for a yearly free sub, which is better than any other birthday deal in Strathroy. I love Mr. Sub. I prefer it to Subway but this Mr. Sub location on Dundas, near University is horrible. I ordered a foot long breaded spicy chicken on whole wheat. The bread was super stale and hard on the ends. I asked the person who made my sub how old the buns were and he refused to give me a correct answer. He tried to tell me they were from today which was a total lie. Also, my chicken was still frozen so I asked him if he even heated it. I pulled the chicken out of my sub and let him feel how cold it was. He offered to re-make me another sub but what's the point. I didn't want another stale bun so I asked for a refund. I don't recommend this Mr. Sub location. I thought it was going to better from the previous owners / management but it's still terrible as this location is cutting corners. read more

I was pretty hungry after a long day and noticed Mr Sub on my walk back home. After seeing these all around Toronto, I decided to give it a try. Much like it's popular namesake, the interior is simple with a few plastic chairs and sandwich bar at the front. The ingredients were fresh as I looked on what to order , however with limited vegetarian options in stock, I just opted for a plain cheese and salad sub. This chain seemed to have run out of a lot of options when I went, and it was a struggle to communicate with the staff who spoke little English. They had hardly any bread choices, no veggie patties and a few toppings had ran out. There's an assortment of sauces to add into your sub so definitely does cater for everyone's taste. However I do prefer it's competitors - the 6inch sub seemed smaller than the latter, and the bread seemed stale. Generally, the toppings didn't seem as tasty or fresh as the other as well. I didn't mean to compare, but it just wasn't enjoyable for me and I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

I am not a huge sub fan - in general, but I do like a good old school no-frills tuna sandwich - so Mr Sub seemed like a good choice. The service was friendly and fast. The location was spotlessly clean. the sub was a little light on tuna and heavy on the mayo. I liked the pannini press. read more

I am a huge fan of the Mr. Sub franchise and brand. I personally prefer it way more than Subway. This location however, every time I go in, feels like a struggle to get an order completed due to the sandwich making ladies' poor attentive listening skills and lack of customer service appreciation. In other words, this feels like ordering a sandwich in a prison cafeteria. Coupons, for some reason, are never valid here. This Mr. Sub is in a convenient location too. There aren't many Mr. Subs within the downtown area of Toronto. It's just a shame this one is run by a lousy owner and poor attitudes in their staff that I have stopped coming by here knowing just to strategically avoid terrible service. read more

We have always chosen Mr Sub over Subway but regrettably, this may have to change! Our Mr Sub location, for the 3rd time recently has run out of buns at least half hour to an hour before it's scheduled closing time of 8:00pm. I'm writing this review after leaving Mr. Sub at Eglinton Square in the food court and I'm extremely disappointed! I was not the only customer turned away during these recent visits. This is not good customer service and I don't appreciate being turned away with disappointment after making the trip to purchase a sub sandwich. If you are not interested in business and customer satisfaction is not a priority for this location, at the very least post your hours to close earlier since you consistently are not providing adequate service OR, have your staff cook enough buns to have available for purchase until closing!! read more

I don't mean to sound unpatriotic, really. And I wouldn't even call myself an enthusiast of that *other* place. But Mr. Sub is gangly and weird and unmistakably Canadian. You almost want to apologise with every bite. Mr. Submarine is the creation of a pair of Yorkville hippies around the centennial. I'll spare you the back story, but I'm sure it involves bellbottoms, and Trudeaumania, and weed. Some forty years later, Mr. Sub is still at it: making creepy breads in "small" and "large" and shredding lettuce so thin, it could work in Milan. Anyway: my sandwich guru (or whatever) does get points for reaching to the fridge to get a cold beverage. That's a nice touch. Obligatory Title Pun: Going DOWN. Menu Readability: Blah. It's been awhile since I've been here, so please excuse any antiquity that may surface in this review, but for someone who does not like Subway or Mr. Sub restaurants, this location is fantastic. For starters, it's very clean. The tables are kept wiped down and free of debris, and there are newspapers to read for customers. The chairs are also clean and fairly comfortable. Secondly, the staff. All very friendly and the service is fast. You order and have your food in under 5 minutes, even on the busiest day. They keep the line moving, all while being very friendly and courteous. Lastly, the bread. Actually fresh, not just called fresh. Only minus is the mushrooms are canned and a bit mushy, but it's kind of expected given the nature of the business. That's it. All in all a fantastic business. Worth the trip read more

If the Filipino lady serving me could have only cared more - to stop talking to her friend - while repeatedly asking me to repeat my order and listened to my while I kept correcting her while she made my order- I may have enjoyed my experience today. With the closure of the two Mr. Sub locations in the Church & Wellesley area of Toronto (both stores closed due to the pending demolition of the buildings they leased their space from; new high-rose condos will replace them), this is now the only Mr. Sub location located nearby. With modern decor and sizeable dining area, this is the nicest location I've been to ever. Located across the street from Toronto Police's 52nd Division, most patrons tend to be cops or health workers from nearby hospitals. Prices are a bit high for some sandwiches and coupon offers are extremely rare (unlike rival Subway), however as an American residing in Canada, I hands down prefer Mr. Sub over the competition. Service at this location is good and never had any complaints about it. Definitely will return back in the near future. read more

The staff here has been getting progressively more dire the last few times I've been here. Honestly if I did this at work I would have been fired the first week. I have been going to this location for almost 3 years now for its convenience and closeness, but the service is getting worse and worse. They usually only acknowledge you in order to take your order, don't smile and may or may not actually listen to what you are asking for. Service can be slow for such an unbusy restaurant. And today my change was placed on the counter almost behind the register instead of in my hand? I was not even offered a receipt and the employee who took my change left after placing the coins there. I always present the customer with their receipt and change into their hand, it's common courtesy that these employees cannot seem to grasp. The subway across the street is more expensive and less tasty but more worth it cause the employees are generally pretty chipper. read more
