Assorted Sub
Eula B.

Ordered Assorted Subs as a quick lunch for work. Ordered using a takeout app and it's pretty quick and efficient. My order was ready right away and the staff was nice welcoming me. For 9.47 it was a good amount of meat and lettuce in there in the 12 inch sub. Definitely coming back and ordering their other subs.

BellyBuster has been a staple on King street for a while - a good sandwich when you need it, at a fair price. The ingredients are fresh, the meats are solid, and the selection of condiments is vast. Personally, I don't love their whole wheat bread or beef, but the white bread and turkey are solid. For all the excellent sandwich spots in Toronto, I'd say this one's average - good enough for when you're craving, but never going to blow you away.

I had a late lunch today at The Belly Buster Submarines. There was a lot of hype about it when it opened five years ago. I can't believe it's been that long ago and amazingly this is the first time I've stopped in. I was hungry so ordered the large turkey bacon sub with white cheese, tomatoes and pickles and a Coke Zero. Though it was a hefty sub with a lot of meat, I found the bun to be dry and it didn't feel or taste fresh. I'd asked for it to be microwaved and it was barely warm. So I asked for the second half to be microwaved again and it was better. The two women working there obviously hate their jobs. Neither were friendly at all and it felt like an imposition to have them make my sub for me. I won't be back.

When I first heard that a Belly Busters was opening around the corner from my place / office I was very excited. Every time I am uptown I try to make it a mission to stop in. I was a little worried when I heard they were opening a new location if it would be the same as uptown, but when I got an opportunity to try Belly Busters a day before the grand opening tomorrow I was happy to see many of the same faces from the uptown location. If you are trying to decide what to order, go for the turkey bacon or bacon combo sub. There is something about microwaved bacon that brings the real magic to these sandwiches. The prices are a bit more than the downtown location but this is kinda expected for King St. A foot-long Turkey Bacon is about $1 more at $7.65 downtown. This is still very good for this area as it is hard to find cheap lunch options under $10! Expect this place to be very busy!

This small little bake shop had a menu hanging up, but I completely ignored it thanks to the baked goods right behind the counter that I was too busy staring at. I knew right away that I was going to order a Chocolate Croissant because, well, I always order a Chocolate Croissant if one is available. After making my first choice, this strange little baked good caught my eye, and it turned out to be something called a Cruffin.......a Cruffin you say? What is a cruffin? WELL, let me tell you. The cruffin is basically like a muffin, but like, with cheese and pepperoni on it so obviously I hate to order that sexy little bad boy right away. This thing wasn't big, but it was very dense and basically tasted like pizza crust which was absolutely delicious. After eating the cruffin, the Chocolate Croissant seemed way less cool but I ate it anyway. It tasted good and the chocolate was actually spread across the whole thing so they get an even bigger thumbs up for doing it right. Overall, COBS Bread was the spot! I had no idea this was a chain, but who cares, this place was great. I really liked the Cruffin I got and the croissant was really good as well. I will absolutely be revisiting COBS Bread when I come back to Canada and devouring a few more cruffins while I'm at it!

It blends a traditional Italian deli style with a modern downtown vibe and is known for fresh panini made with quality meats and ingredients, many imported from Italy. We tried their "Il Padrino" and "Capricciosa" panini, and both stood out with crispy fresh bread and a great balance of mortadella, prosciutto, salami, cheese, veggies, and sauces. The combination of fresh bread, curated deli meats, and flavorful sauces gives each sandwich a really nice touch. Besides sandwiches, they also carry Italian-style groceries like pasta, cheeses, desserts, and drinks, which makes the visit feel like a quick trip to a small Italian market. It's a great stop if you're looking for a simple but high-quality lunch in the Harbord Village area.

It's down some steps and features so outdoor seating as well. I was intrigued when I heard that another Italian cafe/sandwich shop opened near the Annex/Harbord Village. They have a variety of panini style sandwiches with a fridge/freezer of imported items such as frozen meals, meats, dried and spreads, sauces, cake slices and gelato! All the sandwiches sound delicious! Hard to choose! I went with the Alla Romana $16 (Prosciutto from Abruzzo Italy, Semi-dried cherry tomatoes, Balsamic glaze, Fior di Latte). The bread was crusty & warm - all quality ingredients!! The prosciutto & other topping were plentiful. Great flavours. Fresh! You can tell it was made with care. I was surprised at how big the sandwich was. It was cut in two & placed in a take away container which travelled well. The sandwich was still intact and perfect when I got home. The bread has a good crust but was soft inside to be a good compliment for the filling! I did get a piece of tiramisu & a small single serve cup of gelato from the fridge/freezer to be tried later!! I am a big fan of sandwiches with quality great & quality filling and this checks off the boxes. Staff was friendly and the sandwich is a good value given the top quality ingredients. If you've been to Italy you will appreciate inspired sandwiches & pantry items! Quite a few tables to sit down and enjoy your sandwich with a cold or hot beverage. They have a TV with the Olympics on too! The sandwich picture doesn't do it justice! Go see for yourself!! :)

I literally have nothing to say bad about this place, because that is how much I love their food. The menu is huge with so many varieties of subs/sandwiches to choose from, truly all of them are the best. The staff is so kind and are very welcoming, they allow you to modify the sandwich in case there is anything you don't want on it. There is also a lot of seating for you to come in and eat as well, incase you did not want to take out. Now onto the sandwiches! I kid you not, the bread here is the most softest, fresh bread which also does not get soggy with all the toppings/sauces that get put on it. And then all the toppings that get added are super fresh. These sandwiches truly are addicting but also worth the money! I will always go back for the Chef's Choice sub which comes with: Grilled Chicken Strips, Avocado, Tomato, Hot Pepper, Fresh Onion, Olives, Crispy Onion, Pesto Sauce & Grandma's Homemade Hot Sauce. I truly truly recommend this off their menu if you are looking for something you want to keep coming back for. 10/10 Recommend!!!

I agree that the price for a sandwich plus side salad is quite pricey ($13 including tax) but I like the fact that everything tastes fresh and light, and you have alot of options to customize your sandwich in a healthy way. I ordered the rosemary focaccia with chicken breast, arugula, avocado and chipotle spread plus their usual sprinkle of salt, pepper and squeeze of lime. It's like a gourmet sandwich - the bread was thick, soft with hints of rosemary and yummy. The salad was mostly arugula with carrots- this was very lightly seasoned but at least I won't be hit with itis going back to work! Definitely would come again, although not regularly since it's kinda pricey.

Looking for a Sandwich place that is different, cutting edge and makes your taste buds melt? Well…read morethis is not your place! I'm going to continue with my overtime take out review series with Sandwich Box. You would think making a sandwich is probably not the most complicated task out there, but this place seems to get it all wrong. My order consisted of an egg salad sandwich on whole grain bread with a side salad. When I received it, I only got the sandwich and the restaurant failed to tell me the salad was no longer included in the combo (yet the price remained the same). That's great that the online menu was not updated to include items no longer available, a simple update would address all these problems knowmsayin? Now on to the actual sandwich, the bread was thick. I mean so thick it looked like there was about a half an inch of eggs inside of two encyclopedias worth of bread. The eggs themselves, totally flavorless and bland. Kinda hard to mess up an egg salad sandwich right? Even Tim Horton's can get that right! To make things short and sweet, I'll be looking over this option the next time I'm working late or considering a sandwich in the downtown area.
