Mr. Sponge is a wonderful company to work with. I'm currently taking care of my Mom who has lived in her house for over 35 years. I have had to take care of needed repairs that came to my attention. I had Keith come out in August of 2024 and repaired 3 tie rod leaks. He did a great job. In May of this year I had to have more work done that I wasn't aware of because the leaks only occurred during really heavy rains. This time Dean came out and did a great job. 22 tie rod leaks and 2 cracks were repaired. Dean also gave me recommendations on companies to call for the remaining leak that Dean's company can't handle. Mr. Sponge's scheduler and Dean were able to accommodate my having to care for my Mom and being available to assist with showing Dean what I needed done. Mr. Sponge is a great company. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! My interaction with Mr. Sponge Waterproofing Inc. has been nothing short of satisfactory. Honesty, dependability and quality workmanship are qualities I look for when doing business with companies. Mr. Sponge has met my expectations in those regards. I was first introduced to the company in 2018 when I inquired with them about the sealing of foundation cracks in the basement of a property I owned at the time. I submitted an online request for consultation and within hours I received a response from the owner, Sherrill Dean Teaster. Although my problem did not require Mr. Teaster's services, I was very appreciative of the time he took to provide an informative, detailed explanation of how my problem came about and the steps I could take personally to bring about its resolve. Mr. Teaster's empathy and honesty were admirable and left an everlasting impression on me, which is why I sought his services just recently. I observed Mr. Teaster as he completed my service repair and it is apparent that he is a master of his craft as he performed with the level of care, accuracy and thoroughness you'd expect from a skilled professional. My customer experience with Mr. Sponge has been gratifying and I expect the results of their work to be just as pleasing. read more

Best around hands down. Excellent work! On time and reliable. Thanks Dean! Northville HM RM

Updated this review Dean reached out and will resolve this issue and a full review of our experience will be completed

With the snow melting the basement decided to start leaking and leaking and leaking. We called Mr. Sponge recommended by Glenn Haege, who fixed a similar problem over 10 years ago in a different part of the basement. They fix the leak from the inside so you don't have to rip up your driveway saving big-time moo-la. This time we had a 1/4 to 1/2" crack in the foundation. In less than 2 hour and only a couple hundred bucks leak and foundation are fixed. read more

Basement started leaking after the massive downpours we had a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately the leak was behind my circuit breaker so I was afraid I'd need to hire an electrician to remove the box. Luckly I had Dean (who is the owner) come out and he was able to fix the leak without removing the circuit breaker using their proprietary polyurethane. I was really impressed that he didn't have to remove the breaker box. After last night's downpour the basement stayed dry. Would highly recommend Dean to fix a leaky basement. read more

Dean Teaster, what a professional. He entered my basement area, assessed the need (which was 10 times the original estimate), and took full ownership of the remedy. This was so far above and beyond what I expected from previous experiences with vendors that I was blown away. After completing the repairs quickly and cleanly, he then used his thermal camera and exposed even more potential water damage through out my condo. I can highly recommend Mr. Sponge & Dean. read more

I had a crack 105 inches long. Submitted for a quote with all the information they requested. I got a good quote. Then, they had been able to fit my job in pretty good time. The work was completed, The finished job was great. No little plastic nozzles sticking out. A nice flat surface. Plus, a great clean up job from all the work. I didn't have to do anything to the area when done. I would use them again without hesitation. read more

I was selling my condo and during the inspection I found out there was a leak in the wall I never even knew about. My association called Mr. Sponge Waterproofing and thank God they did because Dean came out the next day and he was so wonderful. When my association didn't respond to his phone calls to get approval to make the repairs he skipped his lunch and drove over there himself to speak to them directly. No one else would have done that. He came right back and worked on my condo leak and was done by the next day after some parts were purchased. He went above and beyond. Thank you Dean!!!! read more

We had an issue with our condo basement wall. Mr. Sponge (Dean) came out and fixed the issue that our builder "tried" to fix in 2015 ( which they did not do since we had water coming in from the wall) . Dean was professional, polite, and was on time. He also pointed out another issue we had which he did not have to bring to my attention. Great dealing with him and super job finally "fixing" it right. A+++ work. Would highly recommend them again. We need more businesses like this around. read more

The unusual February rains this year drove me deep into my files to look for the name of the company my home inspector mentioned a few years ago: Mr. Sponge. A quarter inch deep lake began to take shape in my basement as I made the call. Dean Teaster, the owner, answered, explained his procedure, then came out. In two hours he had finished cementing the wall and plugged the leak (no need to be dry to repair) with his proprietary devices. Before I knew, the stair step crack had been sealed and the lake on my floor met the shop vac. Dean converses while he works. Google him in the IMDb movie site. Dean Teaster is a man of many talents and a heck of a leak guy to boot. He is Mr, Sponge after all. read more

Last week Dean came out to inspect my home as one half of my house is much colder than the other. He found no leaks or cracks in the basement which could be causing the problem. However, from his experience he told me what he suspected and gave me the information for a company who could help me. Because the only thing he could do was give me a recommendation he waive the charge for the inspection. He displayed more honor than you normally find these days. If I ever find water in my basement this company will be my first call. read more

High recommend! Did a great job, was quick, reasonable and professional. We have had no issues since repair.

Been fighting a crack in my basement for a few years, as well as tie rod holes that were leaking. Found the Mr Sponge website and ordered a bag of the TRX swell plugs. As advertised they were very easy to install and took care of the water coming in the tie rod holes. That left the crack, not feeling confident in my skills I called and set up an appointment to have Mr Sponge take care of it. Had my appointment today and Dean showed up like they said. In no time at all he was working and filling the crack with their SP3 polyurethane. He explained all the steps. He was complete in about an hour. Very friendly. I would not hesitate to have them back and highly recommend them if you have basement issues like I did. read more

Just brought new house and discovered that basement had minor leak coming from wall. not good when your only driving force is to finish the basement for weekend football games in the man cave. I got a tip thru the grapevine that Mr. Sponge deals with these type of issues. Dean (the owner) called me personally and set up a time we could both be there to take care of the issue. Few days later, Dean himself showed up and was on the problem. I could tell within minutes that he was very knowledgeable of not just the cracks and leaks, but pretty much all aspects of house maintenance. I watched as he took the extra time to make sure things were done right (and not just rush thru a fix). For me, it wasn't that he just fixed the problem, he tried to explain what happens as he was fixing the problem. I always like the fix, but especially like when the fix is explained in simple terms that I can understand. Dean/Mr. Sponge = Solid/Dependable company. Thanks Mr. Sponge... read more
