Chicken Mr. Shawarma Salad (half eaten) still a lot of food left!
Joe C.

Wow! This place is a hidden gem! The food was so good and full of flavor. The portions are huge and affordable. The service was friendly and quick. I asked for hot sauce and they gave me samples of both of their hot sauces and they were both good. I ordered the chipotle chicken shawarma and a side of eggplant salad. Both items were great. I do wish you could swap out the fries for a salad or different side with the shawarma wraps. My friend got the chicken shawarma salad, it was massive, and delicious. I will be going back for sure.

Mr. Shawarma has amazing food. I really enjoyed their beef and lamb Shawarma and we also had a Habibi burger. The venue overall is very wholesome. Nothing flashy but cozy. The Habibi burger was good. Had a large soft bread for the bun easy to eat in the meat was very soft and texture and very tasteful. The service overall was very good and they made really good recommendations. Will come back soon.

MUST TRY! Absolutely delicious, authentic Mediterranean food paired with top-tier service. The staff is incredibly hospitable and welcoming--you can truly taste the love and care put into every dish. The chipotle shawarma was perfectly cooked with just the right balance of seasoning. We also ordered the shawarma fries with half chicken and half beef, added hummus, and wow--the flavors were immaculate. Even if you're full, do yourself a favor and order the baklava to go. It's incredibly fresh, not overly sweet, yet perfectly decadent and rich. This was our first visit, and we will definitely be back!

Double Trouble wrap.

Was staying at my Brother in laws house in El Cajon and needed something to eat. Hadn't had any shawarma in awhile, so I decided to come down here. I went with the "Double Trouble" wrap which had chicken and beef in it. $17 or so after a small tip. How was it? Double Trouble Wrap- Eh...it was just ok. Like a burrito, but I liked it a lot less. Nothing necessarily wrong with it, just wish I had gone and got a burrito somewhere. Meat, sauces, and pickles were all just ok. Service was pretty quick and friendly. Might be back, but doubtful.

Very thin bread, breaks apart.

Good parking and a hard-working lady behind the counter, she's the cook, manager, and Cleaner. She makes Tacos and Falafel. Never seen that B 4., LOL The Falafel was just okay, I expected better for $11.00 for a Falafel Sandwich. The worst part, the bread, paper thin, like tissue paper, literally rips apart simply by touching it, impossible actually to hold the sandwich itself. I've never seen a Mexican restaurant and a Middle Eastern restaurant at the same counter, Shawarma and a taco. Like KFC meets Taco Bell. When you do many things at once, it often means nothing is special.

The food was soooo delicious and flavorful. I got something called double trouble with beef and chicken. Meet was tender and spiced perfectly. Everything tasted fresh and the woman at the register was friendly and the place was very clean. Ill definitely come back.

First time here and had a delicious meal can't wait to try the rest of the unique menu

Chicken shawarma with fries

A little mom and pop type shop with a very authentic feeling to it. We were the only ones in there and there was only one person working at the time. The shawarma was good, not great, but that might just be because I am not used to this type of authentic cuisine. My friend and I split a meal of chicken shawarma and fries because it looked big and let me tell you it was. We were not able to finish the entire mountain of fries that is pictured because it was a lot of food, but they were pretty good. The vibes were a bit odd since my friend went to ask for a water cup and the person working just had her reach around the counter to get it and the bathrooms weren't very clean. Overall food was okay, but portions, and vibes were interesting.

Baklava

Ordered the rice bowl with beef shawarma and tahini sauce which was so good!! Tried 3 baklava and they were super delicious not too sweet and the texture was perfect. Will definitely come back again. Service was quick and the employees are sweet (:

Chipotle Chicken Shawarma

The food here was okay. I liked my husband's chipotle shawarma wrap more than I liked my beef kabob plate. That wrap was pretty good, and the chipotle sauce complemented it nicely. The rice and salad on my plate were pretty good, but I didn't care for the flavor of the hummus and the beef kabob itself very much. The service was awkward to say the least. The young employee sat looking at his phone for a while even when we were standing right in front waiting to order. He then was really pushy with my husband about writing a review. They were also playing rap music prominently featuring the n-word when none of the staff are Black which I find to be kind of awkward. They had the doors wide open letting cold air into the restaurant on a super cold evening, which I feel is inconsiderate for those dining in. Overall, they missed the mark on this visit. That being said, my husband liked the food enough at this spot to want to revisit in the future, so maybe next time will be better.

The shawarma was disappointing. The chicken lacked spices and was very dry. Overall, not a good experience.

We managed it by having part of our group jump out to get in line while we waited for a spot, a strategy that worked perfectly since we were seated within just a few minutes of walking in. The restaurant itself is beautiful, featuring clean white marble and modern lighting. It has a high-energy, "efficient ship" vibe. The staff is everywhere, and you'll hear a "symphony" of shouted orders and instructions that makes the whole place feel alive and incredibly productive. Seeing the constant stream of people picking up to-go orders was our first clue that the food was going to be excellent. The Food We ordered for a party of seven and found the portions to be very generous: The Platter for 3: This was the perfect way to sample five different types of kebabs. Every meat was seasoned beautifully and cooked to perfection. This came with a salad. The Qouzi: This was the standout for me. It's a unique dish with a wonderful blend of textures, the crunch of fried almonds on top paired with massive chunks of stewed lamb. The lamb was so incredibly tender I could literally cut it with a spoon! To top it all off, they offer free Arabic tea, which was the perfect finishing touch to a heavy, savory meal. Final Verdict It's rare to find a place that is this busy yet runs with such precision. Great food, beautiful ambiance, and a lively atmosphere. My family and I will definitely be back!

Half roasted chicken with side of fatoush salad, beef kabob plate with side of rice, lamb tikka with side of fries, a large plate of hummus, and an order of falafel (Best Falafel in SoCal). EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! I personally didn't like the lamb tikka but everyone else destroyed that plate. Right away, the atmosphere felt welcoming, beautiful, and relaxed. I ordered my food, sipped my water, and honestly didn't think I had ordered that much. Then she came out with multiple filled brown bags of food! First of all, the prices were amazing. Second... the food was TOP NOTCH and completely different from what I had the night before. The waitress/hostess was knowledgeable, friendly, and gave great recommendations on what to try. You can tell the staff truly cares about the experience. I will absolutely be back the next time I visit San Diego again. Every element felt thoughtfully prepared, balanced, and deeply satisfying without trying too hard. The standout for me was the biryani, comforting, and perfectly executed. But everything impressed. The tzatziki was bright and refreshing, the hummus topped with beef shawarma was rich and flavorful, and the ney classic plate was generous enough to easily feed two, maybe even three, without sacrificing quality anywhere on the plate. It was the perfect way to try a lot of their items at once and that one disappointed! What really says it all is that I am already looking forward to the leftovers, which is rare for me.
