Excellent service. We used Vega for a major kitchen remodel after interviewing five other possible…read morealternatives in the area, and I'm glad we did. We're pretty picky about interior design, and the entire team was super patient with us throughout the entire process and very helpful. The owner himself came to our house multiple times (initial measurements, double checking, partial installation, complete installation, follow-up, etc.) to make sure everything was going well. One time, when a third-party cabinet supplier forgot to include a side panel in the initial shipment, the owner handpicked a virtually perfect match from some unrelated stock and just gifted it to us so that we could cut it and apply it to our island in time for a huge party we were having at our house that weekend, and we got the actual panel shortly after that. They've got a great selection of cabinetry, hardware, and countertop material, in addition to some other stuff. It's been 13 months now since installation was complete, and we're still in a state of shock about how beautiful the whole thing is every time we walk into the kitchen. I could not recommend them more strongly.

Based on my recent personal experience, I unfortunately have to agree with all the negative…read morereviews. 1. Pressure to put down a deposit -- do NOT do it unless your design is final. They will push you hard to pay a deposit to "lock in" a price. In reality, any change to your initial design--no matter how small--results in a higher quote, and they will not provide any breakdown to justify the increases. You're left with two choices: accept the added cost on faith, or walk away and lose your deposit. There is no actual price lock. 2. Promises that aren't reflected in writing. The owner, Fatih, may verbally assure you that you can recover half of your deposit if you decide not to move forward during the design phase. Insist on getting everything in writing before paying anything. Once you receive the written terms (which only show up after you've sent the deposit if you let them rush you), you'll find that you are not entitled to any refund if you ever request your design--whether for review, record-keeping, or any legitimate purpose. Unsurprisingly, none of this is mentioned before they take your money. 3. Poor communication once they have your deposit. After paying, be prepared to chase them. I repeatedly had to send multiple emails and make follow-up calls just to receive a one-line response. And after these delays, they will inform you that your "locked-in" price is about to expire unless you finalize your order within a couple of days--again with no refund of your deposit if you don't. 4. Vague and non-specific documentation. The price they claim you've "locked in" only applies to an undefined "as-per-design" reference--without details. If you don't have a copy of the design, I'm not sure how you could ever prove what you supposedly locked in. They avoid putting anything concrete in writing, making it nearly impossible to hold them accountable. That alone should be a major red flag. I made the mistake of trusting this business based on a recommendation from someone I know. I hope that sharing my experience helps others avoid the same situation.

If you are lucky enough to have landed on Grout Pros' NYC Google listing, please do yourself an…read moreimmediate favor: stop stressing, end the analysis paralysis, step out of the panic loop and contact Elizabeth and Daniel ASAP. The universe is positively intervening in a way you cannot even fathom right now. I say this because I was YOU less than 48 hours ago. My nightmare started when I hired a "contractor" through TaskRabbit with 600+ five-star reviews to fix and paint a peeling bathroom window along with some regrout touch-ups. Straightforward, right? Well, on Day 2 at 6pm on a Thursday, less than 72 hours before my guest's early Sunday arrival, he scurried away mid-job and left the window's wood and metal frame in worse condition than when he started. He used a chemical paint remover that compromised the surface, then left when things got complicated. No referral. Just a "sorry" and out the door. Now I had less time, a worse problem, and no clear path forward. Enter NYC Grout Pros. Elizabeth initially told me they were booked until Monday, which I understood, but once she heard my timeline, she led with empathy and assured me she and Daniel would make Friday work. It felt like a miracle! I went to sleep knowing I wasn't alone. Friday, Daniel arrives around 2:30pm, and what struck me immediately was how supported he was by his team. One of his colleagues--on THEIR day off--came by just to deliver tools and materials he'd need. That level of coordination and sacrifice, especially under pressure, is rare. What Daniel walked into was no longer simple. The wood had been compromised, sanding was difficult, and the timeline ruled out conventional approaches. He assessed everything calmly and made a critical call--the current path wouldn't get this done in time. At 5pm on a Friday, without hesitation, he drove nearly two hours through West Village traffic to his shop in Westchester to custom cut wood for my window and source the right materials to actually solve the problem--not just patch it. He then drove back into Manhattan, arriving around 8:30pm, and worked until 11:30pm. And, true to his word--came back by 10am the next morning, on a Saturday--HIS day off--and a day where he had meaningful personal commitments, and still worked until everything was completed to the highest standard. The Result: the window was fully repaired, the grout issues were smoothed out, and the bathroom was spotless/usable. I was able to keep my promises to my guest because of Daniel. But what impressed me most is who Daniel is as a person. He is not only exceptional in his craft--he is an even more exceptional human being. I was under pressure. I had already lost time and money. I was dealing with someone else's poor judgment. And Daniel kept reassuring me: he was on my side, he wouldn't abandon the project, and he would get it done. Although I was a complete stranger--one of millions of people in NYC--he treated me like a longtime friend he was willing to move mountains for. And boy did he. He never made me feel like a burden or like he'd been stuck with a bad job. There was also a generosity of spirit that permeated his work. My partner had ?'s about installing new flushmounts, and Daniel took the time to coach him through an example so we'd feel confident doing it ourselves. One micro-moment spoke volumes. After hours of driving and working late, he still cleaned thoroughly--bathroom spotless, tools neatly placed. As we walked out, he noticed dust from his boots in the hallway and instinctively dropped down to clean it, saying he didn't want to leave the building that way. That level of care--at the very end of a long day--is not something you can fake. I also appreciated how highly he spoke of his team, especially Elizabeth. It's clear they are a close, experienced group that genuinely support one another--and it shows. What they did for me went far beyond fixing a window. Hearing "I got you" felt like 1000 pounds lifted off my shoulders--I've found my dream creative partners and I know I can trust them with any project moving forward! And so should you!

We had a minor miscommunication on color and they fixed it without issue. As we were leaving one of those showrooms, I noticed Exquisite, across Central Ave. and made a bee-line for the store. Domenick greeted us and gave us time to look around. While his showroom is small, the selection is great! All high-quality products, most of which aren't much more (cost-wise) than the run-of-the-mill stuff you find at a big-box store. The biggest difference is in the level of customer service that Domenick provides. He walked me through every step of the decision-making & ordering process. He advised me on how long some of my tile choices would take, to be in stock. And when the tile was available, he hand-delivered to my Queens apartment. There is more than enough stress involved, in renovating your home. Domenick provided us with calm & efficient assistance, truly making our experience EASY and enjoyable. Should we have returned the boxes, we were notified to receive some sort of remittance but we have not received anything. On multiple occasions, he and his team have stayed late until the job is done. They may not be the cheapest in town, but they are easily worth the money to know that the job will be done correctly the first time -- and I consider myself pretty picky when it comes to how I think things should be done. But, we found out our old laminate flooring was buckling due to a slow dishwasher leak, had to be repaired badly. The floor led to other problems and those problems led to a gut job. Let's talk about tiles. Sam's is small but has a lot of merchandise to choose from. Carmine (owner?) was all ears when we selected brand new Subway tiles for our new job plus he gave us some aesthetic advice (thank you Carmine, but we have a style already). One of the things hubs and I appreciated the most was that even when we questioned him about whether or not we should get an extra box of floor tiles to add to our existing 7 boxes we'd purchased back in April '21, for that "just in case" moment, Carmine wasn't hard-selling us into buying another case of tiles. Bill was genuinely interested in making sure I had the right information about tiles, the installation process and different techniques to get the best results. In the end, I had to remove everything down to the subfloor but I am so happy that I did because I will now avoid years of continuously having to repair a bad floor. Bill worked with me to pick the best floor tile for the design and price I wanted. He also met with my new contractor to make sure the floor would be installed correctly. It was such a good experience as a customer that I went back to get my counter and backsplash tiles. Bill was able to get all the products to me lightening fast and the quality was even better than I expected. Bill's expertise, compassion and great sense of humor helped me get through what started out as a nightmare. I now have a kitchen that I absolutely love! The third time was a disaster and they could not have been less accountable or less accommodating. In short, Kanters sent us the wrong colored LVT flooring, which even if we were willing to accept it, was defective and not capable of being installed. In any event, my wife and I were immediately willing to accept a different color LVT flooring that Kanters had in stock so that our construction was not set back weeks (we still had to pay our contractor for two days of work reserved to install this flooring, which now could not occur). Rather than doing what was necessary to immediately deliver this new LVT flooring, Kanters said it did not have staff to do that but eventually "agreed" to allow my wife and I to do all the manual labor ourselves (picking up 25 boxes weighing 60+ lbs each). Making it almost comical, Kanters had the gall to ask that we also bring back the 25 boxes of wrong colored and defective flooring so that they could get their money back from the manufacturer (which we did). Thus, my wife and I performed a half day of manual labor to correct Kanters' mistake because, apparently, they do not have adequate staff. When we asked for a credit, this is a quote from Brian Kanter: "These type of positions are the reasons that most small business no longer exists in our world. For some reason society has the belief that perfection exists and that a manufacture never makes a defective product or sends the wrong product. I wish that was the case but it's just a fantasy." Mr. Kanter went on to equate us transporting 50 boxes of extremely heavy flooring to the time he had to return a broken TV to Best Buy. In other words, don't expect that what you get will be what you ordered or even correct. In the end, the "credit" they offered was that they were not going to charge us extra for having to pick new carpet to match the different colored flooring (something he admitted they otherwise normally do). I think the moral is shop here at your own risk. If everything goes fine they are a run of the mill flooring company. They hardly answer their phones and take days to respond to emails. But, if things go poorly, you better expect that they will shift the blame to their manufacturer and/or to you. They will not be out of pocket - you will (just as we are).
