I dined at Mr. Ramen for the first time and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Pork Chashu Ramen, Steamed Gyoza, and a Terra. The dumplings were flavorful, and the ramen was good. They even had a creative Terra "Christmas" tree display, which was a first and a nice touch. I arrived just before Happy Hour ended, so I caught a small discount on my bill. Service was exceptional - attentive and friendly - and the restaurant was clean with a calm atmosphere.

Ramen for lunch on a chilly day

This was an okay experience. The ramen was okay and the edamame sticks were interesting, as I've never had them before. The service was okay. The decor is cute and the vibes are easy-going.

This place was pretty busy for a Sunday evening which is always a good sign. Our group ordered some appetizers: spicy edamame, edamame sticks (because one edamame wasn't enough ), and gyoza. All were very good. We then ordered our ramen: chicken cashu and shrimp tempura. I had the level 1 spice which was quite spicy but the broth was wonderful. Service was a bit on the slow side. There was only one server who kept apologizing. She was very sweet md she was clearly doing her best to keep up. All together, it's definitely worth a try.

We've seen @mr.ramen_sa featured on Texas Eats a couple of different times and have wondered how it is. With the chilly weather today, we went to check it out. Happy hour on weekdays are until 7pm with $1 off appetizers, desserts, beer, and sake. We started off with the Edamame. Dad enjoyed the Ramen with Shrimp Tempura, Hubby had the Ramen with Pork Katsu, and I had the Cold Soba. Lots of carbs tonight and it was all good. Both broths were Tonkotsu. The broth was flavorful and not salty. For the ramen, you choose the type of noodle, broth, protein, and if you want extra flavor. They do have cash versus non-cash pricing. It seems more and more restaurants are passing on the processing fees to the customers.

With the hot weather coming, I definitely recommend the seasonal menu item: Japanese COLD soba noddles! These cold noodles are just like the picture, beautiful and delicious! I ordered the combo with the shrimp tempura (4 pieces) and wow, the tempura was super tasty too! Between the cold noodles and hot tempura, talk about a killer flavor combo!

Tonkatsu ramen. Price to portion needs improvement

Slow service. Ramen took about an hour after placing an order. Appetizers need significant improvements. Kim chi smelled old and tasted worse. Gyoza was bland and the dropping sauce didn't help. During the long wait for ramen, I discovered this place did not make the Top 10 list for San Antonio. But giving this place try tells me why. Our server came and noticed we haven't received our ramen. When our ramen arrived it was lukewarm. Definitely would tasted better served hot. However, the ramen tonkatsu broth tasted good at lukewarm. The price-to-portion needs improvement. I waited about an hour for such a light portion of ramen. This is most likely my first and last time for Mr. Ramen. 2 stars for my initial and last experience. There are other ramen spots nearby. If you're curious, then give them a try.

What an amazing ramen place! We started with the vegan gyoza and were blown away! Great flavor and had the perfect crispy outside! We each got our own ramens, mine was the medium thick noodles with creamy chicken broth and with tofu, add bean sprouts, shrimp tempura, and extra corn. My husband got the same noodle and broth with shrimp tempura with an extra egg and corn. We were both sooo happy with our meal! And the server was a sweetie as well, very attentive and kind! Overall this is a place I would highly recommend and come to regularly if I lived in the area!

Outstanding customer service from the waitress and the owner himself. I have been to several ramen noodles places and by far this is the best place. Extremely genuine house made noodles with the most amazing tasting broth. This is a must try place.

Med thick noodles, Tonkatsu, Chashu, California Summer, with extra egg and chashu. Sapporo. Gyoza.

We went during lunch and it was not busy at all. My kids loved the decor and the food. Service was amazing and very helpful when we had questions.

I heard about this Ramen shop while searching on yelp. We ordered the chicken karaage with sweet and spicy sauce on the side and two chicken Ramen with chicken Katsu on top. One chicken Ramen was a spice level two, which was perfectly spicy. I also got Sriracha on the side. The decor was very cute. The restroom art was very cute as well . Service was great and the owner was very nice.

I had never eaten here before so I was really excited to try it and I'm so glad they brought me here because every single thing we tried was absolutely delicious! We sat outside on the patio, there was a nice breeze, and it wasn't too hot, and there weren't too many people out there, which was nice. Our server was great, she checked on us just enough, but not so much that it was bothersome. Off of the happy hour menu we ordered the shrimp and we love them so much we ordered a second one. We also ordered seaweed salad, which was delicious, pork dumplings, which were perfect, and the ginger, garlic beef with tempura sweet potato fries, and that was really good. I just wish that it wasn't ground beef because it was a little bit hard to get with chopsticks. We ordered a Philadelphia roll, and I cannot remember the names of the other two but one of them had yellow fish. (Sashimi I think) everything was wonderful and tasted super fresh. For a dessert we wanted to be daring and ordered the black sesame crème brûlée and it was absolutely wonderful! Not what I was expecting at all, the flavor was great, and the sesame seed was not overbearing. I can't wait to go back and try the Ramen and definitely dig back in to all of the awesome offerings on the happy hour menu!

For ramen, I recommend the "red" Aka Fuku. For udon noodles, the tofu was delicious as well if you need a vegetarian option. There is a small kids' menu and other non-noodles traditional Japanese dishes available as well. For drinks, there are the standard soft drink options, hot teas(or cold), beer, and wine. The atmosphere is very casual, but not to the point of feeling like a rushed lunch hour. It was not very crowded on our visit, but I noticed they probably get more to-go orders than seated service. Hoka Hoka Fuku is an excellent choice in the area if you're looking to have Japanese food. I can't wait to go back and try this place for dinner.

Delicious rich broth and added some sriracha for a kick. Ramen noodles were ok, but would have preferred my fave, udon. I just love the thicker noodles.
