My wife brought her car in for an oil change and while there the "technician" broke the oil dipstick off and it was stuck in the tube. My wife was not allowed out of her vehicle to inspect the damage, nor was she given any explanation on next steps or even a manger name to contact. She was told "if you come back during the week during daytime hours the manager will be here and he might be able to help". So it turns out there is a "design flaw" with my wife's car and this problem (dipstick breaking off) is fairly common. HOWEVER - the fact of the matter is, the dipstick broke off at the hands of a Mr. Lube technician. Any other business would have immediately said "Oh, we're sorry, let us give you your oil change "on the house" and that would have been that. But they didn't offer her any discount, nor did they offer any reparation or offer of help for the inconvenience. So my wife takes her car to the dealership and has to pay $200 for a new dipstick ad the labour to remove the broken one (since the car had to be put up on a hoist and the dipstick tube had to be removed to get the old broken one out). While they were working - they found that Mr. Lube had not filled her oil back up. She was over 2 litres of oil low. So they also had to top up the oil that my wife paid FULL PRICE for already. She contacted the store manager and he was extremely rude to her, unhelpful and basically told her that the issue was a "known issue" with the car, and she was on her own. At the end of the day - it was our choice to bring the vehicle to another shop for repair - HOWEVER, an offer SHOULD have been made to refund the oil change (as it wasn't completed) and an extra step would have been to offer replacement cost for the dipstick itself. (only an $18 part) THAT would have been good customer service. But as it stands, my wife has been playing back and forth with the store manger there for over a month - he keeps giving her the run around and finally stopped calling her back all together. So she filled out the "Mr. Lube" survey which simply goes to the same management group "Prairie Lube" and now she's been in touch with another douche nozzle known as the "business development manager" that is talking down to her and making excuses for why they broke the car saying "it's a known issue" and that there will be no refund, and no reparations at all. Apparently that is the final word. So Mr. Lube, and your franchisee "Prairie Lube" - I hope you're reading this. Because of a lack of empathy and any sort of ownership of the problem, as well as a lack of a simple solution (refund of oil change is all my wife asked for) you've lost not only one customer but two. We will no longer be bringing any of our vehicles to Mr. Lube for service of any sort. We will be telling all of our friends and family, and I will no longer be bringing my service vehicle to Mr. Lube either, I will also make sure that our fleet manager knows what lousy service you provide I should mention that the 'biz development manager" from Prairie Lube, did offer a "free oil change" coupon as part of his last EXTREMELY rude email...but really - after all of this do they really think we will EVER be back? Not impressed, at all. I hope losing business was worth not refunding the $70 for an incomplete oil change.

Everything was explained to me very clear and they did try the usual upsell on tranny fluid flush and front diff flush but i politely said no thanks and there was no hard sell. They adjusted my tire pressure, cleaned the windshield and back window, lubed the doors and filled up my washer fluid. All in all i was happy. Price was similar to dealer but i was in and out quick. I would consider using them again, especially with the discount given on yelp ($15).

Every time I have a flat and need a tire repair, they've always gotten me in right away and gotten it fixed immediately. Sometimes at no-charge even! My most recent experience was today. On Saturday I got a flat tire in Madden, AB and had to get AMA to come change my tire. I tried to get into Canadian Tire to have them fix it, and they told me the hole was "Too big for the plug" and that I needed to buy a new tire. And they were going to charge me a fortune for it because I have 17" low-profile tires. I took it in to Don this morning and he had a look at it and was able to fix it. I ALWAYS recommend OK tire to my friends and colleagues when they ask me where a good place to buy tires is. Even if they live in Calgary, the quality of service is well worth it.

And I got it when I phoned Econo Tire looking for a pair of used tires to replace a flat I got last week. I had initially taken the flat into Kal-tire to see if it could be fixed. Turns out, no. Whatever I ran over made a gash too large to fix. And my tires are getting to the point of needing replacing anyway, they suggested I replace them. Anyway, new tires just weren't in the budget this month, but I can't drive around on my spare forever. I did a search on the web for used tires and came up with Econo Tire. I phoned to see if they had any tires that would fit my car. I don't know a heck of a lot about how my car runs. I know how to check the oil, put in more windshield washer fluid, and test the air pressure in my tires. But when I was asked what size of tire I needed, I had no idea. Manuel (owner), offered to look it up online for me to see if we could confirm the size, when we couldn't, he explained what kind of number I was looking for and waited on the phone while I ran out to my car to check. When I came back in, he confirmed he had a couple of used tires in good condition that would fit. For the tires and installation, he quoted me a total of $110. When I walked in, Manuel came out front and said "Wendy?" Yep, that's me. I liked this guy all ready. He had me drive my car around back. The tire change took all of about 45 minutes, during which time Manuel invited me to wait in his little office/conference room at the front and put on a pot of coffee for me. Seriously, you'd think I was a guest in his home-I was that well taken care of. Once my car was finished, his mechanic guy drove it back around to the front for me and, sure enough, the price I paid was what was quoted to me... with GST of course. The only drawback to buying used tires is that there isn't the same lifetime type warranty you might get with new ones. But there is a 30 day warranty that Econo Tire honours in the event something goes awry.

I wanted to get my car inspected for my insurance and it took them 3 weeks to get it done as they were always messing things up. I spoke to Arnel and told me the crack in my windshield will be fine but when I went there they told me to get it fixed. After I fixed my windshield they told me to come back by Saturday at 9am to do the inspection but the mechanic wasn't there. For the third time that I went back to this shop, they did not inspect my car. The mechanic just signed the paper without taking a look of my car and filled in the paper WRONG. So I went back the same day to get it done and explained to the owner the mistakes and I wrote down one by one what needs to get done properly. Unfortunately, the mechanic wasn't there anymore so I have to go back the next day which will be the 5th time. I went back the next morning and the paper wasn't even filled in properly that I have to tell them where they screwed up AGAIN. The owners of this shop are not professional and they are incompetent. I do not recommend this car shop and don't waste your time and money in this place. They will also blame you for their mistakes.

As a single woman, I have been frustrated with garages that are manned by grumpy old men who take no time to explain things and talk down to me. Here you feel welcome, valued, and you get honest feedback on your vehicle. I have twice been told about things I will likely need down the road, but that they aren't necessary at the moment.
