I bought a used Maytag washer and dryer set here for $450. The appliances looked fine and came with a 30-day warranty. They even swapped the dryer cord for the correct type before loading them up. When I got home, the washer worked great--but the dryer tripped the breaker as soon as I plugged it in, even without turning it on. I called the store, and they told me to bring it back, claiming everything is tested before sale. That would've meant renting or borrowing another truck and hauling it down from a 4th-floor apartment with no elevator. The guy I spoke to (the big guy) was rude and dismissive. Instead of dealing with that hassle again, I opened it up myself and found they wired the dryer cord incorrectly--putting the neutral wire to ground. Once I fixed the wiring, the dryer worked perfectly. Even after explaining what happened, there was no apology or accountability--just more attitude. Bottom line: the appliances you buy here might be faulty and not work, and the customer service is terrible. If you decide to shop here, insist that they test everything in front of you before you leave. I don't understand the negative reviews. You know what you're buying the minute you pull into the lot. Used appliances. My father brought me here after my 5 year old washer & dryer I bought from Lowes crapped out. I wasn't looking to spend another $800 ($400/piece). I found a Maytag set for $400. Since my father is a regular they gave us a discount. So I paid less than $400 with tax for the set. It had some paint chipping and dents. But it works. And the younger gentleman even helped load it into my SUV. I agree with some of the bad reviews about the older gent. He was kind of rude. But hey, you're spending less than $200 a piece for a used washer & dryer. Located in a very seedy area. You get what you pay for. You want non-dented appliances & commission-based customer service. Quick and Easy I needed a dryer so I called to find out how much was the cheapest dryer and he said $125 so I went up there. I walked in and was greeted I asked for a dryer and he said ok I have one right here and gave me the run down about it I said cool how much $150 I said great ill take it. He said do u need a three prong or four prong cord because they like to put them on so there wont be any problems later. I really appreciate that because that is what I was looking for. I told him I had to go get the other truck he said no it will fit in this truck you have. I had to go get cash they are cash ONLY no biggie went up the street got cash paid they loaded it in my truck. Got home hooked it up and i was on my way to drying clothes. My new used refrigerator was delivered and installed and the old one hauled off within three hours of handing cash to John. I got a good price, it's running great and I couldn't be happier. This is the absolute worst place or go to.. I bought a stove last Monday, picked it up on sat and when we got home we realised it's bent on both sides. We didn't see that at the store because it was in between two other stoves. I called and they won't refund my money and I have yo wait about a day or two until they get another stove alike the one I bought. I need it today because I'm moving in today and they won't do anything.. total rip off!! People check the stuff all the way around before you leave that filthy store!! read more

It's all about the $ for these guys. I took a chance and won't do it again. Even after leaving the store with the dryer and contacting the older man who sold me the dryer 10 minutes later, he was rude and kept cutting me off while I was talking. I don't have the energy to deal with ignorance. I did get a chance to witness a guy bring his appliance back to the store because it had stopped working but it was too late for me. I had already purchased a dryer 5 minutes before. They give you a 30 day fix it deal but I do suggest caution if you are thinking about purchasing from this place. read more

First of all they only have a THIRTY DAY (30) warranty so beware of that fact. This is a father and son business and the father clearly needs to retire as he appears to be irritated by every customer that asks for anything. Very rude demeanor. I just bought a washer & dryer set less than 2 weeks ago and the washer is not ringing the clothes out. When I called to take advantage of this "30-day warranty" Mr. Grumpy told me to bring the washer in to the store and he will look at it. Like I could just put it in my car and bring it right over. When I first purchased my home almost ALL of my appliances were ancient and outdated. A friend of mine told me about Mr. K's in south east Dallas and that I would get a really good deal. He informed me that the appliances were refurbished but were in good working condition and that there is a warranty if the appliances did not work correctly so I decided to give them a try. When I got there, the store had a wide range of black, white and stainless steel appliances that looked pretty good. I walked out with a range microwave, oven, washer, dryer, and dish washer all in black, all Whirlpool for the beautiful price of $800. There was a delivery fee of $60 and all of them were delivered together at its scheduled time. Its been 3 years and I haven't had ANY problem with my appliances. I highly recommend this store if you shop for great sales as I do vs Conns, Best Buy or Sears. I thought this place was pretty awesome for used appliances. I had just bought a house in 2009 and needed a refrigerator and washer/dryer. I found a great stainless steel side-by-side Whirlpool fridge for $500 and a Whirlpool washer/dryer set for $350. So for $850 + tax I got two appliances and I think it was $50 or so for delivery. Anyway, fast forward to 2015, I spent about $600 last year (2014) repairing the fridge because it was freezing everything on the refrigerator side. About a week ago, the fridge is not really able to keep the temperature consistent on both sides and all my food went bad. So I decided to go ahead and buy a new fridge. I got one from the Sears Outlet this time for $1300. Obviously not a good a deal as Mr. K's but it still only cost $1100 total over a six-year period so I'm not mad! I still have the washer/dryer set but had to replace the dryer. I actually went back to Mr. K's and got another dryer for only $150. Ok so you have to run the dryer about twice to get your clothes to fully dry, but hey small inconvenience with a huge savings attached. No complaints! The only thing is that I live in Allen so Mr. K's is out of the way for me. Otherwise, I would have probably gone back to check out another fridge. Anyway, the people there are friendly and if you don't mind the sketchy neighborhood, definitely check it out. They have some great deals! :) read more

Mr.K's Appliances are as good as it gets when it comes to used appliances. We have been using them for a variety of appliances off & on for many years and most often than not we have seen their used appliances out last our new appliances. Generally, we all would like to be able to purchase or afford new appliances but in a financial pinch they are the to go to place for those name brand appliances or investment property appliances. They have a range of name brand appliance most of us can only dream of and at less than half of what it would cost new, i.e., LG, Samsung, Wolf, front load washers, side by side with freezer on bottom, and more. We're headed there now as a matter of fact...our once brand new washer and dryer from Sears has us wondering why we ever went anywhere else. However, do not expect your typical salesman but do expect negotiable deals! read more
