She listens to what is important to you, takes into account your space and inspirations/tastes and works with you to create a beautiful collaborative masterpiece. We had a vision of what we wanted for our master bathroom with some pinterest pictures to give a sense of what we were looking for (arches, dark cabinets etc.). She took those inspirations and made our own unique version of it that works beautifully in our space. My husband and I always appreciate Barbara's honesty as it is very important to us to have not only a style that reflects us but that is also timeless and elegant. We trust her talent and her expertise fully. What is great is that Barbara is open to collaboration and will work with you if that is a style of work you want. But she can also take your hand step by step along the entire way and guide. you if you have no clue what you like! So if you want a pretty seamless experience with someone who has your best interest in mind and is with you along the entire process (measuring, design, choosing tiles, fixtures, knobs/pulls, cabinets, countertop, following up during construction, recommending and finding contractors etc.) then look no further than The Place for Kitchens and Baths. We look forward to more collaborative projects with her in our home!

Barbara offered us several samples for cabinets and countertops, hardware and such, and in almost no time with her great selection of choices we were able to put together two beautiful bathrooms. Having the completed bathrooms adds to the great feeling of pride that we have in our home.

If your bottom line is to get beautiful granite, installed well, and helpful suggestions that…read moreusually come from a designer then this is the business for you. Tiago is the owner - and visionary - so this is not just another fabricator shop. He travels to Brazil and orders containers of granite to be shipped to his Pompano Beach shop. We went to a couple of large granite/marble yards but wound up buying our granite from Tiago. He made great suggestions that absolutely made our bathrooms look great. In 2012 we purchased granite from Tiago and he installed the slabs in our kitchen. Tiago suggested that we widen our countertop, which we did. He also ran granite alongside a narrow wall so the cabinets looked custom-built. There is only 1 seam on the countertops - and it's only about 30" long! So I know to listen to Tiago when he makes recommendations! If you lack flexibility with scheduling or different people coming to do piecework (i.e. tile, granite installation, cabinet installation, painting/touch-up, etc.) think twice about the work you request. The more work and people assigned to the job, the more likely scheduling issues, etc. I did have a significant problem and Tiago made good on it. The tile guy started the walls by putting the tile seam off center. He then left the job and sent a proxy without telling Tiago - or me. The new tile guy was very nice but I think he lacked expertise. Ultimately some of the tile had to be removed and new tile had to be ordered and installed. We wound up splitting the cost of the new tile. I believe Tiago tried to be a contractor as a convenience to us. His granite was great, as was his installation. He put granite on the threshold of the shower stall and alongside the shower wall to offset the tile issues. Marlene runs his store and handles the administrative portion of each job. It's hard to keep everything on track and I don't envy her. Just know that she and Tiago have their hearts in the right place and your happiness matters to them. The Planet Marble guys are professional and really nice too. And yes, my bathroom is beautiful and nicer than I imagined. Hubby's bathroom is sharp too!

Sept. 30: STILL NO WORKERS, despite our being available each day for most of the month. Nearly 13…read moremonths under contract for a small bathroom remodel, with bad dust throughout our home and the loss of use of most of one floor. Sept. 26: Still waiting for the shower doors guy, the electrician, the plumber, the cabinets installer, and the countertop installer, all of whom were to be here months ago, and each of whom was promised in August and again in early September. And my spouse and I have spent hours cleaning the white dust that is on everything everywhere. This is a company you do not want to hire. Sept 19: The third September week we have been 100% available, yet not one worker has arrived. AND we received a Notice of Right to Lien from one of their major subs, so we are wondering whether all these failures are due to being near bankruptcy. Sept. 8: Over 13 months under contract and work still far from finished. Our home is covered inside with white dust from their cutting tile inside, and we cannot get schedules. For example, we confirmed that they and we had set aside this week for work but it is Monday and we still have no indication that anyone will be here today or tomorrow. We cannot plan our lives. July 25: I was told that this week would be the week that everything would be finished, and this week was wide open for work. Instead they ordered the wrong travertine and we had the choice of either a tile we did not like or even further delays. July 19: The tile and shower installation have not even begun. And even when they are going to do some work, they do not provide info on next day's schedules so it is exceptionally difficult to plan anything. Last week I was promised that all will be made good next week. Early July: News still not good. Approaching a year under contract to remodel a small bathroom and almost only the demolition has been done. My adjacent office has been unusable for most of a year and our home is a scattered mess. The contractors are personable but will not give schedules for subs arriving, so we cannot plan during weekdays. Jamie Weisslender, our Project Manager, was to schedule subs for the next working day and tell us that schedule; she has failed badly at both. Second, one of our biggest delays is due to the weeks it took to acquire an appropriate protective window. The manufacturer was not asked to produce the window until recently, it took many weeks for it to be produced and delivered, and other projects could not go forward in its absence. This should never have happened - I negotiated into the contract a requirement that "Wyman will order, receive, and store the materials, fixtures, and components until all are ready to be used so that the project will go forward all at once instead of in fits and starts." Michael Brown never made any arrangements to timely acquire the window. If it was impossible to.acquire it early, he should have said so; if it could have been acquired early then it should have been. I give Michael and his employer only 1 star because of this over-promising and then breaching the contract. A month later and they are still not delivering either on time or as promised. It is March 25, 2025, and no remodeling work has begun. A month later: Jamie and Michael have missed two more promised dates, and no work on the main project has begun. They have now had a significant amount of my money since last August with no visible progress and no schedule. Contracted with Wyman on August 8, 2024. Paid 50% of price that day. So far a big disappointment. Both Mike Brown and Jamie Weissleder have great ideas and promise wonderful work, but neither has ever once been on time, the required permits were just applied for February 6, 2025, and not one item of work has even begun.

Our 2nd time around our project manager was Paul and he was a major help with both his expertise, on time arrival, and managing the project throughout the entire work process. We just finished working with Wyman again as well as my in laws and we couldn't be happier with the company and Paul the project manager. A+ company as always and a highly recommended manager.

Not only were they less expensive, they helped me find the most magnificent granite at a fantastic price from a neighboring stone supplier. From the first call I made, the experience was incredible. The receptionist at the front desk was welcoming and helpful, the owner took time to give expert advice on selecting the right stone, and the measuring team and installers were absolute professionals. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly took pride in their work. I actually dropped my contract with Lowe's and I'm so glad I did. I ended up with a much nicer stone for less money--and the entire process, from measurement to installation, was completed in just two weeks! They installed granite in both my kitchen and bathroom, and the way they matched the slabs between the counters and full heightbacksplash was perfection. The seams are beautiful, the workmanship is top-notch, and the final result exceeded my expectations. I'm beyond thrilled with how everything turned out. If you're looking for a company you can truly trust--one that combines friendliness, speed, expert guidance, and outstanding craftsmanship--I highly recommend Best Granite for Less.
