We ordered take out - a quart of mixed won ton egg drop soup, two egg rolls, a portion of shrimp toast, french fries, shrimp in lobster sauce and pineapple chicken. The front of the menu indicates various free items that will be provided at different spending levels - a free fried won ton with a purchase of $30 and up, an order of pineapple fried rice with a purchase of $35 and up and a free chicken with garlic sauce with a purchase of $45 and up. When I paid the bill, i asked the server what we would get for free. His response: "Next time." I then asked if he would give us a coupon for the free item. He said yes, but later, when we opened the bag, there was no coupon. There were no crisp noodles provided for the soup. I thought every Chinese restaurant includes noodles automatically. The soup, the main dishes, the french fries and the egg rolls were tasty, which is why I am giving a rating of 2. The shrimp toast looked like burnt coal and was barely edible. I would say when I open the container my food look okay. The smell of hot sauce when straight up my nose that I had to jump back like woah! But the taste of the chicken was ok and the rice was okay. Strangely the chicken didn't take spicy even tho hot sauce was on it weird right. Presentation was not great as you see in the pic. This place is hit or miss for me. Sometimes the food is fresh and ok but sometimes it's old and greasy--like tonight. Ribs were burnt, fried rice was mushy, chicken wings were burnt, dumplings were mushy and inside was overdone, egg rolls were burnt and greasy, general tso's chicken was overcooked. I tried to give them a second chance, but they ignored calling my phone when they arrived (claimed that it was ringing when I had my phone on me the entire time) and was banging on my door. I have a family member that needs the apartment to be quiet, hence I added on the delivery comments, but idk if that gets tossed out along with the phone number to contact the customer. I really do enjoy their bubble tea and the lemonade so maybe I'll just stick with drinks. Don't order from here. They change the price on you after you order and when they have your money in their hands. They say that there is an error on the menu. I advised them that they should tell people prior to making the dishbthat it costs more or that they should get a new menu. The fact that their menu reflects the wrong price is really not my problem. This is the best of the few Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. While I would never try the sushi, their standard Chinese fare is basically okay, the rice is generally overcooked, but other items are fine. They are pretty quick with delivery except if you call at peak times in the evening. Again, cannot complain as there is not too much to be offered in the area. read more

This is my wife's favorite Chinese take-out. We usually fight about where we are going to order. Either Kam fung down the street or Mr.Kam. If you are married, you already know that we are eating at Mr Kam's. This take out is also very good. It's very clean and brightly lit. Having just remodeled, they added a Japanese sushi wing to the already small place. There are two small stools where you can order sushi a la cart. Also they took out the gigantic gaudy lit painting that took up almost the entire side wall. The food here is very consistant and way above average. The chicken and broccoli are my kid's favorite and my wife loves the chicken and garlic sauce. I like the fried dumplings. It is lightly burnt on one side qiving it a hint of a smoky flavor. The quality of the meat is always good as the customers do not mind paying a tad more for it. The owners are very friendly and tries to engage in light conversation everytime I pick up my order. read more

Honestly, My family and I order Mr. Kam so much that they know exactly who I am when I call lol! The neighborhood has sketchy chinese places and all I can say is that it is really good. My favorites from them are: - The fried chicken wings (they are huge and crispy) - Chicken and Broccoli in garlic sauce or Chicken and shrimp with broccoli - Mei fun is good - Pork ribs -Green Plantains and they cater too!! This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. I've been eating here for almost 10 years. I stayed in Canarsie for a while and ate Chinese food from several locations in the neighborhood and the food was either unseasoned, too oily or had too much soy sauce. But Mr Kam is always on point. They are very friendly, especially to returning customers that they recognize, helpful and quick. I have never had a problem with this restaurant. I recommend anybody from anywhere to eat from here. Im an exterminator and i vouch that this restaurant is always clean and maintains the highest health inspection grade possible. read more
