cancelled My order within 15 mins of placing it. 430 in afternoon??? Great service. No explanation. We're closed.

I LOVE MR. Gs!! The food is so great, extremely reasonably priced and quick as can be. I have lived in Antioch for over 10 years and have been going there from the start. I'm from Chicago and its like a slice of home in a small town! Love the Gyro and Cheeseburgers and fries and onion rings!! LOL I could go on and on! If your thinking about going to McDonalds or any fast food for that matter, try here first. Better food for better prices!! How could you go wrong with that? Also, I LOVE the family of this family run business!! The whole staff is kind and prompt and AMAZING!! read more

Best place for chicago style food in the north suburbs. You really only come here for the gyros or hotdogs. Dont waste your time with anything else on the menu as they only have it up there for you picky people who dont know what real Chicago Style food is. I always have to stop here when visiting Chicago. Delicious!!! I heart Mr G's! read more

Great hot dog, Vienna beef, perfectly crafted, AND they gave me extra pickles for free. Great Chicago style restaurant, and incredibly nice staff. read more

This place blows Portillos out of the water!! Came to the Chicago area on vacation and I am a huge fan of the classic Chicago Dog. I have been to the area a few times before and am all to familiar with Portillos. Looking for something new and more local than a big chain I found Mr. G's not too far from my girlfriends house. With high expectations and an empty stomach we headed in! I got 3 Chicago dogs a kids hotdog meal and a soup all for under $15!! Talk about bang for your buck! As if I couldn't get any more pleased with the price points I sat down and waited for our food! In no time at all they called our order, we sat at a cute little table. I had an iced tea to drink, my Chicago dogs were absolutely incredible! My girlfriend loved hers as well and our friend crushed the kids meal with ease! I was a little nervous ordering a cup of soup from a place like this but have no fear! The cream of spinach soup was awesome! The staff was incredibly friendly and had a very local atmosphere. Long live Vienna Beef! read more

Been going to G's for 20+ years & it's always great!! Fast & friendly service, plus the only time the order was off was because they accidentally added a fry. One of the few reputable places around this area for consistently good eats :) read more

Go there all the time. Every time I get a gyro I ask for off the spit cause they cut it earlier and grill it if you don't. So this time I asked and asked again to make sure. He said yes of course!!! I watched the whole time they never cut any while I was standing there . So now again I'm eating reheated dry meat. If the customer asks specifically for something why not give it to them instead of lying about it.....I go there all the time for me and my employees. Well guess what........not any more. read more

Gryos are good.... BUT the fact that they can't invest in a proper to go cup fo size sauces/cheese is ridiculous! Come on.... I will pay an extra .50 cents to have my sauce to-go in a container that is plastic instead of thin paper with no top. So messy when you get home (which is 3 minutes for me) it is unreal. Very disappointing for me since I love this plave, but I'll just go down the street to Chicago Red Hots. read more

Been going here almost my entire life. This is hands down the best Gyros I have had in or out of the Antioch area. My father had known the owner for longer than I've been going here before he passed last November. read more

Its right next door to me so its hard to say no. The first time I went here I ordered an Italian beef. Bad choice.. The meat was thick and tough. Really really disappointing. But who knows.. Maybe I was just spoiled growing up with great Italian beefs. When I come here now I usually order the hotdog special. Their hot dogs arn't amazing but they hit the spot. I enjoy the gyros. Better yet the gyro salad. Which has fresh feta cheese and greek olives. That has to be my favorite. The owners and employees are pleasant. I know i'll be back. The biggest downside is that one time they forgot my fries. I called after realizing. They said they had a credit waiting for me. A few days later I went back to get my credit. They couldn't find it but decided to give it to me anyways. Once I got home I realized THEY FORGOT MY FRIES AGAIN. UGHHH... read more

Been out to Antioch Illinois to visit my daughter along with my husband Devin and my daughters favorite spot to eat is Mr G's Sandwich Shop. Every time we go and see her she always says hey mom can we go and eat at Mr G's and Devin and I always say sure babe. The First time Dev and I went there we thought the atmosphere was great and we loved how quiet it was. The first time we went I had there combo Italian sausage and beef and so did Dev and it was great. I also like the Gyro's Salad and there Hot Dogs there french fries and great too. We have yet to try there burgers but I know eventually we will because this place is really good and the owner is a great guy. So to Sum it up if your ever in Antioch and you see Mr G's stop on in and get some grub you'll love it. read more

Mr. G's is an Antioch staple that I frequent AT LEAST once a week. They have the BEST Gyro's I have ever had in my entire life. Also, the service is INCREDIBLY quick. I have never waited more than 5-7 minutes from getting in line till getting my food, even during their busiest times. The family who owns it is VERY friendly and are a reason we have always gone back. read more

Used to be good, last few times terrible, owner rude, baklava not good either, don't waste ur$ better places around. Gyro cold, pita stale , fried shrimp didn't even resemble shrimp. Poppers weren't even good. Owner said he would make shrimp again but he opens a bag puts it in fryer and couldn't guarantee there will be any shrimp next time.. I literally got breaded shrimp tails. Prob shouldn't have ordered in he first place but how could they serve that... It went in the garbage! read more

Mr G's - supposed to be fried shrimp..actually just breaded tails and he one that was a shrimp was so small and gray... Totally disgusting! - Greek Near Me - Antioch, Illinois

I love this place. Their gyros are great. I've tried the original gyro and chicken gyro and enjoyed both. The prices are so reasonable as well. Today I tried the ranch chicken wrap and loved it. It's great when you want something healthier. I've tried a bite of the cod sandwich which ws surprisingly yummy and crispy. read more

One of my local favorite spots to grab a beef. Very tasty and juicy. Their fries are always hit and fresh. Love coming here.

I've gone to at least 20 different gyros places - from south Chicago to Antioch. Mr G's is one of the best gyros I've had and they are consistent !! The gyros are great, the fries are great! If you've noticed, the people that have given reviews around the 3 star range talked about the other food than the gyros..... it's like ordering a hot dog at a Chinese place then complaining about it....really? I've been to Nino's and Fodrak's as well. They are no better than Mr. G's, 'Miss 2-star'.....I'm sure you work there or are family to the owners of the other places..... read more

I went to Mr. G's for the first time this past weekend craving a good Gyro! The gyro itself was actually very good but the one thing that just killed it was the sauce was horrible! One of my 2 side cups of sauce was like water, the other was thick but had literally no flavor. Like I kept tasting it thinking it was me. And nobody wants to get home and eat a dry gyro. I would come back in an instant if the sauce tasted normal or I knew I wouldnt get 1 cup that just looked like creamy water because the gyro meat itself was very good. It sucks when youre first experience is bad. read more

Mr G's - Gyro Plate - Greek Near Me - Antioch, Illinois

Always good food! Most of the time I order to go and never has the order been wrong when I get home. Try the chicken gyro...its yummy!

Mr. G's is one of our go to spots when visiting my bf's family. It's an unpretentious place with good and pretty cheap food. I like that they have the spits for the meat and they are definitely not chintzy with the sauce. I have had better gyros but for the price and quantity.. Mr. G's can't be beat. read more

I have visited this location several times and the consistency remains the same. The portions are filling and the staff are always pleasant. I recommend chili cheese fries and the combo ( beef and sausage ) sandwich and to wash it down with a chocolate shake. . read more

Missing that good ol' greasy gyros? Tired of the supper club scene? Been golfing or boating too much and need a Chicago dog or Italian beef? Is Antioch getting further and further from Chicago by the minute even though it has become a suburb? Starting to feel like a cheesehead? Here ya go! The only thing missing is "cheeseburger cheeseburger". (ref. to the Billy Goat for you non-Chicagoans) And before I forget, the Gyros Platter can feed four!!!!!!!! read more

Great gyro's and hot dogs, otherwise a typical hotdog/hamburger/fries joint. which I like and the kids like after football. One recommendation is buy better quality burgers, people will pay for them. read more

Best Gyros in town hands down! My parents and I have been going here since I was a kid. They're very fast as well, so it's a great place to go on your break. I'd definitely recommend the Gyro Plate, sooo good and you'll definitely have leftovers! read more

Average hot dog joint. Hot dog/fries price average. Nothing special, just a place to grab a quick bite that doesn't suck

Living close, I've never been charged anything but what is stated. Their service is FAST. Always courteous. Been going there 20 years. You try them, you'll see. Bad review must have some other intent; maybe from the person who stole their contribution milk jug for our food pantry here. Try the It beef. Tons of meat, and nearly a whole gr pepper if you want grn ppr. Yum. read more

I have been getting gyros from Mr G's for years, they were the best. But...in the past few months they haven't been as good. I thought maybe he started using different gyro meat. I just had one today and it was not tasty at all. The sauce was so bland and the meat just not like it used to be a year ago. I might have to try elsewhere. This hurts me to say. read more

I would highly recommend Mr. G's for anyone visiting Antioch or for a Lake Co. resident looking for a good gyro. I have been going here for years and have always consistently been served quality foods. Extremely fast service coupled with great Italian beefs and gyros. Mr G's is an institution in Antioch. They have the best value on their meals and always great people in there to take your order and fill it to the brim. Even when I want to eat healthy, their grilled chicken salad is awesome, along with the chicken on the pita, but the standard hamburger and fries has got to be the best value in town. Keep it up... read more

It's good food me and my fiancé have been going here since I've moved to Wisconsin also 2 years ago

I wasn't impressed by this place at all. I ordered a gyro and fries and I've definitely had better. Try out Nino's gyros in Lindenhurst or Fodraks in Libertyville and you'll understand what i'm talking about. read more

So cold in restaurant it was impossible to enjoy my lunch. The food I ordered was immediately cold. Won't go back.

Very disappointed that since I cannot eat seeds that I would either have to pay extra for two bottoms or the person I was with would get two tops of the hamburger buns. Will have to think twice to go there again. read more

Great chicken gyros and fries platter. Excellent Italian Beef sandwiches. Very reasonable prices.

Yes I am a big fan of their gyros. It is the freshest and not greasy. The only reason for only a 4 star rating is that I wish their sauce was thicker, it is a bit too runny for me. Mayby they should use greek yogurt because it sure is not as thick as they show in their pictures. read more

We heard some alright things about this location, so we decided to try it since we moved to Antioch. Either our friends have a bland appetite or they don't get out much. I ordered an Italian beef dipped with cheese sauce and my fiancé ordered a burger. We also ordered some Mac n' Cheese bites because who doesn't love those! Well my Italian beef was interesting. The bread was fine, no complaints. I am pretty sure there was butter on it? Not entirely sure but it wasn't dipped and the cheese cause was mediocre. The meat itself was pretty bland with not much flavor, but I also had no au juice to compare anything to. My fiancé's burger wasn't bad actually! I would have much rather had that then the Italian beef that I got. But holy crap, our Mac n cheese bites were odd. There was some pieces of something in there that we were a little concerned about. It tasted a lot like bacon, or ham of some sorts. We don't eat pork. So we respectfully brought them back up with our concern and the guy was so kind and offered to make us something else. The reason why I am rating this place two stars (aside from the okay food) is because of the older lady who works there. I don't know if it is the wife, mother or daughter of this establishment but the way she handled herself was beyond me. She overheard us bring the Mac n cheese bites up and insisted that it was not bacon/ham. That's fine, I don't mind that. But the tone in her voice was nasty. She kept telling my fiancé that he was wrong and it's peppers. She even said she was going to bring the box of frozen Mac n Cheese bites to the front so he can read the label himself. I was just sitting there dumbfounded by her reaction of us not liking these Mac n cheese bites. Meanwhile that was going on, another employee came up to me and asked if those were mine and I replied "yeah". She said she thought the same thing but reassured me that it wasn't meat. All I told her was "regardless of whether it is meat or not they really aren't that good, and we don't want to consume some mystery food". Now, the really nice guy was making us some cheese sticks and wasn't making this an issue at all, because it wasn't until the lady had to butt in the situation it became an issue. Then she had the audacity to let every single customer in line know that went up to order their food what just happened. They don't care, we didn't care that much, and you made this a horrible experience. read more
