My project was for a small bathroom remodel and "the crew" consisted of Josue and and his brother. On Day 1 of the job Josue wasn't present for the entire day and eventually left his brother to finish up the work for the day. Day 2 arrives and Josue is pretty much absent the whole day which was alarming since the workload for Day 2 would definitely entail the bulk of the work. I'd arrived home on Day 2 of the project and frequently went back to check on the progression of the project. At first glance, I noticed that one of the two light fixtures was higher than the other. This was appalling and I would think that his brother would have taken notice too and corrected it. The placement was so bad that I could literally see the hole behind the baseplate of the fixture where the wiring goes. I advised him that it needed to be corrected and lined up with the other fixture but there was a language barrier so he ended up calling Josue who'd been out and about on other business. What transpired next was basically a three way video chat between myself, Josue and his brother with me addressing my concerns to Josue and him relaying the information to his brother. His brother made the adjustment to the light as I'd asked, although it would ultimately still not be level and would need to be adjusted again on Day 3 of the project. His brother also plumbed the vanity prior to confirming placement with us which prompted another 3 way video chat with Josue. Consequently, I informed Josue via video chat to tell his brother to unhook all of the plumbing so that we could position the vanity where we actually wanted it-- his brother then proceeds to unhook all of the plumbing before eventually taking a lunch. After his brother returns from lunch, I eventually grow frustrated with not being able to communicate with him directly and had him call Josue on the phone for another video chat. I knew the scope of the rest of the work and it would entail at least two guys. I address my concerns with Josue and urge him that he should be present to assist and guide his brother. Josue claimed to have several other engagements for that day and unfortunately would not be able to make it to my home on the day my project was set to be completed. He basically left his brother there to tackle the project on his own and his brother wasn't doing the level of work I'd expected. I basically tell Josue that it's unacceptable and that I hired him as the licensed contractor to take charge of my job so I wasn't quite understanding how he's barely been there at this point. He apologizes but tells me he has other commitments so we mutually agree that his brother pack up for the day but they would both be there the following day to complete the project. Day 3 arrives and the crew arrives on time and begin work immediately. I'll just mention the few things that took place on Day 3 which is what ultimately led to me leaving this 3 star review. My girlfriend and I were called back to confirm placement of the medicine cabinets. The cabinets had several pre drilled mounting holes behind the mirrors that you could use anchors or screws in order to mount to the wall. Josue opted to not use anchors and screw the mirrors directly to the studs which was fine. The problem is that one of them drilled two screws right through the front part of the medicine cabinet to the stud. We should have been consulted prior to drilling additional holes into a beautiful cabinet when there were plenty of other mounting options behind the mirror that will also line up with the stud. Later, I wander back to the bathroom and notice that the backsplash on the vanity has thinner caulking on the right side and much thicker caulking on the left side. When asked why it looks that way, Josue replies, " your wall is bent". I turn away puzzled but later discover that if they simply pushed the left side of the vanity flush against the wall as they'd done the right then the excessive amount of caulking wouldn't have been necessary since both sides of the backsplash would have been flush against the wall. Overall, Josue is a nice guy who charges a fair price and does decent work. However, the main reasons for my 3 star review is the fact that Josue was pretty much non-existent for the first 2 days of my project and left his brother to fend for himself, yet his brother clearly lacks the experience and knowledge that he has. Furthermore, the errors they made during the remodel could have been avoided had they consulted us prior to actually doing anything. They would literally do the work first then consult with us after the fact. This could have easily been a 4 or 5 star project but it's simple mistakes, a lack of attention to detail, and not being present in general for the first couple of days that earned you 3 stars. read more

We needed someone to help fix an issue with our rain gutter and had contacted several companies that did not even bother to respond and the one that did respond was a roofing company that wanted thousands of dollars (they wanted to replace the roof!). I contacted Mr G not really sure if he would be able to address our issue but had fingers crossed! He is very quick to respond and called when he said he would and when he and his assistant came to fix our gutter issue, the fee was very reasonable. I hired Josue to renovate both bathrooms in my house. They were very outdated and thanks to Josue's hard work, they are now modern. He took out the old vanities and installed new ones; he removed the old lighting fixtures and installed new ones; he put in new mirrors as well. While he was here, he also informed me of a broken valve outside which I had him fix as well. His pricing is very reasonable and he is easy to work with.
