We were 3 hours from home so decided to go home and come back when the camper was fixed. They were true to their word - they estimated the repairs needed on a Wed and had it done for us by COB that Friday! With new bearings on all 4 wheels, and brake service on the seized wheel completed, we picked up the camper today and got home before dark. I can't recommend R and H enough. The care and empathy, and honesty shown by everyone here is so welcomed in this day and age of only hearing about bad experiences with businesses. The mechanic took 5 seconds looking and listening.... magically he pulls his head out from under the hood and says its the alternator. It needs to be replaced. Ok so i authorize the repair which included a new alternator, new tensioner pulley and a new serpentine belt. I came back the next day and paid a wopping $850 just so i wouldn't hear the noise anymore. Low and behold , once i finished paying, the same mechanic piped in and said " By the way... uhh youre still goimg to hear that grinding because you need a new AC compressor." . Thats a $900 dollar additional repair. In short, they got me for an $850 repair that i didn't need. I tried contacting them several times to resolve the issue and never received a call back. I was forced to pay a more reputable shop to actually fix the problem like professionals. AVOID BAYSIDE AUTO SERVICE AT ALL COST. They are more concerned with profit over quality.
