Omg must try scallion noodles with hot oil in it you can inhale finishing the plate right away and craving for more once you have it!! When you to go their food make sure to pour not the whole thing of sauce rather mix it well as you adjust the sauce otherwise it will be too salty! Great soup inside of pork soup dumplings! It was so good!!! :)

So happy I finally visited this restaurant. The soup dumplings are some of the best I've had in Brooklyn! They're served super hot and the skin is super thin. Everything we ordered was delicious but I highly recommend the scallion pancake with meat so good! The cucumbers were addicting and the beef and tripe was also delicious The service is no frills but very fast. The restaurant was clean with cute anime decor!

I gave this place a second try recently even though I thought they were mediocre my first time. The xiao long baos just weren't as good as the nearby Shanghai lius but since lius xlbs went downhill, I didn't feel like I was losing anything with mr bun. If you've ever tried the frozen xlb brand laoban, I actually think laobans is better than xlb. I do think Mr buns pan fried pork buns are pretty yummy though, I'll give them that. My friend also said that's what she likes from Mr bun so maybe that's why they're called Mr bun...

The place had a warm, comfortable fun feel about it, and the service was amazing! I asked the waiter " Whats good?" And he didn't disappoint! I got the scallion beef (delicious) and some of the best soup dumplings I have had in a long time! Pork soup and the crab meat and pork dumplings- DELICIOUS! I plan on coming back very soon. This place is definitely on point!

This has been my go to for xiao long bao! The skin is not thick, it doesn't break and enough soup. One of my favorite XLB place! We got the crabmeat and pork, both really good. Their other dishes are good as well. Their scallion pancake was very crispy and not too oily but wish there was a dipping sauce! The house fried rice was good too, lots of ingredients in it.. which is always a plus. There's also free WiFi which is nice! Will definitely come back!

Soup dumplings was good for craving, the hot and sour soup was good. Bathroom was alright. the light meal was a calm snack. There is big enoki mushroom in the soup which was nice to eat and share with.

3.5/5 I think the menu is a bit limited for me to warrant another visit, but the soup dumplings and pan fried buns were pretty good! It's very slow though on the weekends since it gets packed quickly, but the food comes out at snail paces Soup Dumplings: actually very soupy! The taste is clean and juicy, definitely some good soup dumpling filling. However, the skin is on the thicker/drier/flour-y side. Won't wow you, but good on a cold day and gets the cravings satisfied Pan Fried Buns: oooh these are actually sooo juicy as well! Normally I hate buns because there's just so much dough/bread and it's so thick, but I didn't mind these thicker buns since it was soooo soft! Flufffy juicy bites of goodness. Crispy bottoms! If only it was a bit more stuffed tho Scallion Noodles: definitely needed more scallion flavor but it was still good. The noodles itself weren't what I was expecting for this dish as I usually have it with the thinner/straight noodles but these were wavy like ramen noodles. I enjoyed it, but it was also the saddest portion for $7.50. Even FJ peanut butter noodles give you more than this Beef and Tripe/Husband and Wife: I didn't enjoy this as much, it needed the cilantro and kick, as it was just oily without much flavor

Came here for family dinner on Sunday night 4/23. They are always a great solution for large parties. We came at 7:45pm for a party of 7 adults + 1 baby in high chair. We ordered a couple of appetizers to share (mostly vegetarians because of my Sister-in-law). Pork soup dumplings is a must!!! Each person order their own dish or shared with another couple. The Shepherd's Purse dumpling surprised us as it was in soup and we thought it was vegetarian. There was a slight mix up with my order as they cooked the wrong dish and I had to wait abit longer. I ordered Shredded Pork with Pickled Cabbage Rice Cake and they brought out the House Special fried Rice Cake which had shrimp, pork and chicken. I can't eat shrimp (half of us at the table that can't eat it and the rest can). There is lax service so you have to wave them over constantly for hot tea/cold water refill or request additional napkins. They don't bus the empty dishes until the end. We just stack them in the middle for more space. We ordered: 3 pork soup dumplings Marinated jellyfish 1 hot&sour soup Cucumber salad 4 happiness (4 types of braised vegetables include wheat gluten=Hong Shao Kao Fu, 红烧烤麸 ) Shepherd's Purse dumpling Baby Shrimp with Salted Egg Yolk and Tofu Chicken with Eggplant Bok Choy with Garlic Vegetable stir fried Udon Beef Fried Rice Shredded Pork with Pickled Cabbage Rice Cake

04.12.2024 Friday @ 7:01pm Walk-in for a table of 3. First time eat in. I usually order take out. Only two girls in the front, service was pretty slow. Took long time to take order and even to give and take the bills.

This is a solid spot if you're looking for XLB and in the area. Here's a quick breakdown of what to get: - Kao fu tofu: Cold appetizer that has woodear mushrooms, tofu, and bamboo shoots. Solid dish - Green onion pancake: Worth a try, but nothing special - Crab & Shrimp XLB: Juicy dumplings, thin skin, great flavorful soup. Worth getting - Pork XLB: Similar to the above, great for people that like the thin skinned XLB and soup full of flavor - Pan Fried Pork Buns: These were a little bit of a miss. Less juice than expected and the bottom wasn't overly crispy. The waitstaff was nice and this place will definitely do if you're searching out XLB in the area. Service was pretty quick and all the food came out hot.

Soup dumplings are delicious and a reasonable price. The service was good and quick. Nice place to go for a lunch or even dinner.

Online on the uber eats app they showed the house special as completely different then what I got, the food has a weird mix of veggies and chicken and beef and shrimp and the soup base looks nothing like the picture

Also, it didn't come with any soup noodles. The scallion pancakes were very thick, and also tasted off. The 1 inch sauce container was only 1/4 filled and the sauce was extremely saucy. The general tso sauce was super thick, gooey and gelatinous, and the fried rice that came with it tasted more like steamed white rice with soy sauce than anything fried. I try Chinese take-out from various spots throughout southern Brooklyn at least 2-3 times a month, and this was really disappointing.

We arrived on a Saturday night around 6pm and it was packed; there were two parties ahead of us so we opted to put our name down and wait approximately 15-20, which I thought was pretty reasonable. They arrange the tables to optimize space for the following parties, so you might just get lucky with the seating arrangements. As most Chinese establishments, service was fast-paced, but we never felt rushed at any point of the meal despite the hustle and bustle. We ordered a few items for our party of 4 to share: 1. SCALLOP AND PORK SOUP DUMPLINGS: Surprisingly was a fan of this. There were big chunks of scallops in the meat. Gave the meat a bit of a bounce, but wasn't tough or chewy either. Normally would order crab at most soup dumpling spots, but scallop was new to me. Would get this again. 2. PORK SOUP DUMPLINGS: I commend them for an actual juicy and soupy filling. The pork was seasoned well and we had a whole spoonful of soup from each dumpling. The skin was a little thick for my liking. My judgment of soup dumpling is usually determined by the skin and this one didn't exactly meet the criteria. 3. FRIED WONTONS IN PEANUT AND HOT SAUCE: The star of the show! This was the dish that everyone seems to rave about and what we actually came for. The wontons were fried to a perfect crisp; they were actually crunchy and maintained that despite being dredged in sauce. I felt like there was a bit of a sugary caramelization to it, which balanced out the salty component of the dish. This whole dish encompassed every category in the flavor and texture department. 4. BEEF IN BLACK PEPPER SAUCE: I could've done without this tbh. There were a lot of onions in this, which I have no complaint about, but I wasn't trying to get my money's worth of onions here LOL. Black pepper sauce wasn't anything special either. I actually forgot that it was black pepper sauce because it wasn't peppery enough. 5. SHANGHAI RICE CAKES: The rice cakes had a pleasant chew to it and the sauce coated it evenly. I wish the rice cakes had a little more char to it so it would be more fragrant. Good, but not life changing. Overall a pleasant experience and certainly met expectations. There were some dishes that I liked more than others and some that I could do without. Probs wouldn't make the trip here frequently, but the wontons are definitely worth the trip!

However, the real negative here is the operations. It is a chaotic mess for the volume they are trying to do. It's not about adding more manpower, it's about streamlining. Tables are sitting empty while people are on the waitlist (not due to reservations), orders are going to the wrong tables, to-go orders are in disarray and have to be re-verified on multiple orders, and it takes a long time to get some water. The Yelp waitlist is useless here - wait was supposed to be 5-10 minutes and it turned into almost 40. All this could have been avoided with more planning, better organization, and training. Food was quite good, though overpriced a bit. We had the soup dumplings, sweet and sour fish, beggar chicken (with a small show), ham and vegetable clay pot rice, and a veggie dish. It was all delish! I especially loved the rice and hope to replicate it at home. Osthmanthus dessert (warm) wasn't good, I probably should have gotten the cool one. Service left a lot to be desired, which may be due to it being so busy. Hard to get staff to ask questions about the order. For the prices, one would think service would be exceptional. The staff were busy and seemed annoyed at requests for water, tea, etc. I would try it again on a less busy weekend.
