I had a frustrating experience with Ernie's RV & Trailer Repair…read more I brought in my Class C RV because I wanted a proper inspection, specifically to have the brake pads checked. Another shop had already told me they couldn't lift the RV, which is exactly why I sought out a place that could handle a full inspection. When I scheduled the appointment, I clearly explained this situation and my expectations. The day after I dropped off the rig, I received a call saying the RV was ready and that nothing was wrong. I was charged about $280. When I arrived to pick it up, I asked for an inspection report or details on what was checked, and it became clear there was confusion. After asking directly what work had been done, I was told they had only performed an oil change. This was extremely frustrating because that was not what I brought the RV in for. I had been very clear that I needed a full inspection due to the previous shop not being able to lift it. They did offer for me to bring the RV back at another time, but when I asked about the cost for the inspection, I was quoted over $450 on top of the $280 I had already paid. This pricing was never discussed when I scheduled the appointment. Overall, my concerns are: -Lack of communication about pricing upfront. They need more transparency on their pricing and other reviews suggest the same -Not paying proper attention to the customer's request -Failing to perform the service that was requested There was no effort to offer a discount or solution to make up for the inconvenience. I wanted to give them a chance despite some pricing concerns posted on prior Yelp reviews, but unfortunately, my experience confirmed those issues. To be fair, the staff were friendly and professional. They are nice folks but, they need to work on some issues. In the future, I will be driving a few extra miles to get better and more competitive service.

I was told if there was anything wrong I would be contacted promptly. After 2 weeks and no posting on there web page I grew suspicious. I contacted John with no return call, I waited another 2 weeks and finally got a hold of John Coumbs. He the told me He had been meaning to call but just kept forgetting for the last 2 weeks. It seems they found an issue with my rv and declined to sell it. I arranged for pickup and showed up to do so and he informed me they had been broken into in the secure lot and my batteries and propane tanks were taken. He did replace the batteries and tanks and said the tanks were full and ready to go. I should have double checked and when I did they were empty. A $500.00 deposit was paid for said services and nothing was returned. I had asked for a detailed list of there check out and never received one after repeated requests. I asked there Tech who checked it out and he said the unit was good and he would use with no worries. John's repeated lies, forgetfulness, misleading have lead me to NEVER NEVER do business with this company again. If they did not want to sell and contacted me right away I would be fine. However John's lies, misleading, lies, and lack of communication I would/could never recommend this company to anyone.

Failed to refill master cylinder after brake bleed, 2nd brake failure. They wanted me to drive it back to their shop with no brakes so they could work on it. Will not leave their shop to look at the vehicle to assess problem. Fortunately, only minor damage to vehicle after two brake failures. Things could have been a lot worse. The father seems to do good work. The son needs supervision. No regard for customer inconvenience or safety. Office hours make it very hard to leave or pick your vehicle. As you are aware, my father, Ed Johnston, recently made a complaint about your company. I am Ed's…read moredaughter. I, too, feel the need to make a formal complaint. After my father's truck left your facility where you allegedly repaired the front breaks and master cylinder, I happened to be the driver of the truck only a few days later. I was driving the truck on Marvin Road to my place of employment and the breaks failed. This caused me to skid through a round-about, brushing the mirror on a yield sign, which also knocked the front driver's hub cap off. Luckily, I came to a stop only a few feet from hitting the concrete within the center of the round-about. This accident could have been much, much worse. Again, please recall that the truck had just left your shop a few short days before this. My father had paid 1200 dollars for this "repair." This was a very scary and alarming experience for me. I know that accidents do happen and so do mistakes. However, your repair shop simply did a poor job which ended in a potentially disastrous outcome. My initial issue was not that a poor job was done by your company. It was the response that my father and I received afterward. My father's complaint details the very truthful events which ensued in the aftermath. As a result of this accident and then our inability to resolve the matter with you, the truck stayed parked in my driveway for a very long period of time. I don't think you have an adequate grasp on the impact your poor work quality had on our lives. I kindly request that instead of lashing back at me as though I have done something wrong by writing this, you take a few moments to reflect on your role in this and what you can do as a company to simply not allow this to happen again. Do better. Be better. Your work was a complete failure and it is you who should have taken the initiative to make it right. And you did not. This is a reflection of poor character and poor work ethic. Lastly, your reply to my father had multiple inaccuracies in it. I'm not from Bellingham. The truck has never been in Bellingham. I'm practically your neighbor, right here in Olympia. Which should have made your ability to do right thing much, much easier.

Interstate automotive gets 1 star ONLY because there is not an option to do LESS. The fiasco…read morestarted with Robert Steffen many months ago when I took my classic auto in for a transmission leak. He kept it a while & then sent it back to me. The transmission still leaked, but it was a smaller leak. I had to take the car back again and it was now winter. I was assure that the car would be kept inside, in dry storage. Robert proceeded to take nearly 3 months to finish up- in the meantime, I was asking him what was going on and if my car was OK. He assured me it was just fine. And another bill for $1288.00 . When I picked the car up it was FAR FROM FINE - completely wet on the inside with mold and mildew growth, the headliner falling out, and panels ruined. Robert is unapologetic and obviously doesn't care that he ruined the interior of my nice classic vehicle. One of his first responses was " I guess I can't take nice cars here anymore!" I tried to file an insurance claim but my insurance doesn't cover that type of damage . It would be easy for Robert to step up and do the right thing; but obviously he doesn't care about the people that pay his wages. In addition, there were chips in my driver side door. Just to repair the basics, not the whole scope of damage his negligence caused is over $3000.00. I would be very careful and dealing with the shop and this man because he has zero integrity as a human being .
