Overwhelming with choices of sandwiches and various craft made fare both breakfast and lunch. We had lunch their were overwhelmed with options in a good way. I had The Godfather, on a wedge roll... HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Delicious, plenty of meat and the bread was perfection. My wife, travel partner and taste companion opted for the Creek: Turkey, Granny-smith apples slices, cheddar and green goddess dressing on a croissant... also very good, and she notes that the croissant was "sturdy" enough to handle the sandwich. I love the laid-back feel of Mt. Pleasant, and this location of Mozzo fits right in. Perfect place to linger over the many breakfast choices and great coffee. Located just across the parking lot from a Starbucks, but miles away when it comes to the local vibe. Easy choice to support local business. We had the 3 Pig Breakfast Sandwich (bacon, sausage, ham, egg & cheese, $6.50) and a Cinnamon Raisin Bagel with Cinnamon Raisin Walnut cream cheese. Both were prepared to order and scrumptious first bite to last. The hard-working staff was both friendly and trusting, "you can pay us now, or when you're finished, doesn't matter". While the food is good, you can NEVER get through by phone. I ordered a large lunch order online and several items were not put into our order box at pickup. Tried calling nine times to get the issue corrected and couldn't get a person to answer. Terrible way to do business, terrible customer service. I ordered one breakfast burrito and it was not ready for 30 minutes so I politely asked for them to check on it. They said that there were multiple tickets still in front of it and I said ok and continued to wait. Then 15 more minutes go by and I still havent got my ONE item. Solid place for breakfast sandwich. Little expensive but very tasty. Line to order is usually pretty long on Sundays but moves pretty quickly and worth the wait. I got the steak egg and pepper jack cheese sandwich with chipotle mayo and it was delicious. Added some hot sauce on it and it hit the spot. I've never loved their sweet tea as it seems a bit too syrupy. Wife got egg and cheese croissant and enjoyed as well. We'll be back! read more

I've been to Mozzo three times in the last two weeks, so, yeah, I think it's safe to say I'm a fan. They have a TON of sandwich options, as well as some burgers, salads, soup, breakfast items and sides (pasta and potato salads, etc.) Also, pastries, cookies and the like. You seriously can't go wrong. So far I've tried The Godfather (salami, ham, pepperoni etc), the Boulevard (roast beef, cheddar, horseradish etc) and the Balboa (grilled roast beef, grilled onions, mozzarella and garlic butter) ... all three were awesome. Driving home, the aromas of the Balboa wafted through the car and it took every ounce of self control to wait until I made it home to tear into the package. You can change up the bread, even opting to make your sandwich a wrap. But I've found the suggested kaiser roll for the Boulevard is the way to go. The shop has plenty of seating indoors and a few tables outside. And even with a line of customers piling through at the lunch hour, the crew gets their job done. And done well. It's not a fancy shop. No "artisanal" sandwiches or salads. But like I said, menu options are plenty and the food is super, super good. read more

I love this place and make it a regular lunch (and occasional breakfast spot) during the week. It's a traditional deli with a tremendous selection of sandwiches, burgers, pasta salads, soups, omelettes, and all the usual side items you'd expect to find. I've been coming here for over two years and have never had a bad experience in terms of the quality of the food - everything I've tried has tasted great. My particular favorite right now is "The Driller" - a hot roast beef on ciabatta with muenster cheese, tiny onion straws, and topped off with dijonnaise. Absolutely delightful. So why the four stars? Be prepared to wait. Their system for taking orders is interesting - you stand in line as it slowly inches forward, and then wait patiently until a cook comes up to take your order. Here's where it gets interesting - the person who takes your order is then responsible for making and delivering the entire order to your table. No assembly lines at this establishment. Honestly, I'm not sure if it's more efficient than other methods or not - but my sense is there might be a better way to do it. So either call ahead or walk in when you're not in a hurry to enjoy a menu that has yet to let me down. read more

You don't need me to tell you that the food served at Mozzo is fresh and made to order. You've already been convinced (or should be) that when you're in Mount Pleasant ... whether you're just passing through, or running around town and want a GREAT breakfast or lunch platter, sandwich or salad ... the place to go is Mozzo. Yeah, it's down right shabby and guys behind the counter multi task and don't wear gloves ... but, the comments have been mixed regarding Mozzo's service and I feel this is where I must jump in. Top line ... I've never encountered 'attitude' or anything less than great customer service. In late 2012, we were sitting in our empty house off Rifle Range Road waiting for our furniture to arrive ... it was lunch time and we were hungry. I called my realtor and asked for a suggestion for great takeout. She quickly suggested Mozzo Deli and added, "You'll love it." The place was packed, yet orderly. I loved the vibe. I loved the fact that I could make my selections among overhead black boards. There were tons of choices. Everything sounded wonderful. Top line, our pastrami and Swiss on rye sandwiches were heavy and delicious. I was sold and I intended to return ... often. I returned to Mozzo the next day to check out their breakfast offerings. It was after the 'rush' and the owner, Shannon, was in the front of the house. I found him friendly and very personable. (I unexpectedly returned to work ... so, lunch at Mozzo, for me, would be on hold.) Over the past 2 1/2 years, I have stopped at Mozzo for breakfast, either to take out or eat in, probably close to 75 times ... always, for a Whitey (fresh cracked egg whites, fresh spinach, grilled red onions, turkey and Swiss). Sometimes, I've added mushrooms or substituted ham. Sometimes, I've ordered it as a sandwich. Sometimes, on a platter. Sometimes, as an omelette, sometimes, all scrambled up. Sometimes, with an everything bagel (my fave) toasted dark with cream cheese on the side. Sometimes, stuffed into a wrap that's been pressed and cut in thirds so I could stuff my face while I drove to work. No one ever hesitated over my special requests, or substitutions. I've never been on the receiving side of a poor attitude. On a rare occasion, I've had 2 eggs over easy, with gooey, melted Muenster and crispy bacon on a double toasted everything bagel ... but, I always return to my Whitey. It is always perfect! Everyone behind the counter greets me by the name and treats me by respect ... even during the breakfast rush on weekends. Mozzo's is a very casual deli, with an impressive menu. It's pretty much basic sandwiches and sides but has a wide variety of both. A dozen or more good looking burgers on the menu for example. I've been a customer at Mozzo for years and am a regular. I had an experience here today, however, which was so horrible that it ruined not only my day, but this deli for me. My dad was with me, and while ordering his sandwich, he asked the employee taking our order which bread he recommended for his sandwich choice. The employee replied, "oh I don't know... white bread? You don't look like you're on a diet or watching what you're eating". I'd like to recommend that as a restaurant, you give the advice to your employees to not comment on customer's bodies as they're ordering food. It was extremely mean. My coworker and I decided to try this place for lunch yesterday while we were out running other errands. While neither of us had ever been here the menu looked very good. When we entered the place was packed and the line was around the corner. The line did however move quickly. When we got to the counter to order I ordered the godfather pressed, on a kaiser roll, add Munster cheese. I was thinking since I ordered it pressed that it was going to be smushed with grill marks, the bread warm and the meat cold. Since we didn't have enough time to sit in and eat we got it to go. Once we got back to the office and I opened up my sandwich it was not pressed at all or the bread warm. There was plenty of meat on it to be filling. I however didn't like the roll as it was dry and bready. I will go back again and try the same sandwich just a different way as I might have misunderstood the ordering. A true deli experience! Walk in and the walls are covered in chalkboards of choices. They have every type of sandwich you could imagine. There was a bit of a line but it moved quickly at midday. There is a case full of fresh and appetizing pasta, potato and other classic cold salads. I ended up going with the honey slider upon recommendation, with the pimento cheese pasta salad and the tortellini salad. The sandwich was great! A good portion of thinly sliced turkey with crispy bacon on a fresh kaiser roll. It felt like a sandwich my dad would make for me back home.
