Smug joint . Only a few patrons. Looks like a locals hang out. Cambria is a high end town. Expensive eateries and art galleries. Although we googled this bar and read a couple of negative reviews on Foreign visitors being rejected because of ID's not being acceptable when they were their actual countries legal document. We still gave this place a chance. Should of skipped it after reviews. This saloon looked cool, old time rugged but bartender very rude right off the bat. No welcome just focused on dog and putting on a show for his patrons who were sitting at bar. He could of came up to us and politely explained their rules instead of announcing to all. Place came up as dog friendly until we got there and we were basically told only certified trained dogs were allowed . Emotional support does not qualify, quote unquote . Dog friendly should be changed to calif service dogs for this place. And by the way it's a cash only bar. read more

Ummm! This is like the best Saloon in the central coast! We had a blast here. It's cozy and I love the dark ambiance. Servers are friendly and serve a nice stiff drink. You will notice that this place has a buttery scent, that's because the popcorn machine is always going! This is definitely the place to unwind and hang with the locals. read more

Worst manager ever ! I came in pulled money out of the ATM ,had to go to the bathroom . While waiting in line to go to the bathroom, the manager badgered me about being a customer. Went to order a drink she was extremely rude . Being a local I will never come here again. I will miss you, Mozzi's ... but not her. You need to find a new manager. read more

It is my absolute pleasure to write this review update! As you may have read below, I visited Mozzi's several times over several years on visits to my beloved getaway of Cambria, and had never once been served. As a lover of dive bars with deep respect for locals and culture, I only wanted to partake of the coolness of this great town. Every time I walked by, I wistfully wondered if I would ever get the chance. And that day finally came. My friend and I were in town for a girls getaway and I was telling her the story of Mozzi's defeating me, and my little barfly heart just couldn't take it anymore. She was game for an adventure, and we headed over on Saturday night around 9 pm! We walked right in, it was pretty quiet inside, got 2 seats at the bar, were greeted very nicely by the bartender, and proceeded to have a very lovely night sipping our drinks and having those kind of conversations that always happen side by side on bar stools. This all might sound a bit melodramatic, but that's the point - it shouldn't be a big deal to have a quiet drink in a dive bar in a small town, because my money is as good as everyone's, and I will never be a troublemaker. I just want a good cocktail and to listen to some tunes with my people! I'm glad that finally happened. I have no idea why it took so long, but I'm so glad that Mozzi's is now welcoming to all. Heavy pours, friendly staff, local vibe - for about 60 minutes I was blissed right out. So thank you to the team at Mozzi's - it may have been a normal Saturday night for most, but for me it was a life moment. You never know when something you do or say could have a big impact on someone's life! So why not be gracious and welcoming. And now I look forward to RETURNING to Mozzi's! read more

Dive bar at its finest and who doesn't like great dive bars! Found that locals are friendly and welcome travelers and tourists. First smell upon entering was freshly popped popcorn. Free popcorn to snack on while downing a few. The bar was clean and even the glass shelves and liquor bottles behind the bar. Didn't see any dusty bottles - proof that the bartenders take pride in keeping the place clean. They have a pool table near the fireplace. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. There is a small smoking patio out back. Both bartenders were friendly. They advised they have tacos on certain days and karaoke on Thursday nights that one of the bartenders advised he runs. I observed several packs of women come in and could tell the felt comfortable as the stayed quite a while and were whooping it up. Stop in a have a few - you won't be disappointed. read more

When ever we go on vacation we look for a bar like this where we can spend the evening relaxing and people watching and Mozzi's is one of the best so far. The drinks are well poured and reasonably priced, one thing I should point out it is cash only which I really liked no waiting for a tab just pay as you go and they have an ATM. Both the bartenders we encountered were really friendly and attentive. It is a place for both visitors and locals and you really feel welcomed here. They have two nice pool tables and a Touch Tunes jukebox so you're not going to be bored plenty of seating and a patio out back if the weathers good. read more

Made it back to Cambria and had to hit this spot and see if they still had good bartenders and drinks. I wasn't disappointed at all. Last time it was Shawn but there is a new King of the drinks. Max was super cool. They had a Mystery shot that was only $3 and it was a nice size shot. I'm from LA so we picky lol. But I was pleased with the drinks and vibes. Mozzi's Saloon is a bar for locals, but everyone was very welcoming to three girls from out of town! We are so glad we stopped in here. Our bartender was great and poured very strong, tasty drinks (which were a steal at $8). The atmosphere is really fun and casual, and there is a digital jukebox with tons of selections. I so wanted to hang there but to me its the principle.... Walked in to end of bar was Busy night fri 4/12 Good lookin blonde was super busy so i stood there quietly and patiently observing where i looked like id be in line waiting wise as who was waiting before me....looked like only a couple....Again she was really busy was bringing water and cash and change to the register so no problem.... The thing that sucked was as she was hustling back and forth i noticed she wasn't looking at all to see who to get to in some what of fair order when shes ready and i realize its impossible to see it all when that busy... so while shes going back and she walked by me we had eye contact and said hi to each other so i felt even though shes not making eye contact with anyone she knew i was there.... a few minutes after she got back to serving, I believe ishe started serving people whom i was there before, but no body's perfect and maybe they were waiting before me, but still i was confident as she seemed like she was very well experienced then this drunk guy comes up near me and has this look of i want another beer right away the kind of guy who doesnt care that u were standing there waiting first...finally she's walking our way and felt pretty confident she would come to me, but no!!!straight to mister "me me me" who practically jumping and raising his hand in the air.... as much as I wanted to stay i just walked out as at that moment i knew she was one of those inconsiderate could care less bartenders who serverve whoever she likes or makes the most noise or who's lucky to be right in front of her gets the service..... so lame... i know the deal and truly good bartenders even when busy try to keep at least a little eye out to see whos been waiting..... sucks as i know she could care less and this will make no difference and i rarely do yelp reviews but just had to say something and get it off my chest... read more

Fun dive bar .... We went to in the afternoon first and then had some good whiskey and a beer we decided to go to dinner and then come after dinner because there was a band playing stayed for a couple sets and had a beer.... It's very local and it's about expectations it's not really a place for families but it's fine for young adults and seniors who have their mind right about what kind of place are getting into. read more

A very chill, relaxed dive bar located in one of the coziest towns on the California coast. Mozzi's is a place you can retreat to after hours after seeing the area's sights. It's the only bar outside Morro Bay and Pismo open late. The main bartender during the weekend, I was there, was Ahren. I was shocked to learn Ahren was from the area I grew up near. He was very hospitable and professional to my friends and I. He poured strong drinks and made sure his patrons were taken care of. I was saddened to hear he was moving soon back to Las Vegas, as he is a nomad bartender. I wish Ahren the best of luck, and he has the skill to please any tipsy gambler in Sin City. The overall vibe of Mozzi's is cool place for locals to unwind after serving the droves of tourists passing through. However, they still welcome out of towners and make the bar a chill place to hang out. I will be back. read more

When we travel, we always end up in one of the local dive-bars , Mozzi's did not disappoint!! Nice little hole-in-the-wall type bar, tucked in off the main street there in Cambria. nice to come in and have a cold beer and chat with the locals or other sojourners; customers are polite and well behaved. Plenty of drink selection, and they even pour some really good quality wines, not your typical dive-bar wines, but certainly due to their proximity to all the great local wineries. I'm scratching my head at how this place gets called a "dive bar." It's freaking clean and really nice. Living most of my adult life in the shitty south and experiencing a 3-5 month stint (can't remember exactly how long, it was a blur...) in New Orleans - yah, this place is definitely NOT a dive bar. BEWARE though fellow tourists! The awesome Chicago dog and pickled eggs featured on their website are only sold on special occasions. Kinda a bummer because we probably would have stayed here all night long and drank while scarfing pickled eggs but it was not meant to be. Boo. Stopped by Mozzi's (name changed) on our trip to Cambria. Talk about a place to people watch. It appeared to be the locals hang out during the day, people playing pool and having a few drinks. Later that evening the band showed up and the place was jumpin with a mix of locals and vacationers. The dancing was wild, so much so I could only watch as a go go dancer went wild, clearing the floor. She was amazing. Something from a page out of 1960 if only a cage was available. Then there was what I dubbed "monkey man" who danced without moving his arms. They just hung by his side. I love it when people dance like no one is watching. It was a good evening. read more

Where the hell do you get a drink on the Central Coast? Well, Mozzi's, of course! I was at a corporate event at Hearst Castle on a Monday. It ended somewhat early...and so did most of Cambria! I was still a bit hungry and eager to see what else there was in the area. I only get up here every five years or so! Enter Mozzi's. Great, friendly vibe, nice bartender, free popcorn, fairly clean. They even have pot pies from Linn's across the street! Missed out on that, but I had some good pickled eggs and pretzels. Good TVs to catch football highlights. Cambria drinking on our way to the Hearst castle led us into Cambria and Mozzi's done caught our attention. The bartender that afternoon was none other than the lovely Tiana. Tiana was nice enough to give us the low down on the city and some places we had to stop at before we left. I'm not going to lie but that was the best damn beer I had it was something local. Possibly a firestone double barrel ale it was so cold and frosty. I had to have two in the small amount of time allotted before the tour. While in there a couple of locals came in and offered us shots! We had to be somewhat sober so politely declined. Second time we enjoyed beers and played pool. Yes we went two times in the small amount of time we stayed up there but it was so worth it. if you want to get a beer, play some pool and enjoy yourself I recommend you come here! This place is a great "local" watering hole. Drinks were made great by Mitch and the place seems like a place I would frequent often if I lived in Cambria. Only shaved off a star because it obvious the locals were favored over the visitors and it cost my husband $7 for a whiskey and coke as to where my Manhattan served up was only $5??? Great bar! We were driving to San Francisco and stopped by Cambria on our way. My friends and I were quite impressed with the lovely town, but Mitchell, with his warm welcoming, made us remember Cambria and Mozzi's Saloon at it's best. He nicely suggested to treat us with with drinks at his bar (and we nicely accepted). We loved the atmosphere inside. There is also a patio on the back where one can chill with a drink and chat with the sweetest inhabitants from Cambria. I didn't order it but I witness the worst pour of Guinness in the history of Guinness at this location. Poor form. No head. It was cringeworthy. With that being said, I'm happy I found this place. Most places in Cambria close early so it hit the spot when I wanted a drink walking distance to the motel. The Hoppy Poppy was cold and very tasty. I was happy. A funny little place that smelled entirely too much of cigarettes for my taste. Unfortunately, that one complaint probably dropped this review from 4 stars down to 2, as the rest of the establishment was pretty cool. The wall-art is basically cowboy-porn. I didn't snap a photo, though in retrospect, I should have. The drinks are plentiful, which is surprising for a country western themed bar. There was live music, which was neat, and a billiards table near the front entrance. It's a small town, so there's always room to move about. Fix the smell of smoke (that got into all my nice clothes), and you'll get yourself a big bump in stars. read more
