It was perfect...big, open space with plenty of seating at high top tables, bar area, regular tables, and an outdoors area with a fire pit and TVs surrounding the bar and patio. They also had baseball and surfing on some TVs. There's a pool table too. Creative cocktails. Nice, older crowd. After the game, the bar has karaoke. And ALL of the singers were excellent!! (I was just a happy listener!). Met some nice people. They have bands from all over other nights. Turned into an unexpected and fun evening. Oh, they also serve food, but I had just eaten. They even have a pup menu item (cooked hotdog) which my dog loves. Leta talk about the food... Chicago dog: delicious, and the best dog on the menu (see pic!). Bahn Mi dog: if you like a Bahn Mi, then you'll like this hot dog. It has the pickled radish, mayo, jalapeño and carrots just like the sandwich. Elote cup: get it dirty (hot Cheetos) Pretzel/pretzel bites: classic brewery snack with warm cheese and/or stone ground mustard. The staff is super great. Friendly, knowledgeable about what's on tap, and makes a point to know the regulars. They have little signs with "rules" for making sure everyone has an enjoyable experience - which I appreciate. The participants were having a great time, but we couldn't have a conversation without shouting 6 inches away from each other). That aside, the shepherds pie was incredibly delicious. Prepared to perfection. And the bread was amazing too. It's a generous portion- my wife and I split it and still couldn't finish it! Our son had a cheeseburger and fries and cleaned his plate. Our friend had the pastrami sandwich and loved it as well. We will definitely come back for more. (Plus I want to try some of those half Guinness over another beer drinks.

We were there on a sad day, I found out my 55 year old sister had unexpectedly passed away earlier that morning & our server was so nice. He made us all a shot in Beth's honor & took a picture of us saying "see you later" to my sister. The food is delicious too. Exactly the stop we needed to make on that particular day. There's also a patio with tables out front which is perfect if you have dogs. The service was super great and friendly, and also everyone we met was really friendly. It's definitely a locals hangout, everyone there was a local. While we were there we ended up talking to several people and they were all really nice. My friend and I were both clearly out of towners and both the bartender and the local people were super cool, so we definitely had a difference experience from the last two reviewers. I will say though, they do close on the somewhat earlier side, I think they closed around 12-12:30 on a Thursday when we were there so don't expect to be staying there till 2am. If you're stopping through town, honestly I think this place is a hidden gem that's worth putting on your list of places to visit.

As soon as we walked in the vibe was weird- it reminded me of the movie Get Out. There were zero women in the place- just the male bartender and 3 male patrons. No music playing, no conversation. Just silent. We were 3 women walking into this creepy male dominated bar but didn't care because we were just there to have fun. In hindsight we should have walked right back out. My girlfriend and her cousin had to use the restroom so I sat down at the bar to wait for them and order us drinks. Right away the bartender approached me and in a very unwelcoming tone told me "just so you know I've already called last call". I checked the time, it was 12:30. We had had a late dinner the next town over and had just gotten back and were looking forward to a nightcap in this town we love to visit so much. Now, we all know that bars close at 2, (it even says that on their hours when you Google it) so I was confused. I looked at the clock, looked back at the bartender, and said "it's not even 1 yet. Are you not open until 2?" To which he VERY rudely and condescendingly replied, "what, did you see that online somewhere one time?" and was visibly annoyed that I dare even ask a harmless question. At this point I had felt completely unwelcome and was basically in fight or flight mode because I could tell he just wanted a problem. Ok, you got it. I asked him what his problem was and he stammered over his words like he was surprised I could even hold my own. His goofy ass buddy playing pool stepped in as his backup at this point reiterating that last call had in fact already been called. I said "ok, that's fine, but he didn't need to be so rude about it". To which the dork playing pool replied "he wasn't being rude at all actually", like ok, are you hoping to go home with him or something? I said "you must have not heard the way he was speaking to me then" at which point this man towering over me started raising his voice and YELLING at me "I'm standing right here I heard the whole thing!" at this point I was honestly ready for whatever was coming next but by then my girlfriend and her cousin were coming out of the bathroom completely unaware of what was happening so I just called them all assholes and told my girlfriend "we're leaving, these guys are f***ing weird" and we left. The 5'4" male bartender followed us out and stood on the sidewalk as we walked to our car, I guess he was trying to look tough but our group of 3 women were all taller than him. I said loudly that he clearly has little man syndrome as we left and that was it. I have no idea what his problem was. We are very friendly and respectful people and were there to have a drink or two and a few laughs before going back to our hotel for the night and instead I was met with *attempted* intimidation by *mostly* fully grown men. I guess they wanted the place all to themselves for their little circle jerk sausage party. Won't be back. Ever. I've been a server and bartender for over 15 years and could never imagine treating anyone this way. It was truly disgusting for absolutely NO reason at all, and based on all the other reviews complaining about what is clearly the same guy, it astonishes me that this is the type of person they want representing their business. Horrible service and environment. Legends owner, I'm talking to you. Shameful.

My kids shared grilled cheese with lots of fruit. Hubby loved his sliders. My soup was mainly broth, not chunky at all and bread was rather hard, but overall still happy. The Merrimaker is, once again, a welcoming watering hole to all walks (including well-behaved pups). The Biergarten in back is beautiful. The interior's character has been restored. The beer is cold and yummy. The hoses are clean! All the good of the OG "Marriagebreaker" is back, with nicer bathrooms and an amazing live music calendar (but plenty of regular hang-time, too). We were lucky enough to see otters (including an entire raft of them!), sea lions, and seals, along with all the beautiful boats and scenery around Morro Bay. Our tour guide shared so much interesting history about the Morro Bay area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The bartender was incredibly friendly, the music was spot-on, and the entire boat ride was so peaceful and relaxing. They even provided cozy blankets to keep us warm and comfortable as the evening cooled down. It was such a fun and memorable way to celebrate his birthday! We highly recommend the Tiki Cruz Sunset Cruise 100%! If you're looking for a relaxing, fun, adults-only experience on the water, definitely give them a try!

We were blessed and were seated right away. The maitre d is so pleasant and helpful and had a great system to keep everyone organized and notified of open seats at the bar. This restaurant is on Morro Bay with a view of Morro Rock from every window that I saw, and some seating is outdoors with heaters. During the meal, people saw otters right off the dock, sea lions on the raft in the Bay and our night ended with a gorgeous sunset on the dock! The food could not have been better. The clam chowder was full of large pieces of clams and was creamy and delicious... We shared a cup... Went really well with the homemade rolls and seasoned butter! The meal was hot, beautiful and delicious! I'm picky about my scallops and I've never had better ones!! They were tender and seasoned perfectly... Sat on a bed of wild rice pilaf with grilled fresh veggies...more than I could eat... But I wanted every bite. My husband had Fish and chips and said the fish was tender and crispy... Not greasy at all. He had all he could do to finish his meal... Portions were generous. The wait staff was friendly, worked as a team and seemed happy to serve there. The Morro Bay car show is going on for three days lots of cruisers passing our patio table. We decided on their bowl ofseafood chowder it was velvety thick excellent generous portions of scallops, clams, shrimp complemented with small bites of potato's with all the perfect spices it was a 10. We added two filet mignon steak fajitas but taco style. They were delicious the seasoned filet mignon along with the sweet onions and peppers with a queso fresco on a warm corn tortillas were outstanding We topped our terrific late lunch off with a moist flavorful piece of carrot cake and carmel sauce that we shared. James our waiter was super friendly. STAX along with their perfected menu has large impressive selection of local and notable wines and champagne.
