I signed with Moxie Pest Control in Summer of 2025 with a door to door representative for two treatments that would treat the jigger/mite problem in our yard. I signed up for the two treatments on an IPAD he was carrying. The two treatments were $189 each, then a month later someone shows up with what looked like a Swiffer duster to clear any spider webs, which took about 15 minutes and I was charged another $189. I then canceled any further treatments, and was charged a $299 cancellation fee. Asked for a copy of the contract and they sent a five page PDF file which had my name patched in three places. I think this company is fraudulently pasting your signature into these contracts electronically as I would have never signed such a contract. I paid Moxie Pest Control $875 (5 payments). They promised all kind of BS for pest control. The technicians came in my house twice and looked around for 5 minutes each. This is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my entire life. I've actually never written a negative review before, but this company is unbelievable! The gentleman who sold us on the product initially told us there was no cancellation charge if we decided to cancel early. After receiving the contract via email, there was definitely a clause that said there is an early cancellation fee. We called to cancel our service and spoke with corporate to get the charge removed off the account. This was in July 2025. Since cancellation, I have had three different service members out to the house every other month to spray and have had constant texts/emails/calls into Moxie to get the charge removed as they continued to try to charge us for the cancellation. See attached screenshots below- they will NOT leave you alone!!!! I even have three different emails telling me the charge was removed and there is a zero dollar account balance yet I get a text every few weeks telling me there is an outstanding balance and/or a service person out to my house. read more

I must warn others about Moxie Pets. Their service is fundamentally broken, plagued with constant bugs that make it unreliable. Most concerningly, they charged my card without authorization and their customer service was unhelpful when I complained. When I tried to cancel, I was told customer satisfaction isn't guaranteed, and I discovered I would be charged a cancellation fee for a service that doesn't work properly. Essentially, I'm being held hostage by fees to continue paying for a defective product. This company prioritizes enforcing contracts over providing functional service. Aggressive sales tactic, confusing contracts, hidden and unreasonable fees, DIFFICULTY CANCELING. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

I signed with Moxie Pest Control in May 2025 under the promise of preventative services that would reduce pest activity by disrupting insect cycles. Four months later, after two treatments and plenty of time for results, there has been no improvement: mosquitoes continue to bite my child daily, and silverfish and spiders remain indoors, around the house, and everywhere else. I filed a mailed formal complaint in mid-August as required by their own contract. After nearly two weeks, Moxie's only response was to offer more of the same treatment that had already failed. When I exercised my contractual right to terminate, they ignored it and insisted they were owed additional fees despite the material failure of pest control to date. I gave the benefit of the doubt to a door-to-door service; learn from my mistake. Moxie relies on long-term contracts and refuses to recognize when their services don't work. I do not recommend signing with them unless you are prepared to pay for non-effective treatments and promises for additional non-effective treatments. Edit: There was no misunderstanding on my part. I called to cancel my service the week before I went out of town, and they came anyways to my house that weekend to treat. I specifically called in advance to cancel/cease service and they did it anyway. Online when you search how to terminate, it says to call the office. So, I called the office and a live person said it was taken care of. So then they text me while I'm on the road over the weekend, and had the temerity to say they have a "process" for cancellation. Guy shows up on a Segway - gives us a one of we will make your bugs go away - my husband says ok a few treatments we will try it- they showed up three times we called to cancel- they then tell you that you need to at least complete 5 treatments- we never were told that - my husband was so upset he had to tell them he would call back - I then called and told RYAN out of customer service we wanted to cancel - he then gets a angry acting - i told him we were not paying and he then tells me that he don't take kindly to this and slams the phone down - we then contacted lots of neighbors that had signed up also and found out they were treated the same way - this company is out for the $$$$ there's even a Facebook page against moxie pest !! Their employees are disrespectful and frankly a little creepy. Tonight I had someone knock on my door. It was weird since I have a video doorbell but he wouldn't ring it. He was from this company, saying he was just finishing work at a neighbor's house and was wanting to sell me pest control services while in the area. The sales pitch was him rambling on and on about insects in an incoherent fashion. He was ignoring a no soliciting sign and a no trespassing sign to do this, and knocking on my door after sunset. . .and quite frankly he looked shabby and unkempt and like some random stoner dude that had thrown a work shirt from this company on. However, in the Facebook group for the neighborhood I live in, there was a ton of posts tonight of people complaining about this guy doing the same thing to them. . .ignoring no soliciting/no trespassing signs, knocking on doors after dark, looking unkempt and rambling incoherently about being there to sell pest control services. The technicians apparently have no record of what our specific home requirements are. Each visit a different technician shows up. No idea what time of day....and sometimes they just don't show up. This company is a scam. They lie about treatments offered in an extremely fast presentation, they get you to sign a contract that is missing things they said verbally. They also refuse to cancel contracts easily. I was denied cancellation over the phone and then via writtem emails and texts. Then, they show up to do another treatment (more money) even though the contract had been cancelled. Beware, they are a scam company with highly trained liars as sales reps. They want charge me almost $700 additional dollares to cance after I paid over $200 for 1 treatment that took them 10 minutes to complete. When I signed up for service with Moxie I made it clear to David, who came to my door unsolicited, that I would not maintain service for bugs, especially mosquitoes, during the winter. I was told I could suspend service upon request. There was NEVER mention of a cancellation penalty! NEVER! Additionally, we had to request multiple additional visits to try to achieve the impact against mosquitoes, which was the primary reason I was willing to try Moxie's service. We fought mosquitoes all summer, having to ourchase multiple fogger and spray products at additional expense in order to even attempt to be outside. Basically the promised effetiveness never occurred! So I will be disputing this with my credit card company and mounting a campaign via social media, electronic messaging, and by word of mouth to the community that Moxie is a disreputable company. And if I EVER see them in this neighborhood again I will call the police. Our entrances are clearly marked with signs saying NO SOLICITORS. The young man who just done the service on my property, Samual was the kindest, politest, caring and knowledgeable man I have dealt with so far with this company. He needs to be possibly a trainer to others and teach them his values. He also cared about my dogs. Example, he didn't leave the gates open and also informed me not to let them out for about 20 minutes. Non of the other guys who have came here has told me that and everyone of them left one gate or both open, leaving me to chase one of my dogs. And I live on a very busy state route. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! They send very polite young men who talk like they really want to please you and make sure you're happy. But it's all "lip service ". The same hover board man sold me, I asked about the contract with a response that you could terminate at any time, without my reading glasses, I signed a copy on his ipad, without reading each word. Found out later that it was a one year contract and corporate said that I could not cancel for a year without a penalty. After the latest treatment which happened to be on a very cold day, I saw him walking around my backyard, spraying some material from what looked like a handheld grass seeder. Got into it again while calling corporate. A minute later, I sent an email to the company alerting them that "let this electronic written notice serve as the 30 day notice of cancellation. Sent it with a read request notice. Guess what, did not get a read request in turn. So now, I feel compelled to send them a written notice under a USPS Certificate of Mailing. P.S. Like many others, I was taken in by the young man on the hover board. He sold me termite protection and said I could pay it interest free over 6 monthly payments. Got a credit card charge for the full amount which I called and had them remove. Paid monthly for a few months but kept getting hassled to pay it in full. Do not do it! I called to cancel my monthly billing for quarterly services and was told they could change me to an as needed service at a discount rate where I would schedule as needed. Not true. They just show up to your house and do the service then charge you full price. Just had a professional window cleaning complete and they coated it with their spray. "Supervisor" was no help. Said they attempted to schedule with me 3 times and when they can't reach you they come out anyway and do it. I explained that I have a sick daughter whose medical cost are $2400 a month and I work 17 hour days at two jobs and cannot answer. she did not care at all. Had zero sympathy. read more

Both times he continued with the sales pitch. Saying no only ramps up the pressure and the severity of my problems and infestation. I never do reviews on companies but this place is a business others should be aware of. 1. They come around every spring and do not take no for an answer. they were relentless, then when we signed up, they told us that there was no cancellation fee. 2. The only ever came by when we were not available. regardless of how many times we told them this, their answer was that's okay we will get the outside and you can schedule an inhouse service at anytime. But this never happened, so I have no idea if they actually even serviced our home. 3. When we tried to cancel because of #2, I was gaslighted and continued to be pressured into thinking I was the one in the wrong. Finally we got them to cancel the service only to be charged a fee for cancellation. When I asked about this fee, I was told it was not a cancellation fee but the "discount" we were given that they ask for back if we cancel early. We had one billing left at $136 the cancellation fee was $200. So, I agreed to not "cancel" but to pay for the last bill and not return their "discount" I have asked several times for a corrected bill for the $136 and have yet to receive it. I can not say enough how important that you do not do business with this company, they bully you into signing up, lie about cancellation and refuse to back off. read more
