These guys were horrendous! They spent a couple of hours just walking back and for in the living room.When they did finally move thins, they decided that my Sauder furniture all needed to be taken apart and the pegs lost. For all of this they charged me $805.00 to ,move our thing 5 miles. The mileage was charged to get them here from Winchester. I thought they were located in Leesburg since that is what their ad says. The overall experience was awful and then their office had the nerve to call several times looking for payment which had already been paid before they left . When I tried to talk to the office person about the problems, she hung up on me. the whole company needs lessons i service. read more

The guys who pack are professional, hardworking and all around great individuals. Their people in the management level however is AWFUL. I was given multiple dates for when the movers were going to transport my stuff and have it over here. I was told if I wanted my stuff there sooner it would cost more money (even if it's their mistake). I was never notified when the movers were on the road with my belongings until last minute. HORRIBLE, DON'T USE!! We used these guys for a move from Charles Town WV to NH. They were recommended by our realtor. The quote was either artificially low or they are truly horrendous at giving an accurate quote. After loading the truck at the house, they were supposed to pick things up from a storage unit. The truck was almost full after the house items, and Josh wanted FOUR THOUSAND, YES, $4000 MORE to transport the remaining items in storage. THIS WAS A 30% ERROR ON THE ESTIMATE WHICH WAS TOTALLY OUTRAGEOUS. Rude, not willing to admit that they screwed up the estimate or lowballed. Not willing to try to work with us or try to find a solution. Take it or leave it. We left the items in WV and now have to figure out how to get our belongings up to NH. We budgeted for this move and this has added a huge amount of stress and economic hardship. We are paying for storage still and must pay additional moving expenses. We also used some packing services, first for a partial move to storage, then for the remaining items for the move up to NH. Josh told us we would save money by packing more ourselves, which we busted ourselves and packed 50% of items not in storage. He even came to the house a second time and told us we could shave off a grand or two if we kept up the pace, which we did. WE SAVED NOTHING and went $200 over the packing estimate. When I complained he told me, "Well I guess you didn't pack enough then!" This company is totally mismanaged. The three times we owed money, I called Josh and reminded him. All three times no one was aware that we had not paid yet. They are disorganized and lucky that we are honest people. As a result of this, Mover Dudes has lost my realtor's company's (large elite chain) business. The broker even contacted him and he did not seem to care one bit. One last thing...many times they have a truck, slap a Mover Dudes magnet on the side and hire outside day workers. We had a good team pack in WV, but a totally different driver who hired people off the street the morning of the unloading in NH. DO NOT USE, DO NOT USE, DO NOT USE!! read more

Terrible experience! Had a crew of 4. The team leader was pissed off and worn out because of his long work hours he said. Do you really want someone who's mad to handle your items? One guy dropped my Waterford crystal because he was trying to carry too much. Then, one dude said we had bed bugs. He was a "bed bug expert". They wouldn't move our beds. The team leader told us we could have our beds sprayed and then they could be moved in 24 hours. We had the pest guy come over the next day. We had carpet beetles, NOT bed bugs!! And if you do have bed bugs, you can't just spray them away in 24 hours - the team leader was such a liar! So then we had to pay them another $300 to come back to move the beds. I called Josh about all these issues, but he would not refund that $300. I would NEVER use this group again, nor would I recommend you do. read more

This was the worst packing experience ever. The lead packer, Brandon, showed up with his two year old daughter and two other female packers, one who never packed before. I should have stopped the packing right then. But I didn't and he packed while his daughter wandered around on her own. About an hour or so into the packing, he left with his daughter saying he needed a box to pack the hazardous materials that couldn't be included in the shipping. He returned almost 2 hours later without his daughter and without the box. They did not finish the packing that day and the packing he did compared to the women who wrapped all the dishes, was awful as he tossed stuff together. The next day the movers showed up almost two hours late saying they misplaced the keys to the truck. Brandon also showed up to "finish" the packing. In the process he said he bought 10 additional boxes (at $5/box) to complete the packing. In the end, he left several items unpacked and 8 boxes he did not use plus rolls of saran wrap. The only good thing I can say about the move is that the 4 movers under the leadership of Lincoln, once they arrived, salvaged the move. They did a great job packing truck and delivering the boxes, etc., that day. I have been trying through Mike Sprague, the movers certified moving consultant, and others to try and claim a refund based on the fact that one packer, reportedly the lead packer, besides being lousy, was missing 2 of the 4 hours as well as getting a refund for the extra money I paid for the boxes they did not use. You have an option at the end to not pay until you are contacted by management. I should have done that as they have been unresponsive to my requests for the refund. If you could hire just Lincoln and his three assistance who packed the truck and moved our belongings, it would have been great. Unfortunately, you cannot separate the packing from the overall move so it would be difficult for me to recommend this company for a move without a serious improvement in the packing effort. read more

Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to select the delivery company for my sectional. It will be 2 days short of a month if my couch is delivered, from the time it was picked up at the manufacturer warehouse in Texas to delivery in the Indianapolis area. Notice I wrote 'if'. I have heard every story on where the couch is currently from a closed warehouse , to they are trying to find the paperwork, to "my manager us out on the floor trying to figure it out'. I have a copy of the 'chat' with a customer service rep saying it would be at the local terminal 2 weeks ago. This is not the first time we had a big ticket delivered to the home and they were the delivery company. On a local level, that was also a disaster. They have poor customer service and apparently lack an understanding of the basics of supply chain management. May I recommend hiring a graduate of IU Kelly School of business Supply Chain Management Program, maybe then the company can start to receive more than 2 stars. I would give them 0 stars if possible. Worst experience of my life. They were careless, damaged A LOT of furniture. VERY expensive, I later realized when helping a friend move and seeing quotes she got. I fought a lot to get furniture "repaired" by a guy coming in with a stain stick and dabbing around (he did wonders actually). I unequivocally recommend Mover Dudes. Every single person we worked with was a hard worker, respectful, considerate of our belongings, and cheerful even in the face of challenges. They moved us twice and we interacted with their front office staff and five movers. Truly great people: Mitch, Matt, Buck, Tyler, and Shaun. All had character and a rare work ethic. I've told my dad to use them, recommending them to my brothers as well when they move. I saw a one star review and believe it's not fair and I would disregard it. Mover dudes came out and did our estimate on site. They quoted us a fair price, not nearly as high as JK, not as low as "bargain bin" movers that have garbage reviews, just right but with very high quality. Best Moving Experience Ever!! I have moved multiple times in the last 4 years, and Mover Dudes has impressed me the best. My most important issue was cost. I was quoted a very fair and reasonable price which holds for 3 months. Most companies only honor the quote for 30 days. My estimator, Jordan gave me all kinds of advice on how to keep my cost down. I took his advice and was able to keep my cost within reason for my budget. There was some miscommunication with regard to how many boxes I would have, but I do not fault Jordan for that. When he came I guessed maybe I would have 100 boxes. I miscalculated and had many more than the 94 he factored in on the quote. It all worked out in the end and the increased cost was not more than I could handle. The crew that worked my move was absolutely amazing for such a young group of men. First and foremost, they arrived early, really early. That was great for me. They were all very polite, professional, courteous, respectful of me and my belongings. As I had more boxes than originally reported, somehow they managed to get all my stuff on the truck that was too small. The foreman was amazing. When it came time to unload at the storage unit, once again I was given advice on how to load the unit. If they would have placed all the boxes together and all furniture together, there was a possibility it would not all fit. As much as I wanted it this way for ease of access, I took their advice and let them unload so that it would all fit. I was glad I took their advice as they were able to get it all in the storage unit with a little space to spare. I highly recommend this company. I was referred to this moving company by a friend and honestly wish I didn't have to post a poor review. The movers showed up and began moving my items as scheduled. All was going well until one team member came to me to tell me they somehow broke the mirror on my china cabinet while putting it into the truck- ugh but okay they will get it fixed. Next they came and told me they broke the edge of my big screen tv- but they will pay to have it fixed or replaced. (Should have stopped all moving at this point -but I didn't). They arrive at my new home only to tell me that my hope chest "fell apart" because the glue was old. Ummmm I've had that for over 20 years and moved many times but okay.- don't worry they will pay to fix it. So ends the transaction. I paid them and they drove off. A week later I call the office to inquire about getting my items repaired or replaced- they tell me I should have gotten a form to fill out but no problem I'll email it to you. I received the email form- fill it out- return it- and crickets. It's been 4 months and nothing. I've called, emailed, messages- nothing. I do not recommend this company for moving your valuables. Pay the little bit extra and go with a company that will actually back their warranty and promises. read more

They were highly recommended. Unfortunately, our crew did not follow directions well. They also did not move many of the items that were promised by them (mine and my son's dumb bells, the grass catcher, my safe, and several small items and clothes were all left). Several items that were supposed to be left or thrown away were moved to our new home. A few things have gone missing as well (dog bowls, small shelves, etc.). After contacting their operations management, I thought we would get some resolution. However, they have blown me off and not called back. I was super impressed with these guys -- from getting the bid for the move, to confirming the appointment and showing up on time, through to actually moving the stuff in and out. My move was not easy -- heavy piece of gym equipment, tight staircase, multiple stops. And it only got harder as the weather made it impossible for the movers to back the truck up close to the house on the other end. Without ever a complaint, they carried the stuff down a long driveway. And they were fast, careful with my stuff, and just seemed like good guys. The entire experience was super from the very beginning. The phone consultation/estimate was very thorough and Adam was attentive to my follow ups. The crew (Robert and Andrew) called me one hour prior to their arrival. They were prompt, efficient and pleasant to speak with. We walked the house before they started and after they loaded the truck. Everything went smoothly and I couldn't have asked for better service. Arriving at the new house they discovered that a piece to my bed was left at the other house (about an hour away) Robert offered to drive back and get it; since we needed to go back anyway we told them don't worry about it. I recently hired mover dudes to handle my move from Winchester to Stephens city va. The first thing I liked was that they were much less expensive than the other two proposals I received. I felt very comfortable with my salesperson, Jordan and felt that he truly heard and understood everything we needed. We walked through the house and he noted every item we were taking and was able to give me pricing as soon as we were done. When the day came, they showed up exactly when they were supposed to and got right to work. I was very impressed by the professionalism of the gentlemen that came to pack everything up. There was a genuine concern for the safety and fragility of my furniture and I was blown away by the care they took to make sure every single item was wrapped and secured (even if it didn't need to be), they were very efficient and didn't waste anytime loading or unloading. I came to know about Mover dudes from Angies list. They have very good rating. Based on those reviews I called them. I must say, awesome experience with mover dudes! I moved from DC to CA. They gave estimated delivery between 6-10. It arrived on 10th. 1 book self and 1 shoe stand was broken. Driver paid me the amount right away when he delivered. Bed rails and a box was missing too. He shipped the box and bed rails in 2-3 weeks. I had very expensive silverware in the missing box. None of them were missing! Customer service is really good. Josh helped me with the entire process. Everything went smoothly. YOU CAN TRUST THESE PEOPLE. I would definitely recommend to hire these movers. read more

There's something really wrong with this company. If you get Dwayne, you get an excellent move. If you get Mike Washington your stuff is treated like trash and becomes trash in the process, even though he tells you he will teat your stuff "like it was his own." My experience with this company in 2016 was great. In 2018 it was terrible. The destruction of furniture alone was ten times worse than the cost of the move. Trim on mahogany furniture was scraped off, an entire side of rope edging was pulled off of a desk. Crow molding on bookcases that I told them to be careful with was destroyed. Screws and keys for bookcase doors were lost. Parts of lamps were found loose in the truck after delivery. Christmas boxes were just smashed. One of the movers stayed tuned into his playlists the entire move, often holding his phone in one hand while he banged into railings and walls. Until the company figures out how to solve their staffing problems, stay away from this company. read more

I would not recommend Mover Dudes for my project. I contracted with them and was told that they would be there between 8:00 - 10:00 am on Saturday. I received a call at 9:15 am telling me that someone had called out and asked if we could postpone the move until the following day. As this was not possible, I said it had to be done that day. They got a crew together and arrived at 10:30. In addition to being late, it took longer than quoted which resulted in an additional $118 charge to my quoted price. When everything was set up, we noticed that some of my furniture was missing, adding stress to an already problematic day. It was eventually found. I spoke with the office while all of this was going on and they told me that my sales agent Mike would call me on Monday to discuss. He never called so I called him. He apologized for the situation and told me he would speak to the company management and call me back. I have not heard from him since. On the positive side, the crew Brandon and Drip were pleasant, courteous and apologetic. As a result of my experience, I would not recommend Movers Dudes to be my provider of choice for a move. read more

Do not hire Mover Dudes. They were subcontractors for Colonial Van Lines, to move my stuff from Alexandria, VA to Redmond, WA. I did not choose Mover Dudes to be my mover. - I didn't even know they were the company moving me until the day before they came to pick up my stuff. Mover Dudes damaged every one of my expensive furniture - and that is considering they wrapped them in blankets. They lost the little brackets on my shelf so they did not assemble my shelf when it got to the final destination and the guy told me "You can just buy these brackets, they are not that expensive." It's not the cost of the brackets, it's the fact that when people move, they are already exhausted from the packing and all other things that they had to do to move and to be left with additional things to do when they arrive at the destination only adds to the stress. It really tells you these guys don't care about their customers. Do not think that the damage compensation will cover the cost of your furniture since they base the cost on the weight of the furniture, not the actual replacement value and they have a very long processing time of 90 days to get you compensated. The only reason I even gave them 2 stars is because the movers were respectful.Too bad for them, I had several friends ask me in advance to let them know how this company is since they will be moving in the next few months. They just lost a bunch of prospective clients. read more

Please don't waste your time. After waiting several days for my "24 hour turn around" estimate, I received a message from Victoria saying that "if I was still interested" I should give them a call. When I called her back, the person answered the phone (540-450-0770, their main number) with "hello" (but not any sort of greeting or identifiers) and then passed the phone to Victoria (who also answered "hello" but did not identify herself or the company, leading me to believe that perhaps I had called the wrong number). Upon explaining the nature of the call to her, Victoria informed me that I "had interrupted her lunch," and that she would have to call me back in an hour. I actually found myself apologizing for having called the number that was listed on their website and had been left on my voicemail, assuming (wrongly) that I had mistakenly dialed someone's personal cell phone. Not the case it seems. I am still waiting for that return phone call - it has been over a day. With so many movers in the area, why bother with someone who clearly does not need the business. read more
