Closed down apparently. Try patagonia chocolates which also has ice cream and other pastries.

Fun Tasty Cookies & fun-loving interior!…read more Food: Cookies 5/5 all round -Salted Carmel (warm and delicious) -Chocolate Chunk (tasty) -Mille Bottle: Milk & S'more combo (see picture) They warm up the cookies so they're nice and warm and tasty. The s'more was a great combination of favors and the milk made it taste even better! (New Zealand has delicious Milk, it won't disappoint!) Ambiance: -Fun and beautifully designed. They have their own mascot and a lot of fun designs. Service: -The staff is very friendly and helpful if you need any suggestions -Line the line can get long due to the high demand but if you have the time it's worth checking out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Man, I may be in the minority here, but I thought this spot was so overhyped…read more The decor of the store - or Cookie Bar I should say - caught our eyes our first day in Queenstown. It's got bright colors, cartoon-y Cookie mascot, and merch everywhere. Cookie Time is a NZ brand icon, which is awesome! I loooove that they have gluten free options, and we found those in gas stations and convenience stores throughout NZ. However, our actual visit to the Cookie Bar was lackluster at best. The line was crazy long, the wait for cookies was long, and there were a few things that broke the magic: like there being "milk taps" but they're just for show - the milk is prepackaged. And you can see the rough-looking cookie warmer behind the station of unenthusiastic workers. The cookies and milk were good, but didn't blow our minds - maybe that's because we're used to fresh warm cookies like Sweet Martha's in Minnesota. There's very little seating inside so you have to take it to go or jockey for a barstool while everyone waits inside for their order to be ready. The brand and packaged items are great, but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this to a friend heading to Queenstown.

The Wagyu beef was not very good in my opinion. It was average. I would eat there again, but it is not what we expected, people had raved about eating there.

Really enjoyed a few of the dishes…read more 1-lamb dish was one of the more enjoyable versions of lamb I've had. Ribeye was tender but most interesting were the stuff on the side - asparagus with lamb bacon, and lamb meat flakes and capers over feta cream. The flavors perfectly balanced the richness of the lamb. *chef's kiss* 2-honey cherry dessert was a perfect mix of milky creamy honey fruity. Felt like a dreamy dessert that came from foraging. 3-duck parfait over flaxseed beet chip was also delightful. Perfect mix of textures. The mousse tasted like foie gras. 4-I really enjoyed the tomato consommé we started with. It came out of a tea pot and did taste a bit like tea. Umami and complex and refreshing. 5-salmon was great - smoked eggplant purée on the side went well with it. I liked that it came with koji butter, and was served with sourdough and marmite butter. Marmite tastes similar to soy sauce so it went really well with the salmon dish. Other dishes were also good even if not quite as memorable as the above. Overall the food excelled at complex flavor profiles. I thought the food itself was equivalent to somewhere in between a Michelin one and two star. Service was a bit uneven though waiter was friendly. Ambiance was pretty casual.

The interior was rustic, spacious, with a warm and comforting ambiance. I wanted to try a little of everything, so ordered the Flame Mixed Grill ($67 NZ), which consisted of famous Ribs, grilled Sirloin Steak, Boerewors Sausage, rotisserie Peri Peri Chicken, along with roasted baby potatoes with sour cream. This took awhile to come out, but it was worth it! Ribs were sticky in a bold, smoky, tangy, savory BBQ sauce. The meat was delightfully tender. Steak was cooked perfectly, succulent, and well seasoned. Sausage was slightly charred and quite juicy, paired wonderfully with flavorful chimichurri. Chicken was not really my favorite, as I found it lacked flavor and was a bit dry. Potatoes were soft and pillowy that worked nicely with the creamy sour cream, but only 3 small ones. Service was solid. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was tasty and it was a lovely, hearty feast of a dinner!
