LOCATION: Right next to Ferg Burgers, be sure to stand in the right line. The line to Ferg Burgers is often very long & out the door, whereas the line for the bakery is often quite short. SERVICE: Efficient. You place your order and your items are handed to you quickly. FOOD: We tried a couple of the meat pies (steak & lamb) and were surprised by how delicious they were. The crust was flaky and the meat was warm and perfectly seasoned. We also loved the brownie, which was fudgy but not too sweet. There is no place to eat in the shop itself, so we took our food to a nearby area and enjoyed the pies there. It was a bit chilly so the pies were absolutely perfect. read more

Love the gelato here! This is a must stop while visiting queenstown. They have lots of yummy flavors and the location is great! It is located right in the middle of queenstown. The servers are friendly and let you taste as mAny flavors as you like. I ordered the lemon meringue and chocolate. Both tasted great. The lemon meringue tasted like a lemon pie and they gave me some of the meringue topping, it went well with the chocolate. The chocolate was rich and creamy. My hubby ordered the lemon, passion fruit, and strawberry sorbet. So refreshing for a nice summer day in New Zealand. Prices are pretty reasonable as well for the amount of gelato that you get. Setup: gelato time - like every. day. The better: great assortment of flavors, many which you can't find elsewhere. Marscapone fig walnut was my fave. The lesser: it is SO HOT inside! Great place when you want a cheap breakfast to go! They have a large selection of pastries, bagels, and meat pies. I would recommend the infamous Boston Creme Pie donut; which I basically inhaled. It has a great sugary coating and the filling is a just sweet enough vanilla bean cream with real specks of the bean! I would also recommend taking food to go and walking out to the lake. Excellent gelato!! The flavors are by far better and richer than Patagonia Chocolates. My favorite flavors are dark chocolate and coffee and tried them both at Patagonia and Mrs Ferg. At Patagonia, the flavor is not as deep and rich. Look, if you're a chocolate and coffee fanatic, you're not looking for something milky that just has a hint, especially if they claim it's dark chocolate. The gelato at Mrs Ferg was definitely some of the best I've had. The dark chocolate is so good and you really taste that cocoa. The double espresso with dark chocolate... oh my god, it's heavenly. Grab a double scoop because one is not enough and enjoy it by the lake! How can life get any better than that?? read more

This quickly became our favourite coffee spot, as our coffee was always strong and extra hot, plus it is only $4 - bonus! Their food cabinets were also consistently filled to the brim with many sweet and savoury foods. I particularly recommend their cheese rolls, an almond croissant or a huge slice of sweet pie!!! read more

Get the meat pies! They're so good, I got the lamb kumara one and it was great. They about $5 but super filling and a great breakfast. Only downside is not really any seating, but we got our food quickly and this place is worth coming to. read more

Just the most incredible and delicious gelatos EVER! They have a nice assortment of gelato flavors and sorbets for the more health conscious folks. Think I've been here almost every single day of the five we've been in Queenstown. So so yummy. A must try after a burger next door. Just don't get on the scale the next day. I love the salted caramel flavor the best, but truly there is something for everyone. I wish I had some pictures but every time I came in I scarfed my ice cream like a rabid lunatic. Whoops. Couldn't help but eye all the gelato/sorbet flavors at Mrs. Ferg while I waited in line for Fergburger. So obviously, this had to be the next stop. Despite the crowd, the servers behind the counter managed the orders and requests for tasters very well, all while being super sweet. The lychee, mango and Vietnamese mint flavor piqued my interest and I almost passed over it thinking it would be a flop. I'm glad I asked for a try because to my surprise, all the flavors made for a delicious blend! Then I got greedy and got a second scoop of passion fruit which was also very tasty. There was no one inside when I went! Which meant that I had two of the staffers all to myself, and they couldn't have been more helpful when helping me choose a gelato flavor. When in Australasia, passion fruit anything is the way to go. They helped me whittle down between two of their different passion fruit varieties - one was more Greek yoghurty, and the other was similar to a sorbet. Choose the Greek yoghurt one! And then bring your cone down to the water where you can enjoy the sunshine and envious stares. read more

We capped off a *yum* Fergburger dinner with completely unnecessary gelato. One scoop of chocolate brownie plus one scoop of gingerbread equals a sweet end to the meal. PS- I eat gelato infrequently, so I may be incorrect in this feeling- the texture or consistency seemed different from what I've sampled stateside. Not in a bad way- just different. Omg never had such a delicious and perfect savory pie before. Never really had savory pie before actually. I tried the veggie pie, the venison, and the lamb. My fave was the veggie--had a curry like taste. Nom nom. One of the few affordable options for a delicious meal in Queenstown. I'd be willing to pay double for those pies.
