Really good place to find something sweet that you would like! They have a lot of variety for sweet tooth people. They offer chocolates, ice cream, crepes, waffles, churros etc... We ordered the crepe and the waffles. Both come with ice cream of our choice which allowed us to taste their ice cream too. The crepe for me was much better than the waffle. Given the amount of chocolate and caramel sauce that came with it provided me with the sugar I needed. Also the portion of the crepe was much bigger than the waffles. If you had to choose between the two choose the crepe

Very nice coffee shop. Beautiful view, nice aroma from coffee roasting machine, and elegant setting. Enjoy cappuccino, although their desserts and ice cream are a bit too sweet for my taste.

Very tasty ice cream and sorbets. We had the dark chocolate gelato and the boysenberry/apple/strawberry sorbet. Good portion sizes and just what we needed on a warm day at the lake after a cycle.

The front two ice creams are from Patagonia and are so delish!

We dropped in on an early Monday evening (just before 6:00pm) to take advantage of happy hour. The place is beautiful with a few tables outside to people watch and enjoy the lake view. Otherwise, there's tons of seating inside with hipster light bulbs, a fireplace and old vintage equipment as decor. The dinner menu is split into share plates, mains, sides and kids. The pasta of the day was a seafood linguini ($25.00 NZD). We saw a few mains come out to neighbouring tables that looked appetizing. Same with the coffee, which most tables ordered. There's also a separate dessert menu. The Alchemy dessert platter ($18.00 NZD) sounded promising. Nice touch with the complimentary sparkling and tap water. Only lame thing here is that wifi stops working at 6:00pm. Er... - Crater Rim Waipara riesling ($7.00 NZD) - sweet but not overly so. It's regular $11.00 NZD for a glass. - Soljan Estate Reserve Hawkes Bay syrah ($7.00 NZD) - a little drier finish. Decent. We only came for drinks but the food looked pretty legit. Chill, relaxed vibe.

Quite literally a shack with a cutesy interior, the coffee know-how still present. It definitely adds character and a ton of warmth to the shop. Choose from Milky, Black, or filtered coffee. The latter is a bit of an anomaly in espresso-loving NZ, so I am sure it's there to cater to the foreigners. I kept to my flat white pursuits by ordering one here prior to a early morning stroll along the lakeside. It was prepped and delivered to me quite quickly, but probably too soon as it could have used a little extra steam to warm it more thoroughly. I think a little on the higher end in terms of pricing for all their coffee beverages. Bright, colorful take away cups kept it fun. A solid spot open early for your morning cuppa.

This tiny, rustic shack is full of surprises and incredible coffee. I ordered a latte with breve and a touch of honey, and it was so good I immediately went back for a second. Balanced, smooth, and just the right amount of sweet. These folks know what they're doing. The staff were kind, upbeat, and handling a steady line of customers with ease. (Pro tip: the line moves fast, and trust me, it's worth every second.) Coffee is served at a cozy 60°C, and they use Flight Coffee, which means you're sipping some seriously high-quality beans. Big shoutout to their B2 milk blend and Montecristo single origin--smooth, chocolatey, and bursting with character. There's outdoor seating if you want to linger, and if you wander just a few steps around the corner, you're rewarded with a stunning lake view. Dogs are clearly part of the Shack family too--there's a whole wall of Polaroids featuring their furry regulars. Friendly vibe. Killer coffee. Iconic location. This place is small but mighty and one of our favorite finds in Wanaka. Stay caffeinated my friends, MLA
