Orangetheory Fitness - 450 classes milestone for me! Jan 2026

Me and wifey have mostly attended Coach Dharam classes since the schedule works really well for us…read moreand we both are now almost 200 classes in!! The staff have always been very nice and welcoming. We recently needed to pause my unlimited membership for a while, and the process was a breeze. I haven't attended any other OTF studios, so I can't really make comparisons, but Coach Dharam has been great. He is a fantastic motivator, regularly checks in, and gives helpful suggestions when needed. You can tell he genuinely pays attention to the members. Overall, I have had a really positive experience and look forward to continuing my OTF journey!!

Summer 2026 Update!…read more Elite Member approaching my 500th (!) class soon. Hard to believe even with the pandemic shutdown, I've returned and stuck with this workout since my first classes in 2015 when Natomas first opened. Thanks to my former coworker for recommending Orangetheory to me after trying out her Elk Grove home studio, and I lucked out with past Natomas coaches Coach Lysandra, Coach Avery and Coach "Training Tall" Austin. Since my last review, Dharam is no longer the head coach, coach Milana is now at Carmichael studio, and now the head coach at Natomas is coach Conner. I regularly attend evening classes with Coach Dharam, Coach Rachelle, and Coach Thuy. Occasionally I'll take a class with Coach Josh or subs like Coach Amilia. The 3G classes are either HYROX-focused on Tuesday nights now, or downgraded to 2G sizes/format for Thursdays. Tread50s are also a later option for me, though the Strength50 classes tend to fill up. Instead of All Out Mayhem, this year they had Season of Strength. Next up for August is Marathon Month challenge, then the Fall Dri-Tri. Class check-ins are now on a tablet, treads and rowers both have the upgraded tablets, Y-bells replaced the medicine balls. There's even a brag bell for when you hit a PR!

9Round has been a life changing experience for me! I've always been a fitness enthusiast with fair…read moreamount of experience with weight lifting, Tabata training & basketball. I've been an avid gym go-er at 24 Hour Fitness for about 8 years & never saw consistent results. I'd be in the gym for a hour with no game plan in mind, and mindlessly workout a muscle group whenever the machines or weight benches were available. With most of the treadmills & spaces being were used, it was hard to do any type of cardio, as well. I joined during June 2019, (2 months to writing this review) & lost 20 lbs (& counting...) while maintaining lean muscle. I'm getting married next April & I'm looking to be the best version of myself! With 9Round, I learn something new every single day & my fitness plateaus have been constantly shattered. Literally all the trainers are motivating and they teach you how to improve on every aspect of kickboxing. From your footwork, learning how to punch/kick effectively to working on the pad work; this workout is guaranteed to make you sweat. Shout-out to Tohua, Nick, Joaquin, Hazel, Alex & Justin for being dope trainers. Also, to Keba for being an awesome 9Round owner. They all recognize you by your name, every time. If you are wondering how 9 Round works; it's a 3 minute workout of minimum of 9 round circuit, with a 30 second active rest in the between. Each round is a different exercise. By round 3 through 6 is when the real fun starts & you put on your gloves. In between those rounds, trainers will pull you out and take you out for pad work. These are the rounds that will make you or break you because they are the most calorie burning zones. Also, in addition; each week there's a weekly challenge amongst members called the "CHOW" which is the "challenge of the week." This is a great opportunity to challenge other members. FYI: For newcomers, you're first workout is free & you're given loaner gloves to protect your hands. If you do decide to join, the community here is great! Upon sign-up, you are given your own 9Round gloves, a pair of hand wraps, heart rate monitor & a drawstring bag. You will not regret this decision.

My Ate Rachelle invited me to try out Step 1 Dance & Fitness' Wednesday 7pm beginner adult hip-hop…read moreclass with coach Joe H. Personally, I'm more of a Zumba gal so this style of dance was really out of my comfort zone and I didn't know what to expect. First time in, and the drop-in price for the class was $15. While waiting for the previous [full] class to finish in that room (Zumba), restrooms were all the way down the hall and they also have an Elkay water bottle filler. There were at least two or three more rooms in use for youth/teen classes, and folding chairs along the hallway for parents/spectators too. There were less than ten people total in the class by my estimate, and it is once a week recurring. It sounded like the past two weeks they were working on choreography moves, but this evening Joe wanted to focus on a basic skill tutorial/demo -- the Wave! The arm wave is one of the coolest foundational illusions in popping, where you make your arm look like a ripple of water. After a warmup meditative movement set, he really broke it down step by step, practicing each position, first a cappella then with music, slow first then sped up, then added variations/flair. Isolating each joint is the key: fingers/hands up, then pop wrist, elbow up, pop shoulder up, chest, then once at opposite shoulder, reverse the path down the other arm! He also showed us a trace wave transition into a body wave, popping the left knee, then right knee, hip, chest, head, then trace back to the arm/hand. You could even do the arm wave at shoulder level, down at your waist, with both arms parallel, or point at each pop of the body wave. He also showed us the difference between waving out versus waving in. One water break pause during the hour, but otherwise it was fun to learn and follow along. The class after us was Beg/Int Contemporary Fusion 8pm, then Heels at 8:30pm. For adults they also have Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Line Dance, Fierce Funk, Soca Dance Fitness, Stretch Fusion and Sculpt & Define. https://step1danceandfitness.com/pdfs/Adult-schedule.pdf

I wanted to wait to post however I can update in the future…read more Staff is great here! I was a little let down when I asked about machines for glutes etc. Instead of walking me over to show me I was pointed in the direction and vaguely told about it. This was my fourth time in. However when I was signing up Kelsey was a 5-5 very knowledgeable and showed she loved working out and explained some machines that she really liked . The tan area is great very clean and nice 5-5 Red light- whole body 5-5 For tanning keep in mind that you may need to ask them to wait five minutes to turn it on. I did not have all my tanning lotion on by the time it started. I suggest starting out with lower minutes to see how you like it and make sure you're not claustrophobic On the whole body for me, I call it red light. I went shorter minutes, but it still felt a little bit long so I would suggest starting out at 4 to 5 minutes. So far I've been on the lounge massage chair and that was really really nice. I like that you can change the pressure higher and lower. I really like their app. I think it's amazing whoever came up with that idea. Did a great job. I really like that you can take different guest. It's really nice because if you don't have a family member or somebody that has the same exact schedule as you, you don't have to worry about working out by yourself. You can always change the person that you're going with if you have the black card Although I've had a hard time getting anybody to go with me because my schedule is so crazy it's very clean and welcoming inside The type of work I do makes you very scared to get any kind of germs. I do think they could have an extra cleaning station outside of the rooms to get for the machines, and I would like more areas for putting sanitizer on my hand. All in all, I love it so far I will check back in in a couple months and let you know how it's going

The staffs are very nice but Whenever I come here late at night there's never anybody in the front.read more
