I had went to Movefree Academy for over 4 years first as a student and then later as a coach. I will only be discussing my experience as a student going into Movefree Academy as I made it clear when I was an active and inactive coach to all students and coaches working. My time at Movefree began with coach Rami who initially spiked my excitement about parkour and it's many uses. He was my first true parkour teacher and, still to this day, my favorite. During that time I was also coached by 20+ other parkour athletes that worked there at the time. Unfortunately Rami is no longer one of the Head Coaches, or affiliated with Movefree Academy. Rami's vision and burst of excitement for parkour and self improvement, the community also left with him, as many coaches decided to leave too. The only remaining Head coach and person who is 18 or older working at Movefree Academy, that I know of, is Kyle Groussman. After Rami and 20+ other Coaches left, the atmosphere at the company no longer felt like it was about parkour, self improvement, and community any longer. I went in nearly weekly not as a coach, but as a student. Each time I did go, the remaining CEO and Head coach, Kyle Groussman, made me uncomfortable on many occasions, shocked me with his manipulative and condescending ways of talking with staff working at the time. Not only did it feel like the staff had to fight to get parkour back, but the classes themselves were lackluster with what parkour even was allowed even though the staff working tried hard to include it. My friend wanted to join my daughter (weekly and a summer camp) and use her 3 auction passes she purchased from our school fundraiser. Jerry refused to accept them despite there was no expiration. COVID further delayed availability. He simply doesn't allow the auction award. His rules are FINAL. Then he proceeded to hang up on the phone call because he "has paying customers he prefers to work with." Yelling at her for wasting his time. I'm sick hearing how rude he was. I have referred several friends over the past month. I had tried to talk to Kyle about what happened and he was very defensive and rude. I thought I was being helpful because my daughter wanted to continue classes; instead, he threatened me! I went in trying to help their failing business (now I know why) and left in tears because he doesn't care about the kids or how rude he treats people. For 3 weeks I tried to get past their rudeness and threats, but it grew and continued. It's quite scary how many children are in his care and parents don't know who they truly are. I had the most shocking and disappointing experience dealing with the owner Jerry from Move Free Academy. I had purchased a 3 class pass(for $60) to their studio at my daughter's school auction 2 years ago. It had no expiration date and with Covid closure since 2020 we didn't get a chance to use it yet. I called Jerry about having my daughter come in using that 3 class pass..she had already tried a class past week and had loved it..his response: "too bad it's expired". When I mention that there's no expiry date, he dismisses me saying "obviously it's expired because I say it is and I'm the only one who gets to decide". When I proceeded to respectfully ask if there was some way to apply part of it he told me I was wasting his time - "he didn't get the money, the school did" and "he had other paying customers to attend to"...and then he simply hung up on me! I was going to sign up for their monthly pass and was already on their summer camp waitlist but forget about some customer service, this guy didn't even find me worth a semi-respectful human conversation. The coaches are fabulous! They work well with students of all ages, providing encouragement while also teaching focus and discipline. Their emphasis on safety and progression of skills is important and reassuring. My son has been taking classes with Move Free for almost 2 years now, both at Bellevue Boys and Girls Club and Emerald City Gymnastics in Redmond. The coaches are friendly and the classes are fun and well run. It's great physical activity in a fun, exciting environment! read more

My 3 kids have been attending Move Free classes for a few years now. The coaches are committed, passionate, and thoughtful in their instruction. Parkour is unique in its grounding of functional movement, body awareness, and pure kid excitement to jump, run and be themselves. I can't think of a better activity to do on its own and prep them for any other sport. read more

I have a few friends and our kids that attend MoveFree. Both the coaches and the owner have been combative and aggressive with us as parents and the kids. I tried to stick things out since we have been going for almost a year now as much as we could. Things are just so bad now that I am unenrolling my 3 kids. read more

Thank you Kyle for a great Parkour birthday. Highly recommend moveFree academy staff for kids birthday . They were able to keep 15 3rd grader busy despite sub-optimal location. Think of MoveFree as a refreshing alternative to 'classic' birthday. Kids are constantly moving around and acting together. read more

I've been going to the MoveFree classes at Emerald City Gymnastics for several months now, and I love it. The coaches are knowledgeable and friendly, and the classes are quick paced and interesting. read more

This place should be shut down! They don't even have an active business license. They are awful to the kids!
