The first weekend went great with them meeting me at the trail head and being flexible with pickup time. The day before my Saturday rental I got a cancellation notification from Compass letting me know I no longer had a reservation leaving me high and dry as no other shops had a rental available on such short notice.

The ONLY reason I stayed this long was for my daughter-and how close and convenient it was to our home. There was a point where my children were sick and we needed a reschedule. I could not get ahold of the Instructor or anyone on this "farm" for 2 weeks. The fact we pay one month ahead and no contact did not sit well with me. Upon finally getting a text to schedule we returned and I did make a comment that I was not appreciative of no follow up. Katie approached me and let me know that she had no time to talk and that she and the instructor liked my daughter and that was the only reason we were "there". A jab at me I can take. I continued to go for my daughter no big deal. I did think it was unfortunate she approached me so hostile as if we were bothering her trying to reschedule for a month we paid for. Unprofessional either way. It's unfortunate that with all of the quotes on empowering women on your walls you act so catty. I suppose that's why she caters to teenagers because she cannot get along with adult women they are seen as a threat. Her sister continued to make comments about a stroller I had walking through the barn.. I had been there 6 months with that stroller and was just now hearing how I shouldn't walk through the barn with it pretty convenient catty behavior comes out full force when they cannot take feedback. As far as " world class facility " goes it is far from that. I've lived in multiple states and visited facilities such as Express Horsemanship in Yukon Ok that is world class. This is highly over emphasized term with this place. No heaters for horses no warm water the floor in the barn is barely held together or flat. The viewing room is dark damp and cold the sliding door barely opens correctly, roof leaks Mismatched roofing and poor lighting. The term working farm is also misused in this case. The female staff seem very intimidated by Katie although probably work perfect for her to boss around. This is absolutely backward and after speaking to a few horsemanship's in the surrounding cities that actually have heat and warm water / clean facilities for clients and horses ... I can see why I should not have settled for Deerfield because of location. If the Owner lived by her written values I could see this place thriving. It is a shame, because young women need great mentors and community. The reputation Deerfield has that I've seen and heard from other facilities/ horsemanship trainers ....is not standing to what their values state, the fact I've heard the same feedback and opinion from ACTUAL high class facilities backs why I need to write this review. THE fact that I have business and family connections to world champion reining coaches/trainers and horses such has the Flarida Family ( Shawn Flarida reining ) and Matt Mills/ Karen Mills ( Matt Mills Reining ) and have told them of her treatment of myself and daughter they could only shake their head and let me know I made a terrible decision going to that "place" And are happy we found better options. The facility has possible potential. The owner seems in my experience to be in a comfort zone of a high school bitter mentality and it's too bad. Check other facilities that will assist in great horsemanship and confidence for your young impressionable child.

We sent our boys here for a week starting July 5th. The boys were put in a cabin with 4 other boys,…read moreone of which was a bully. The cabin counselor was aware of it and did nothing. Suffice it to say their 1st time camp experience was not very pleasant or positive. I reached out to the top manager and let them know. He didn't even have the decency to return my email or give me a phone call.

I took lessons here for a couple of years. After several months it became evident the owner did…read morenot care for his horses or the horses that boarded at the facility. Horses' waters and troughs were often filthy, or the water just about nonexistant. During the winter the horses' water froze. The farm hand broke the ice a few times, but eventually there was no water in the troughs. When informed of the no water situation the owner said that it was the farm hand's job to check and fill the waters. They showed no concern. The paddocks are not picked so the manure builds and builds. The feed is tossed onto the filthy paddocks. There is no fly control in the summer. Because the manure is nor removed from the paddocks there a swarms of flies. Some of the horses are allergic to the fly bites, and their bellies become inflammed to the point of bleeding. And, you guessed it, the owner dles nothing to ease the inflammation. The owner is so disagreeable that all his instructors quit. If something goes wrong or a boarded horse owner points out a lack of care he blames anyone but himself. Here is an example. A boarded horse shelter cover blew away. The facility owner did not replace it. The boarded horse owner eventually bought a tarp to cover the shelter so that the horse had sun and rain protection. This owner also picked their horses paddock and took care of their horses water, as, of course, the facility owner didn't. When the owner asked for the paddock weeds to be cut (the boarded even offered to cut them if they could use the mower) so that they could pick the manure up the facility owner made the boarder feel guilty. Amazing, as the facility owner wasn't even giving the basic care the boarder was paying for. Consequently, the horse owner left. He has caused students to quit because of his mean comments. In my opinion the only thing the owner cares about is the money he makes from kid camps and lessons. It is evident he doesn't give a toss about the animals. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was that I fell in love with one of the horses. I looked after her as best as I could.

We LOVE this place! I cannot say enough or emphasize enough to people when they as that learning horsemanship is a million times more than RIDING a horse. Learning how to communicate with your horse, care for it, work as one, have it trust you, before you even get on is key. The horses are very well cared for, have plenty of room to roam and have horse friends. Jim makes sure that any horses used for lessons or camps have the right temperament and he matches riders to the right horses. He also makes sure that my daughter is not only pushing herself in learning new things, but making sure she remembers all the basics and doesn't just pass those over even though she is an experienced "rider". He is also the most patient person! Jim has also been helping us find the right potential horse to own for my daughter. Again, very careful at looking at temperament and training, but what will fit my daughters personality as well. As the place name states - HORSEMANSHIP is the key. Not horse RIDING. We will support this establishment forever!

This is a nice park in North Bend, with just about everything for the community. The best part of…read morethe Si View Park is the view of Mount Si. You can't beat that. But there seems to be a lot going for it for those living in the area or visiting. There's a community center with a pool, restrooms, water fountain, a trail where you can walk and ride your bike around, a playground, covered picnic areas, accessible parking and a large open space in the center for just about whatever your heart desires. Located in downtown North Bend, it's easily walkable from the businesses and many residential areas around. Nice to know that the city of North Bend has a great community space to go to. I came here to enjoy my takeout and take a break from hiking, and and was happy to have such a large open space to myself. Well, it felt like I had the park to myself even though there were others around. Now I know where to go in North Bend for when I want to relax outside.

Built in the 1930's, it is a former WPA project. Until the early 2000's, it was part of the King County Parks system when it unceremoniously closed in order to save money. Fortunately, local community members banded together and formed King County Metro Parks. Visions were shared, plans were made, Public Bonds were proposed and passed. In the past several years we have seen the property and building transformed. It supports and/or hosts many classes and local events, including Family entertainment (Family Night), a variety of seasonal craft shows, Haunted House, Festival at Mt Si, North Bend Farmer's Market and much, much more. There's a local pool which offers classes, inexpensive swim sessions and rental for parties and events. The Community itself is also available for events. But if you really want to experience it for yourself, come out for the Farmers Market and free concert (featuring local bands and musicians) every Thursday afternoon throughout the summer, OR come to the Festival at Mt Si over the second weekend of August. During the week, campers learn how to improve their riding, both with a group horsemanship lesson and with a one on one round pen lesson. Campers also get to learn survival skills then put them to the test in fun mock survival situations. Campers get to ride on average 15 hours during any given week, all through amazing trails with views that are one of a kind. I love Dynesty for their stress on each person being important as an individual. It is such a welcoming and inclusive environment that teaches the kids respect for themselves and each other. Every interactions I have witnessed in my months of observation have been respectful, focused on positive steps the student can take to improve, and encouraging. This is exactly the environment i want my kids in to learn and grow.
