I wanted to support this local business through print orders for my business, but caught on an…read moreinvoice that we were charged a 60% up charge on copies made totaling over $80 ontop of the copy order. When I reached out to them directly to clarify why we were charged this, I was told that it is their standard for same-day orders, which seems excessive when it is just opening an email file and clicking 'print'. I stated that if there was going to be a substantial up charge, he should've made that clear to see if I was willing to accept this fee or wait their 3-day timeline for an order before moving forward, and that sneaking it in on an invoice and charging my card for that fee was not acceptable. He said he would make an effort to communicate these fees better in the future and after several emails back and forth it was offered that the up-charge would be refunded. The credit has never been issued and when I followed-up, I am no longer being responded to. Beware of ridiculous charges and sneaked in fees and resolutions promised never to be provided.

During the move, their crew wrapped and transported my 55-inch Samsung television, which was fully functional prior to the move. After unwrapping and powering it on at my new residence, I discovered severe panel damage, including cracking and vertical line distortion, ruining the TV. We observed the crew drop a plastic box containing personal belongings and drop our mattress, demonstrating careless handling practices. I booked the Basic Move option and was informed verbally that damage claims are considered on a case-by-case basis. Despite this, my claim for replacement value was formally denied, citing lack of a specialty TV box and basic coverage. Attached are photos of the damaged television. Sylvia came to our apartment a few weeks ago to see the lay of the land. She recommended going by an hourly rate rather than a flat price, because the flat price could change depending on what's encountered. She also emphasized to label boxes well like: master bedroom, kitchen, etc. so we went with hourly rate $165 per hour for three movers. There was an up-charge of $75 because they were also moving a gun safe. They arrived at 8:45am and took a quick tour of our apartment. They explained how they go about it. The movers are Luis, Josue and Juan. What a team. Luis is the leader. Amazingly, they were done in 2.75 hours. This is the furniture for a two bedroom, two bath, den, kitchen, living room , dining area and the balcony we're talking about. Plus all the accompanying boxes for each area. We had boxed up everything we could and labeled as Sylvia had requested. And gave them clear paths as best we could to the major pieces. We had a lot of boxes! We wholeheartedly recommend this company for your moving needs.

We chose Fresh Start Moving in part because we wanted to support a veteran-owned business. I grew…read moreup as a military child and later retired from active duty myself, so supporting fellow veterans and veteran-owned businesses is something I genuinely value. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing. Before the move, Fresh Start Movers completed an in-person walkthrough of our four-bedroom home and belongings to assess what needed to be moved and provide an anticipated cost. We relied on that assessment and the quote they provided. What was especially frustrating was that we were not informed that an additional trip would be required until after the movers had already started loading our household goods into the truck. At that point, we were told a second trip would be necessary, which caused the total cost of our move to essentially double. Considering the company had already conducted an in-person walkthrough of a four-bedroom home, I believe they should have arrived with a truck large enough to reasonably accommodate the move. At minimum, we should have been advised beforehand that multiple trips might be necessary and what that could mean financially. Finding out after loading had already begun left us with very little choice. I do want to acknowledge that the movers themselves were polite and worked to complete the move. My concerns are primarily with the company's planning, pricing, communication, and follow-up. After the move, we contacted Fresh Start Movers multiple times regarding two unresolved issues. First, there is a box that their movers packed that we have been unable to locate. We packed everything else ourselves, so we are specifically trying to determine where the box they packed was placed. Second, a piece of our treadmill was broken during the move, and we are still waiting for a response regarding reimbursement so that we can order the replacement part. The move took place on a Tuesday, and nearly a week later, we are still waiting for the company to address the treadmill reimbursement and provide clarification regarding the box their movers packed. The lack of follow-up has made an already frustrating experience even more disappointing. We selected this company because we wanted to support a veteran-owned business, and we expected better communication and accountability. Although the move was completed and the movers were courteous, the unexpected second trip, a final cost that was essentially double the original quote, poor communication, and unresolved concerns involving missing and damaged property significantly affected our experience. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this company get everything in writing regarding truck size, the expected number of trips, possible additional charges, and how missing or damaged property will be handled before the move begins.

Horrible experience with Chapa's Moving service. One of the guys they sent was hung over, still…read moredrunk or sick. He was very slow. He fell and dropped several of our boxes marked clearly as "fragile". They claimed they were able to take apart and put our sleep number bed together. They took it apart but were not able to put it back together. I called several times to get help for the money I paid to fix the bed and the broken items and they refused to call me back. Do not use them.
