I was extremely dissatisfied with the customer service at Mountain View Tree Farm. After leaving three messages in order to get two trees planted, the owner basically called me a liar, telling me that I never called back. The trees were finally delivered and planted, but the Bing Cherry was not the healthy one that we had chosen. The tree that was planted in our yard appeared dead. Today, three months after it was planted, the tree has no leaves or buds and still appears dead, despite daily watering. With all the nurseries to choose from in the area, I would not recommend Mountain View Tree Farm. Not only is the customer service poor, the owner calling me a liar, then having a dead tree delivered and planted in my yard, clearly reflects his lack of integrity. read more

A great experience. I went to Mountain View Tree Farm around Labor Day 2021, expecting to select a variety of evergreens for my property. I selected 10 trees with recommendations from the man who drive me around the farm. I wanted evergreens that would not get over 30 feet when mature. I was also looking for items that would handle the local winds, add privacy and cut down some of the noise near a busy road. I was given a six week window, which was perfect for fall planting. The two men arrived within the six week window and asked me to tell them where I wanted to trees planted and how far apart. They recommended 12-15 feet and the stagger the trees to cut down on the road noise. They planted them, adding fertilizer and creating a moat for each tree. They also secured each tree by adding sturdy wood posted. Once they were finished they made sure I was happy with the placement of each tree. They then watered each and gave me instructions to water them daily for two weeks and after that, once a week. I was so happy with the results, I will be back around the same time in 2022 to select more trees for planting. read more

We've had extensive amount of landscaping done with Mt ViewTree Farms. Been having some leaks which we called to have the team show up. Twice we've had no shows. This summer after going to all the local hardware stores cannot get parts to fix the landscaping hose I stopped in and the guy working gave me a couple couplers. now more leaks, so I ran over.first time I showed up they asked if I could return in a half hour so I did. Scott informed me I could get at Home Depot. I explained we looked there. He still wouldn't assist and was pretty rude. read more

Although the job is not quite done, given that it is spring (April 2016) and people are itching to find good landscaping companies and get started planting, I decided to go ahead and write a review. First, let me state that I am a Master Gardener, though not from Nevada. Still, I thought I knew what I wanted in landscaping my most bare or sage-brush covered acre. I did a lot of research into local plants and laid out a schematic with the various water lines and plants all to scale. Then I got connected with Mountain View Tree Farm and discovered the difference between knowing about how to plan a garden and having not only true knowledge of local plants and their availability, but also having an artist's eye. I was humbled by the experience. What did we have done? Grading, lots of hardscape (pavers, stone walls), erosion control, planting of trees and bushes, rocking a long drive way, installation of an area for a vegetable garden, and literally tons of mulch to keep the dust down. Prices? In my opinion more than fair. Certainly a lot better prices that some of the other local nurseries. And Rob Rice, the owner was always looking to keep our costs in line. Quality? The plants were all nice and healthy with a wonderful selection because Rob ordered what ever we needed that he didn't have in stock. (Do not be put off by what you see in the yard in regards to bushes. Rob can work wonders in getting you the plant you want.) And his trees were exceptional. I'm getting compliments on them already, and they've only been in the ground a month. Work ethic? Not only were all of the workers that participated in our large project hard workers, Rob either made sure he was providing oversight that things went well, or had Tino, his foreman manage the job. I can't say enough good things about Tino! Cleanliness? The lot was almost always kept clean and neat during the project, which so far has taken about 9 weeks of continuous work. (Did I mention it was an acre?) Timeliness? I was lucky to be first in line for this spring's planting because they get a lot of business. I had tried to get started last fall, but didn't go directly to Mountain View Tree Farm and had problems with the other 2 sources that I thought were going to do my landscaping. Rob and the crew were punctual, and despite all of the construction work, were relatively quiet. (No loud radios or talking like sometimes happens with this kind of job.) One of the most important aspects to the job for me was communication. I told Rob at the outset that we were flexible should he need to pull his crew off for anything (emergencies do happen); all I expected was to be kept informed of any changes. I couldn't be happier, especially after the absolutely terrible communication with the first landscaper I had tried. Communication was actually so good that Rob would tell me in advance when the crew would be smaller than normal or when new spring plants were arriving. (We started in February, so not all plants had arrived for the season.) As the job progressed beyond hardscape, Rob really shone in his suggestion of what to plant and where. Sometimes I disagreed, but once Rob explained his vision I think I went with 99% of his ideas. I am certainly glad I did! read more

I was mislead and made a trip to this place for nothing. I wanted 5 gal. evergreen trees and was assured that all on their web list were available. Big joke. Poor selection and even the prices quoted over the phone were not even close. They just want to get you onto the property. Giant 15 gal trees are nice but not what I asked about. They don't need your business. That's what we were told by the bombastic, rude and unresponsive owner after waiting a year for him to make good on a promise of replacing or restoring terribly incorrectly planted trees. We paid $2000 to have 4 trees delivered and planted a year and a half ago. They sent a big truck a back hoe and 4 guys. Did a great job. So we ordered 4 more large trees last summer expecting the same service. Wrong! They sent 1 guy in a pick up truck with a shovel. My husband could've done that. But we paid a professional to do it correctly. And they did not. We wanted shade so we bought poplar trees. Unknown to us you don't plant them in the heat of July, with a shovel, and a very small hole, which is what they did. Trees lost all their leaves within a week. No shade as promised! No leaves for a year! We called, emailed, send multiple pictures, showed up 4 times-got repeated promises and zero action Finally, months later we were told wait till next summer and they'd make good. Nope. Lies. Went in 6 weeks ago again, )it's 20 miles from our house,) and were given a huge loud, bag of wind & the runaround by the owner who did not listen to a word, just yelled over us-finally said "i I don't need your business". We were told they would give us "credit only" which is was written in large letters across our file on their desk. He has not honored that or any promise he has made in over a year- we are left with very expensive trees in very small holes that are struggling straining, not growing and leafless. Small claims court is our only option I suppose. We are business owners and work hard to make our customers happy. This guy flat out doesn't give a damn and he will tell you that.it's stunning to me that they would charge us the same amount of money for 4 guys in a backhoe as they did for one guy with a shovel who willingly told us they were short staffed and didn't have anybody else. I'm furious and disappointed and would like to advise anybody thinking of using this business to reconsider because they will treat you terribly-plant the wrong things in the wrong season, and then tell you they don't need your business. Not to mention multiple lies about replacing or at least three digging the holes. End of rant. Karma will have to deal with this guy:/ read more
