Never responded to multiple calls and messages for solar repair. They are literally 2 miles from my home. Lost business!

I was pleased to find that REenergizeCO did them all and were more than just an installer but on mission to increase energy efficiency. From start to finish communication was fantastic. They first did the insulation and we noticed a difference almost immediately. They also took care of submitting the Xcel rebate paperwork for it. The solar panels and EVSE came a bit later. Again, they took care of all the paperwork with Xcel. The system has been working without flaw since and saving us tons of money in this inflated energy cost environment. We had them out recently to detach and reset the panels for a roof replacement. They took the opportunity to slightly tweak the layout for better efficiency. Still the same commitment to quality!

Photon Brothers wasted 6 months of my time and cost me roughly $17,000 due to their negligence. I repeat, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CHOOSE PHOTON BROTHERS. There are many solar companies out there, take your business elsewhere!! This is a company that puts customer service LAST and will throw you under the bus and leave you hanging the when issues arise and they need to do something that inconveniences them or impacts their bottom line despite contracts, written and verbal promises and basic honorable/professional business norms. Our family moved into our new home in June and immediately began comparing solar proposals. I ultimately chose Photon because Sam Johnson (senior sales rep) appeared knowledgeable. I was explicit with Sam about the type of roof and shingle I had--I even sent him the official documentation from the roofing company detailing the type of roof and shingle. He assured me multiple times that Photon could handle it and told me he had built extra labor costs into the contract for exactly that reason. We signed a contract and approved financing. Then came the site visit with the installation supervisor, Drew Perry. I was on the roof with Drew as he inspected everything. He told me directly that the roof was suitable and we were "good to go." Every step of the way, Photon reassured me the system would be installed before year-end so I would receive substantial expiring federal tax credits. Throughout this process, I repeatedly checked in with the project manager, Kaitlyn Martinez. Responses were rare, slow, and unhelpful--but when she did reply, she also confirmed everything was on track for installation before year end. Install day--November 24--was when it all fell apart. Only that morning did the installation team realize they had completely overlooked the shingle type and couldn't install the system, even though I had disclosed this upfront and even though their own supervisor had inspected the roof in person. The install crew told me they messed up and would make it right and still get it done before year end. Kaitlyn (project manager) called--one of the only times she ever did--and assured me there would be no added cost and they would still complete the project by year end, I was reassured again that they would uphold the contract and their promises. That turned out to be untrue. After several incredibly frustrating conversations with Sam and co-owner John Johnson, where I had to constantly call them for updates, I was finally told that Photon would NOT complete the project at all. They openly admitted they made the mistake but refused to honor the contract or their repeated promises because it would cost them more in labor. John specifically told me that--even though the error was entirely on their side--they were not willing to take the financial hit to fix it and I was just out of luck. They refused any sort of compensation for my lost time and money. John initially tried to blame me because I had a difficult roof, then blamed Drew Perry (instillation supervisor), then blamed his Ops team then just told me verbatim "construction is difficult" and I need to understand that, so too bad for me. As a result, I've lost more than six months of time and a ~$17,000 tax credit, all because Photon Brothers failed to do their job, failed to communicate, and then refused to take responsibility for their own mistake. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering this company. They overpromise, underdeliver, and when their internal failures come to light, they deflect, delay, and ultimately leave the customer holding the bag. I cannot recommend them under any circumstances.

Klick Solar uses Sunlight Financial to finance their customer's solar panels. What no one tells you is that as soon as your loan balance drops below $15,000 the loan is no longer assumable. This fact alone will cause you serious problems that last for years when selling sell your home. I had a sales contract for list price on my home and the buyers agreed to assume the $14,000 loan for the solar panels. It was not until the finance company (Sunlight Financial) was contacted to arrange for the buyers to assume the loan that I was told that a loan balance below $15,000 could not be assumed. Since I wasn't willing to simply give away $14,000 on the sale of my home, the sale fell through. This is a serious problem because if the buyer can't assume my solar loan, I have to pay it off at closing and lose $14,000 dollars on the sale of my home because I have the misfortune of Klick Solar using Sunlight Financial. Until my situation, my realtor had never heard of a solar loan not being assumable. If you can't pay cash for your solar panels, shop elsewhere and save yourself some serious problems and or money down the road.

I fully acknowledge that I terminated the contract well after the 72 hour deadline, but it was mainly after an accumulation of red flags. I also freely admit I was not a careful consumer - I am moving across the country and have been putting all of my energy and thought into that. I put out a request for bids on gutters on my house on Yelp and got a bunch of responses. I arranged for some of those contractors to come out to look at the gutters on my house. G3 Roofing was the first company to come out. there were a handful of reviews on BBB that were all glowing - they have since disappeared - but now there is only a one-star review from another person who objected to their aggressive selling approach. Brian and Alyssa showed up to give me an estimate. Brian immediately wanted to know when my roof had been replaced and volunteered to take a look. It had been 7 years since it was last replaced, so I said fine. He concluded that it needed replacing and offered to talk to my insurance company and they say they will send someone out - he says he can be at my place to show them what's up. Again, I said fine because right now I'm overloaded. We talk about the gutters and modifications that could be made. I say I'll talk to some other contractors and let him know. He demands to know why I need to talk to other contractors - looking back it was all weirdly aggressive. I was very uncomfortable. That should have been my first red flag. I rationalized it to myself that in Colorado, getting your roof replaced is pretty standard, and he says he's only going to charge me as much as the insurance is giving me (which is normal, not some amazing deal). Ok fine. Plus, I'm juggling a hundred other things like fixing the yard, finding painters and yard maintenance people and planning how to move me, my pets and my worldly possessions across the country. Yeah, I was an easy mark. I sign the contract a couple weeks later and don't really look too closely at it. Then a couple weeks after that G3 roofing requests the entire insurance payment as their deposit and says they will send someone by to pick up the check. And that's when the alarm bells started clanging in my head. I told them I was not comfortable with that and would like to terminate the contract. It's well past their 72-hour back-out period. I told them 50% up-front would have been acceptable and 50% upon completion, but with me heading out of state before work even begins, I could not consider that. Bree emails me from the office that yes, 50% up front is reasonable and they could do that. I don't care at that point because their first move was to request essentially everything up front. I said I was terminating the contract. Bree called and proceeded to assure me that with insurance settlements paying the full amount as the deposit is standard and starts going on about ACVS or whatever. I said I would ask around about that. So I did. I called a general contractor who had done some major home renovations for me a few years ago. He said this was not cool at all and to walk away from it. My friend who spent years flipping real estate and had one of her houses custom built said to run not walk. And pretty much everyone I sought advice from online as well as my lawyer and realtor, said to back out of it. The general contractor I spoke with posed the question: "It's roofing season. Roofers are drowning in work. Why is this company so desperate to hold on to your business?" Why indeed. No work had been done and no materials had been ordered according to a recent email. So I sent them an email that yes, indeed, I was terminating the contract. Bree sent a sorrowful email in response that they would have to bill me $5,450 per the terms of the contract that says 20% in "liquidated damages" will be charged for termination after the 3-day lookback period. I'm very curious why a company in the middle of roofing season that has not lost any money, just some sales time, would try to force an uncomfortable client (due to the hard sell techniques and pay schedule) to continue working with them rather than moving on. Avoid this company.

He also was nice enough to provide the phone number for the manufacturer (SolarEdge). Hopefully somebody can make this right.
