This ranch is top notch! My bf and I did the breakfast trail this past Tuesday and it was truly amazing! The horses were so gentle and well trained. The trail, was so nice and peaceful and when we arrived at the breakfast site, it was so beautiful. We sat on a bridge that was over a creek. It was so intimate and the food was delicious. It was just perfect and the staff were all amazing!!! I can't wait to go back next time, to do the 3 hr dinner trail!! Thank you again, for such an amazing experience!!!!

Had a great time on our ride. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and most importantly, the horses were gentle! Great view from the top of Beech Mountain.

    We had a great time!!!

We had a 10:30 trail ride. Everything went smoothly. Our guides were great. This is the place to go for horseback riding in the Lake George area

That's the mountain you go up!

We had SO much fun on our ride! We did the sunset dinner ride...1 hour ride up the mountain, then they cook you a delicious BBQ meal (not fancy but delicious!), and you get to sit on the top of the mountain for an hour, and then it's another hour back down. The staff were great and super friendly. The horses were very well behaved and well kept. Reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back! Only con: No bathroom! There's only a stinky porta-potty.

It is a very organized place . I went there without reservation and the staff worked out to fit me in their schedule. Our guide was very very nice ... she was very interactive , explaining and instructing us during the course. The horses are calm and clean. I'm looking forward to go again next summer. I really recommend this place.

    The view at dinner.

We've been to Bennett's a few times now and at different times of the year. The rides have always been perfect - gentle horses and beautiful scenery, great staff too, always friendly and professional. This is going to start sounding like a restaurant review but they do a dinner ride that's fantastic. You order before you go - steak, chicken or salmon - and when you get to the top of the mountain it's freshly cooked and waiting for you. Beautiful views and great food. some more pics here - http://robertiulo.com/2016/09/dinner-at-lake-luzerne/

In 2024, we were on a Six Flags kick and hit up as many on the east coast as we could. One last stop was to Great Escape, another of the parks within driving distance of the Boston area. Our trips to these parks farther away usually end up being multiple days, so on this visit we did a Sat/Sun visit during spooky season. As you drive along I-87, you spot SFGE off to the right. What greets you though isn't the best looking park in the world because you've got to see front and center, one of the ugliest Arrow coasters known to man. This thing has seen better days, the best thing this place could do is tear it down and put something in that spot that has a wow factor. Like yesterday, just do it. Our GPS took us right up to the park when it was typed in, whoops. Totally our fault, but we had to turn around in a hotel right next door to the park to actually go to the lot entrance, which is on the other side of the road (the sign isn't super big and you get no warning as to when it's coming). Parking in Lot #2 wasn't paved, so it was really difficult for our two kid stroller to navigate, I can't imagine how someone with a wheelchair gets around in there. Pave this next time, please. I continue to mention the two day stay, because one wasn't really pleasant at all while the other was a dream. And yes, when I say that I mean the size of the crowd. Too many unchaperoned teens running around on Saturday not really caring who they might run into or what they were saying around small kids. Sunday was nothing like that and most rides were a walk-on. The park itself is relatively clean, especially compared to its Six peers. It's probably that time of year, but why must you close down what amounts to big portion of the front of the park? I counted 6-7 rides closed the first day, including some kid rides that they were disappointed they wouldn't be getting on. They are trying to compete by adding the likes of Bobcat, the new and possibly the best entry from The Gravity Group. Find something with a small footprint like Bobcat to again, welcome people to the park, not one that your grandparents enjoyed in the 80's. That thing looks far from being any kind of "demon". The carry over items from when it was Storytown are a lot of fun, even if some of them look a bit dated. I'm just glad they decided to keep this decor, from the castle now flowing with rivers of blood for Halloween to the tiny storefronts all kids up to the age of 7 will enjoy. You can also see some of the items from the olden days on the train ride around the park. We got a meal deal for the day, where you can purchase a meal or snack every 90 minutes. As long as you get there early, this is super worth it. But what we didn't plan on was waiting in line 25 minutes to get dinner so this can hurt the timing of it all and you might miss out on a last snack at the end of your day. The nachos were stellar, the pizza I give a 4.2 on the Portnoy scale, and the chicken tenders were you know, tenders. It's amusement park food but at least none of it made us sick to go on rides. The next day we had a treat of fried dough which was super fresh and soft. Staff was hit or miss, 90% of them like most places, were helpful and nice...even if they can be tough to find beyond those working rides at times if you have questions. We ran into a few that could have been having a bad day, it can't be an easy job trying to watch out for the safety of teenage idiots all day. It's not the best Six Flags, refurbishments suck when you hope they wait until after October ends and its all closed until the spring. Some of it still needs an upgrade but overall, we enjoyed ourselves. There is still work to be done and I hope SF and the new corporate structure will continue giving this park the time and money it deserves for what is a pretty rural community. But it was still enjoyable enough to get us back some day, as long as things can remain open and staffed.

One star. Calling this place a 'great escape' is ironic because there is absolutely no escaping the…read moreendless lines, overpriced food, and pure chaos once you walk through the gate. I genuinely think I spent more time waiting than doing anything fun. Every ride had a line wrapped around the park, and somehow the wait times posted were always way shorter than reality. A "45-minute wait" somehow translated into standing in the sun for nearly two hours while listening to screaming children and hearing the same ride announcements over and over until they became psychological torture. To make things even better, several rides were either temporarily closed or breaking down throughout the day. Nothing says "thrilling amusement park experience" like finally reaching the front of the line after forever only to hear an employee announce the ride is shutting down for maintenance. Amazing. Truly unforgettable. The food prices were honestly absurd. I knew amusement parks were expensive, but paying ridiculous amounts for soggy fries and a burger that looked like it lost a fight was painful. The drinks were flat, the pizza tasted like cardboard with ketchup, and somehow even the ice cream line took forever. I'm pretty sure I spent the price of a full restaurant meal just to be disappointed faster. The park itself felt overcrowded and poorly organized. People cutting lines everywhere, trash bins overflowing, bathrooms looking like they survived a natural disaster by midday, and employees who either looked completely exhausted or like they'd rather be anywhere else on Earth. I get that working there probably isn't easy, but the overall atmosphere felt stressful instead of fun. Parking was another disaster entirely. It took forever to get in, forever to leave, and the walk back to the car at the end of the day felt like crossing a desert after surviving battle. By the time we left, everyone in the car was sweaty, tired, annoyed, and questioning why we paid so much money to suffer together. The roller coasters themselves were decent when they actually worked, but nothing there made the experience worth the price or frustration. The water park was packed shoulder-to-shoulder, lazy river wasn't lazy at all, and trying to find a chair felt more competitive than getting concert tickets. Overall, the only actual "great escape" was finally driving out of the parking lot and going home. I expected a fun summer day and instead got expensive heat exhaustion with occasional roller coasters."

Amazing to me I hadn't tried this spot for so long, but no regrets now, what an incredible disappointment. More than anything, I was shocked by the lack of options and lack of creativity in those options. There is a giant lazy river, an upstairs treehouse for younger kids and three slides you see from the northway and you will wait an inordinately long time to go down. That's about it, unless you pay for a special area that, honestly, had like one or two other sad looking wave pools anyway. There is one tiny adult-only hot tub that sad adults can cram in for a few uncomfortable kid-free minutes. The quality is poor -- any adult over five feet accompanying their kid in the wave pool will probably leave with scraped knees from the cheap floor. The water is barely kept warm enough. And don't even ask about the cheap plastic food and the surly, possibly meth-addled service it comes with. All this for an absurdly high price in a crowded venue. Might keep your kid entertained for a bit, but even our son got bored quicker than we expected.

The front desk staff led by a Mr. Roger's look-alike handled the situation so poorly. I'd urge the company to make sure their customer service agents are actually willing to serve customers, not belittle them.
