These guys were wonderful every step of the way. While the experience is incredible, the great staff made this whole day truly special. Everything for our white water rafting adventure was taught to us and explained in great detail. Everyone felt comfortable. Equipment was kept in great shape, and we felt confident in the gear and the staff. The staff were also really funny, making everyone feel welcome. We rode a shuttle to our put-in site, and we carried the rafts down to the river. Shortly after, we were on the water going through class three rapids, and it was a blast! Going for a swim in the calm sections surrounded by wilderness was incredible! The water gun fights between groups was also great fun. Overall, I would do this again time and time again. We were matched with people of similar age and ability in our boat. FYI, our family was myself, my husband and 17 yo son. If you have a chance to choose Crabapple, do so. You'll get a family run business that focuses on service, safety, and fun. Just a note, our first experience whitewater rafting was in a different state and with higher class rapids. As a newbie, it was much less fun as our guide there barked orders and yellled if we weren't "pulling our weight". So don't align the class of rapids with the fun factor... go with people who will make it fun.

I'm glad it was Costa Sol Rafting. Make sure you book at least a day in advance, a week or 2 during busy season. They will pick you up so don't bother driving. We were at a Hostel in San Jose. First of all. I don't care what anyone says. Our guides Jorge and Ronnie kept us alive. 3 out of the 6 of us fell out of the boat during our 1st class 4 rapids. I was lucky enough to have stayed on the boat so I was privileged to see Jorge and Ronnie work under pressure. They were absolute experts while shouting commands at those in the water and at us in the boat. We all made it out! Sounds scary? Look people. You're white water rafting class 1 to 4 rapids. So don't complain how dangerous it is. Go to the rivers that offer only cute class ones if class 4 is not your thing. If my rescue story isn't enough reason to choose Costa Sol Rafting, not sure what you're looking for. All the companies raft the same Pacuare River. BUY THE DISK!!! Check out my pics. When we arrived at the 4th bridge, our stopping point, she made us pay extra for the rafts. Mind you she never explained to us that the rafts were extra. Plus when we tried to tell her she never explained that the rafts were extra, she said "Well I said to get tubes not rafts." I recommend finding another place to go. Not only that, her lack of communication lead to a payment mixup that was handled terribly on her part. She ended up screaming at us and threatening to not give us our car keys back unless we did as she demanded. Otherwise, the river was beautiful and very relaxing. However, I recommend finding a better place with more respectful customer service.
