Around the World Golf Club House

Absolutely love this place! Lake George Village's Around the World in 18 Holes has been my favorite miniature golf course since I was a kid, when we started taking our vacations on the lake, and it remains a place I always have just a total fun time shooting a round whenever I can make a stop in town during the summer! While there's also "Around the U.S.A." second set of 18 holes, the "World" course is (at minimum) my go-to! An amazing place for kids and/or adults to play!!! The well-maintained "World" course (which dates back to 1963) may apply a stereotypical motif to a country's hole, like German Beer Steins and Mexican Sombreros, across your game you'll face a range of difficulties and decorations that should leave you smiling whatever your score. Clearly, the all-time most challenging hole to get a "Hole in 1" (I think anywhere) remains the 8th Hole Brazil with Sugarloaf! That hole's uniqueness is hard to forget! And, if you get a "Hole in 1," you get a free game!!! Just a thought, though: While the holes have had some updates over the years, the geographic distribution covers heavily Europe and Asia, omitting a hole dedicated to anywhere in Sub-Saharan Africa. Perhaps, given its reaches higher above sea level than the Matterhorn, maybe the 16th hole could be converted to honor Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Hemmingway certainly made those snows on top of it iconic. Look forward my next time here and recommend on your trip to Lake George you make it a point to journey to enjoy "Around the World!"

This mini golf has 2 courses- around the world and around the US. My mom, brother, and I played the world side. While they said this was easier.... It was NOT easy lol. We had a blast competing against each other and reading the facts about the countries at each hole. The decor was so nostalgic but well maintained. We even saw the owners repainting the top of the building where you pay and get your equipment. We spend about 1.5-2 hours playing the 18 holes. There are water features, moving obstacles, and other challenges. It feels nearly impossible to get a hole in one but it's more funny than frustrating. I'd highly recommend this adorable course. It's clearly well cared about by the owners and I love the theming!

This was an awesome mini golf course! There's 2 choices - 18 holes of USA states or 18 holes of different world countries. You get a discount on one if you play the other, so we did all 36 possible holes! It was a lot of fun, and only like $35 total for 2 people for 36 holes of mini golf! Each hole is unique to the state or country it features, and has funny designs and moving parts at times which are representative of the place. The holes could be pretty challenging at times, with the USA side being a bit tougher. The holes are tough enough to be fun, but you don't have to be a pro golfer to get some decent scores. Don't miss this if you're in Lake George!

A mainstay. A local favorite that you have to do. Around the world is the way to go.

In my travels I have played mini golf courses all over the US. Around the world golf was one of the courses I was most looking forward to playing before I played it, this is usually a recipe for disaster, but not in this case. This is one of the best courses I have ever played. They have 2 18 hole courses here. One is US themed, the other is Themed around the world. Both of the courses look stunning and are perfectly upkeeped . The location is also great located right off the lake, and to make it better they have free parking. The international course has holes ranging from the Taj Mahal in India, to the pyramids in Egypt to the Arc de Triomphe in France. It is quite the global tour. When we played the courses we James packed but everything moved quickly. The staff was also nice and friendly. Everything was clean. They take credit cards. There was nothing more I could ask for in mini golf. Overall one of the best courses that I have ever played and a must do if you are in the lake George area.

This place is great! There are two separate mini golf courses one is Around the World where you play holes created to the themes of different countries and then the Around the USA golf course takes you threw different US states. If you place both courses in the same day they provide you with a discount which was great and a lot of fun for my family. My daughter's favorite hole was the one shaped like a guitar. The goal is to have the ball go down the center strings (metal bars) for a hole in one. Some of the other holes were just as creative. Each course was well maintained and the parking is free if you're playing golf however the same parking lot does also charge $8 per hour for parking.

This is such a fun mini golf course. I recently took my family here because going here was top on my son's summer to-do list. We all loved it. We did the around the world course. So many neat scale models to see and some interesting obstacles.

This mini golf course has quite the reputation and the layout and holes have awesome themes. However, the course is older and the greens show it. The carpet for the holes is worn and the holes often times lack gradients in height and shape and the creativity associated with newer mini golf courses - it's mostly just trying to hit the ball through a very small opening. The lines can be very long also. I still have to give this place 4 stars for the well thought out concept.

The greens are kept in perfect shape with no ruffled turf, loose bricks, piles of leaves, etc. The (very blue) waterfall was working and added ambiance. Scattered throughout the course are interesting pirate vignettes and facts, and the caves and bridges added to the experience. The course itself is a bit different from most others. Many courses add artificial challenges (sand bunkers, gravel areas, missing sidewalls near water, windmills, etc.) to make it difficult. Here, every hole is straightforward. And most of them are short. Therefore, it is best to approach it as each hole could (should?) be doable as a hole-in-one. And I got two, my friend got another two, and everyone around us was getting them. Does that mean the course is too easy? No, not at all. But, it isn't a course where you should be taking more than 2-3 putts to get it in the cup. There are no dogleg holes, etc. which add length. Some of the holes have fun twists. I won't give away the surprises, but there were several areas that led to good (and bad!) unexpected results. Play it out and you will see what I mean. The staff were friendly, and they had at least six different sized putters making it possible to get the perfect fit. The prices ($13) were certainly reasonable and comparable to other courses. It was packed on Saturday on a holiday weekend, but because the holes are so short everything kept on flowing nicely. Overall, a wonderful course.

Many of the attractions were not open (bumper cars, indoor go-karts, kids inflatable play area), and those that were tended to be underwhelming. The go-karts were fun, and the rides were generously long, but that may have had to do with the lack of crowd size despite the beautiful weather. The go-karts themselves were wildly different in top speeds, and your success on the track was based entirely on the kart you were assigned vs. any actual ability or strategy. No big deal for us, but there was, shall we say, a slightly more competitive family who were extremely annoyed by this, and were letting everyone in earshot know about it. Most of the arcade games were older and not in the greatest condition, with a few exceptions. What was oddest of all was that I found a roll of 5,000 prize tickets just sitting on top of a closed air hockey table completely unattended. I brought them back to an employee at the concession stand and there wasn't even a thank you offered. If it happens again, maybe I'll just the 5' Angry Bird. They also wouldn't honor the Yelp Check-in offer for a free game of Laser Tag. All in all, this place has seen some better days, and both boys enjoyed playing mini-golf at the place across the parking lot far more than they did playing at Adventure Family Fun Center, but you could certainly do worse if you're looking to kill a few hours with the kids.

What started as a simple trip turned into something much bigger a weekend that's about reconnecting, laughing, catching up, and picking up right where we left off every year. By the time the Super Bowl rolls around, it feels less like a trip and more like a reunion. The first week of Winter Carnival just makes it better. The ice bar, great food and drinks, the energy around the resort and town it all sets the tone for an unforgettable winter weekend. A huge part of why this works year after year is the people who make the place feel like home. Courtney, the general manager, keeps everything running smoothly and consistently she sets the standard. Tyler and Nicole at the bar are always a big part of the weekend, and Becca and Tonya at the front desk make arrivals feel easy and welcoming every single time. Even in the heart of winter, the place is always spotless thanks to Keisha and her housekeeping crew something we appreciate more than most people realize. Sixteen straight Super Bowl weekends, countless memories, and friendships that keep growing. Some traditions just stick because they're done right. Can't wait to see everyone again at the Holiday Inn Resort Lake George. Already counting down.

The location is convenient and feels like part of our ritual now. The staff are almost uniformly kind and welcoming to our kids and us. They remember us, greet us cheerfully and make this feel like a home base. The outdoor hot tub was a particularly welcome amenity on this past brutally cold weekend and it helped us warm up a chill that seemed to go straight to our bones after time outside on the lake. It really is one of those few places that feels like a welcome retreat no matter the weather. If there weren't any flaws, this would be a much easier review to write. But there are flaws, and they are things that should have been tended to long ago. The rooms have definitely seen better days. Many of our dresser drawers barely opened. The refrigerator was hardly cool. Furniture had visible damage and some of the electrical outlets were non-functional or battered to the points that plugs fell right out f them. These are not deal breaking in isolation but taken together they left us feeling that the room was tired and poorly maintained. A little thoughtful maintenance or investment here could go a long way and make the rooms feel a lot more comfortable. Another disappointment this year was the breakfast buffet at TRs Restaurant. In years past it was a highlight and something our kids looked forward to to prepare for a cold morning out. This visit, the quality seemed to have declined and the selection felt smaller. The restaurant itself still has a lovely lake view and a cozy fireplace, and the service was still friendly and attentive, but the breakfast spread did not live up to our memories. So I find myself landing on a three star rating. If you take this place for what it can still be, it is a wonderful family resort with great staff and some truly nice amenities. But right now the condition of the rooms and some of the public areas combined with the breakfast experience hold it back from being the much stronger destination I know it can be. Here is hoping that ownership puts some money back into the property so it can recapture its full potential.
