Honest review for anyone that's looking to move here. Me and my girlfriend moved here during covid times so there wasn't a lot of places that were available. We rent a studio which is 1760, but now others are going for 1880 since they raised prices. Decently sized studio but still a studio. First off, before we moved here we read the yelp reviews and it wasn't half bad. Im telling the truth to hopefully just bring honest insight that I wish I had before we signed our lease. The parking... Terrible. You get one assigned covered parking, other than that, you're out of luck. They make you register both cars and you get two parking permits and pay 50$ for a second one. Which makes you think they check for permits and tow since you have to do all that in the beginning . Nope. Tons of people without permits and they don't do anything about it. Had a few people park their uhauls for weeks at a time, and others who leave their car in the same spot for months without moving. If you live alone, you'll have no problem, if not you will be SOL. It really affects our life because if you don't get home by 3pm or wanna go somewhere on the weekend, you'll lose your spot and be forced to park across which isn't trustworthy especially with the cat thefts going on. People will speed around finding a spot, wait for you to leave and zoom in. We've addressed to management and they haven't done anything. They told us " people will always break the rules, we can't do much about it". There current unchanged solution is to leave notices on car to move, but give them 96 hours to move so the next day the process starts all over when they part in a different spot ? Someone had management paint them their own reserved spot, so hey if you move here try to negotiate for a spot, it'll be worth it if u can. The community laundry is disgusting 70% of the time I go. Peoples underwear and clothes left on the floor. Machine breaks and it takes them month to replace. People leave their clothes in for hours even after they are done and will take all the machines up. Makes it very frustrating every week so just something to keep in mind. And Weekends good luck there all taken. Washers cost: 1.50 Dryers are: 1$ They do not pay for ANY utilities, you pay for water, gas, electric, sewer, trash all on your own. Which for our studio comes out to an average of 150 a month. The people here are generally quiet and to themselves. There are less desirable people that leave the laundry, trash area dirty, and are loud and obnoxious, you get that everywhere but they're here just so you know. Plumbing here is terrible, sinks are constantly clogged and seems to be an issue since a plumbing contractor is here every week. These apartments are very old with no upgrades at all. New paint and carpet when we moved in , everything else is old. Old stove, old fixtures, no refrigerator had to bring our own. We have had a few bugs and a few roaches, not an infestation so far but definitely signs they don't do monthly spraying or anything preventative since we see them all around the outer walls and parking lot. I've talked to office management and the Western National property who runs this and others, and they've done nothing but stick behind their polices and not offer any help or responsibilities for the problems. If you wanna talk to upper management you can only talk to a customer care rep that just relays messages. No signs of improvement or care that these problems are going on. A lot of excuses you get told and for the amount you're paying, you shouldn't be dealing with these problems. They say they have security and towing in the lease. Security guy I've seen once a month and he sits on his phone and watches Netflix no joke. I've seen the towing guy twice and he takes a couple laps and leaves, even when there are tons of people without permits. A few positives about this place is definitely the manny the maintenance guy. Will fix whatever's a problem very quickly and very friendly. Which has been often so he's been great. The pool and jacuzzi is clean most of the time and hardly anyone in there. Nice little patio is decently sized for small table. Online rent and service request is pretty convenient. Overall, if you really have to live here and it's your last resort then sign a short lease until you find better, it'll be fine until then. We are paying close to 2,000 for a studio with no in unit laundry, no upgrades, poor management, no parking. There is tons of options and better deals for places with less problems . I would stick to those or pay 50-100 more just to not live in a place like this. read more

I lived here in a studio for 5 years ! It was great never had any problems .The other Tenants were cool quiet and kept to themselves for the most . Through the years stuff would occasionally break but they were quick to fix it . Manny the Maintenance man was always on top of it.Super friendly hard working guy. Guest parking does kinda of suck but most of the time people just park across the street. I never had any of my guest get towed. This apartment complex was me and my girlfriends first place we've lived here for 2 years now and have no complaints the leasing office was transparente about the price and our rent only went up $60 upon renewal for another year. Manage Maria is nice and friendly I've engaged with her a few times and handyman is always friendly and efficient in his work. The complex is quiet and kept clean my corner of clusters is quiet and the neighbors are nice. One of our neighbors even gave us a tomato plant after striking up convo. Easy going place and the only thing is parking is difficult you get one assigned everything else is first come first serve. read more

I had called many, many apartment complexes and Maria and her warmth, quick response times, and interest in making sure I came to the right decision for me and my son absolutely shone through! There truly was no other apartment manager that can come close to Maria. She and I talked quite a bit which made me feel very comfortable with my son's first apartment experience being at Mountain View Apartments. I felt that he would be at ease going to her with any questions or support because of her approachable and gracious style. Let me just start off by saying the staff is absolutely wonderful here when you move in, when you are trying to move out they are all a nightmare, so make sure you get everything in order at least 3 months before you move out. My neighbors were wonderful. However, my boyfriend and I will not be renewing our lease as we will be moving into our first home. However we were looking else where if our house didn't go through. Here are the reasons why: This place is not ideal for first time renters like us, Tyonni is very sneaky in how she handles her business and the charges at the end so beware cause they are snakes! I absolutely love the stream that runs through the apartments, and my neighbors are great. I do see that there are people that live here that don't follow the rules set into place, like only having two cars, and picking up after your pets. This infuriates me because there is never parking... and it was never really an issue until recently. I do not feel safe walking across the street almost every night because I work the morning shifts and parking fills up by 4pm. Also with the parking situation being terrible, they are storing a trailer on site taking over 4 parking spots. One of the main reasons why I signed here is because they said they would have night security... I've seen him 3 times since I've moved in last year. My rent went up $150 to renew because they have been doing all these "upgrades" which are really nothing that concerns the masses. They should really invest in buying out one of these parking lots and making additional parking. The security they charge us for is never there, neither is the staff that is supposed to be working everyday. Like I said Tyonni is a nightmare. She is all about the contract you signed... but anyone at any moment can flip it on her and tell her that they do not abide by the contract that they put out and sign when it comes to parking and night security and loud music all hours of the night. But if you mention one thing to her she becomes rude and passive aggressive. However, Manny and Katie are wonderful to work with. Lastly, the county shut down the spa because it was not in health code! Overall... we signed here for the price. We should have signed somewhere else that was $200 more expensive just for amenities. This place does not have a club house, modern laundry facilities, a business center, the stuff in the gym is always broken, the stream is always gross. Our new manager she seems to have communication problem with certain tenants I have heard from several people who decided to move out because of her. I loved living at Mountain View Apartment Homes! In a nutshell, this is the perfect place if you're single, own ONE car and don't mind a community laundry room. The Pros: 1. Affordable rent for the area 2. Very friendly and attentive office and maintenance staff. My heater went out during the Thanksgiving Holiday I was living at MV apartment homes and the maintenance Supervisor, Manny stopped by the next to let me know they called the Heating company and in the meantime he dropped off a space heater until the heating crew was able to come out to check out my heater! The office staff, Tyonni and Katie are ALWAYS professional and friendly and respond to my calls and/or emails in a timely manner. 3. The apartment unit itself is clean and move in ready on your move-in date. The surrounding complex is well maintained and neighbors are always friendly and ready to share a smile. The (only) Con: 1. Parking is not a problem if you own only ONE car. Each resident is assigned one covered carport and since I lived alone, it was no issue for me. When you do have guests over, the open parking spaces are limited and overfill parking isn't really readily available at neighboring streets. I highly recommend MV Apartment Homes, especially if you're moving out on your own for the first time. Mountain View Apartment Homes really made my first apartment rental experience a pleasant one! read more

My husband and I lived in this complex for 2 years. I am not going to lie, parking is a pain in the ass, but the property doesn't have any more room to add additional parking spaces. Because there is no more room, there is nothing that the management can do. Also what apartment complex doesn't have parking problems?! Tyonni, the property manager is fabulous!! I cannot give her enough compliments. I've always told my husband, if we lived in an apartment long term I would want her to be our manger. No matter what I would bring to her attention, it would always be taken care of right away. I also loved that from the beginning she always remembered what unit we lived in. It made it feel like she truly cared :) The property itself is older but it always felt very clean. I loved all the trees and streams because it made it feel peaceful. Overall, other than parking, I thought this was a great complex run by an awesome manager that truly cares about her tenants. read more

I have lived in many apartments most of my life and this was by far the BEST I have lived in. First off, the people that work there are amazing. They were always so caring and attentive. Liz and Araceli are truly wonderful. Anytime I needed help with something they made sure it was taken care of. Secondly, the complex itself is BEAUTIFUL, one of a kind! The sound of waterfalls is just perfect. In addition, Manny was always available to fix any maintenance issues which there barely was. The whole place is so clean and very peaceful. I loved coming home to my apartment. My little dog Arya even became attached to one of the staff members, they all treated her so nicely. Arya and I will truly miss this place, it will always have a special place in my heart. It was time for us to take the next step and buy a home, which we did. Parking is horrible inside the complex, street parking isn't any better. They assign parking permits . But they assign way more permits than the number of parking spots available. Half the cars parked inside don't even display permits. So just be prepared to struggle for parking. read more

I've lived here for almost 2 years and I absolutely love it here! Tyanni the manager is super helpful and always willing to answer any and all questions. Katie is great with getting back to you promptly and super sweet. Always have smiles on their faces when you walk into the office. My husband and I love it here and its such a safe place to live. Plus its in a great neighborhood, and access to the mall and freeways. Definitely check this place out! Plus the amenities are a major plus. Me and my partner have been living here for almost 7 years. Management was great when Tyonni was managing it. She made sure everything was clean, up to date, made sure everyone followed rules by doing apartment walks everyday, and tagged cars that have been sitting there considering parking is horrible here. Laundry room was clean and over all she was amazing. She made this place look nice and enjoyable to live at. Presently as of today with this new management who just sits in the office all day and never comes out to check what's going on here, this place is shit! We do not enjoy living here at all and can't wait till our lease is up to move out! The laundry room is so filthy, the pond is empty and so dirty it's disgusting. Cars have been sitting there for months with spider webs attached to the tires considering parking is so bad people have to park their car across the street feeling their car isn't safe. The only good thing about here is that yes its quiet but manny the maintenance guy does whatever he can to help and is awesome. We wish Tyonni can come back! read more

My Family and I have lived at Mountain View for about 3 years now. We were attracted to the community's calm, safe environment. It has been that and more as the time has gone on. Tyonni and Katie are always very sweet. Concerns and maintenance requests are handled promptly. It is a pet friendly community and they were very sweet when one of my furbabies passed away this last year. All in all Mountain View is a great family community, perfect for anyone looking for serene environments, nice staff and spacious apartments. read more

These apartments aren't like other Apartment communities. They Actually care about Their renters. The ponds, pools, landscaping are Always on point! The Maintenance crew is on top of everything . This place is horrible. Lived there for 2years. Outdated appliances, microwave was literally held together with glue (their quality of repairs) faulty laundry facilities that either don't dry or wash clothes properly. Tons of stray cats that love to slide down your vehicles sometimes leaving scratches. That is IF you're ever able to find parking which half of the available parking area is located under trees that leave sap on your car, giving your windshield a nice rain effect. Management could care less about any issues you may have as they usually just say "I don't regularly work at these apartments, I'm just covering". In all save yourself the headache of having to deal with these issues. I wish I did and didn't have to feel this sense of regret from living here. Any rating above one star is false. Just read the reviews. This place is the worst. read more

Also, Rodney, the maintenance man, is awesome! Doesnt make you feel uncomfortable fixing your maintenence issues when youre home, and definitely is someone i can trust to enter and fix things when im not home. Just wanted to add one of my smallest dogs was attacked Saturday night but wasn't badly hurt Thank God, Ever since I moved out of MV apts and lived where I'm at now I have to walk them down the side streets main streets etc where of course you may encounter stray dogs different breeds different weights, it's stressful to walk my dogs especially now because although I've been pretty good in scaring most dogs unfortunately this one got to one of my dogs and ironically the stupid drunk owner was walking his half pit half idk what heavy breed down the street unleashed. He took off running with this pet irresponsible not worried about my pet but let's see if I ever run into him, I won't comment further on this. Too make a long story short, I never felt scared walking my dogs when I lived in Mountain View apts because we had our own community beautiful courtyard with streams etc, we never had to go outside into the darn streets, now I have too, There is a small patch area but not enough for my dogs to really get a good walk so just saying for those who have dogs and really care about them. Mountain View has a good policy on breed restriction and weight restriction, You won't have to worry about walking your pets in the morning or evening, I never was worried even late at night. Unfortunately I no longer roommating so can't afford living there which is why I moved. Plus a job I got was in a different area. IF you have a pet and can afford living there there, go for it. It's worth it. You are paying for quality, quality living. Where I live now even roaches or rats wouldn't want to live here seriously. My goal in upcoming year is to move to a similar place as M.V. but in the I.E. which is where I live now read more

I've been living here for 2 years and I gladly renewed my lease for a 3rd year. This is a beautiful well maintained community. I have had nothing but good experiences living here. If a maintenance issue were to ever come up they would immediately fix the issue. The staff is always willing to help with any issues you may have and the manager Tyonni is always quick to correct any problems you might be having. My 2 years here have actually felt like a getaway at a resort somewhere in Palm Springs with the beautifully landscaped grounds and cleanliness throughout the property. read more

Let me start off by saying I've lived here for a little over a year. My lease recently ended and I happily renewed it. The office manager and part time manager are very friendly and helpful. We went through a traumatic event in the family. And the manager was very supportive, helpful and kind. Not like other complexes, where you only see the manager when rent is due. The maintenance does a great job at keeping the community clean and safe. The creek that flows through the complex is very relaxing and a unique attribute to this quiet little community. They keep the pool well cleaned and the gardeners are here frequently keeping landscape clean and tidy. Upland is a very nice little city to live in. So rent can be a little higher than average. But Mountain View helps level out cost of living. Just about everything you could need is in walking distance. Neighbors are very friendly. If a resident is causing problems the management makes sure that its dealt with professionally and efficiently. I'm not planning on living in an apartment forever. But Mountain View apartments is very "homey". read more

I lived in Mountain View Apartments for the past two years and fully expected to be there for several more years, but finally moved out this past week. In the past two years, there have been 3 different managers. The first two were fine, but the new management are the most unprofessional and uncaring that I have ever experienced. With so many apartment choices, why stay at a place that could care less? I believe that many of the professional people who lease there will be letting their leases expire and move out. It is a shame, but management really does makes a difference, both good and bad, and unfortunately, in this case, bad. Since the new management have come in, the maintenance has shown a decline as evidenced by the once nice stream that goes through the facility is now milky. The quality of the residents has shown a noticeable decline. The really sad part is that the current management is totally unaware that their smug attitude is causing a deterioration in their once very good apartment complex. read more
