Some of…read morethe reasons why we chose to enroll our child was they were professional, they allowed our children to play in their indoor playground, and they were also extremely welcoming. We have had no complaints or concerns. The campus is very secure and Jennifer (the director) has been awesome since day one. They have been flexible with us with scheduling issues as they arise. Before Covid-19, we would walk-in and take our child to the class and pick them up. They have a fob system, so they can see who is coming in and out. Since Covid-19, the check-in process has changed to the breezeway, but they have been fantastic throughout this whole ordeal. They make sure there is only one family in the breezeway at a time, they all wear masks, and you can still feel the welcoming environment. Our child has progressed so much, since she has been going to TLE, she was doing great at potty training (they were confident enough with starting her around 2 years and 3 months) and she was doing great. She has seemed to pickup things very quickly and part of it is her older sister, but some of it is definitely from TLE. All we can say is that we were so happy we made the decision to enroll our child at TLE Hurst.

He is smart, and did well on tests, but couldn't understand the importance of daily work and putting in the effort on a regular basis, so he would fail the class until the last minute, when he would turn in late work enough to get his grade to a 69.5 and pass by the skin of his teeth. FWC doesn't allow late work (at all) and it shocked him at first, but he began doing his work regularly. In October of his senior year, I got an email about the honor roll, and wondered why I received it...until I saw his name there in black and white! He also received Academic All-State honors for Track & Field in the spring of his senior year, and he is now going to play football for Hendrix College, which is a D3 high-academics institution in Arkansas. FWC helped him immensely to improve academically.

I really thought it was going to be hard for my son to transition because this was the first Child care I've ever enrolled in, but, after only a couple of days spending time there with my son, he was able to transition very quickly because of Lisa's sweet energy. She's so caring and allows the kids to be free using their imaginative mind, while teaching them to be in a calm state when there are any hard emotions. They spend a majority of their time out in Nature learning and appreciating God's gift, which is what I wanted for Clifford. I would study a little a bit of a Waldorf education before placing your child here, because it is very different from your every day DAYCARE or SOCIETY DAYCARE. If your looking for a place for your kids to be inside all day watching tv, and learning about your repetitive ABC's, 123's... this is not the place to go. It turned out to be a really enjoyable experience. The orchestra sounded great, and it looked like TCU students acted out parts of the story alongside the music, which added a nice visual element. The show was about an hour long, making it perfect for kids--it kept my daughter engaged the whole time. Overall, it had a great atmosphere and was a fun, family-friendly event. I'd definitely consider going to something like this again.

I attended this school over a decade ago. While not everything was negative, several experiences…read moreleft a lasting psychological impact--especially around how certain students were treated. Every part of this review reflects my own personal experiences and perspective as a former student. I share these observations in good faith and hope they offer helpful insight for others. Some teachers were kind and supportive, and I'm grateful for them. But others showed clear favoritism, often treating neurodivergent students, students of color, and those from less affluent families with less patience, care, or respect. I saw students singled out, shamed, or ignored when they needed help. That includes a teacher in the art department, Ms. M**ks (last names) who, despite appearing nice to some, often appeared to treat students who displayed neurodivergence in a harsh and dismissive way. One classmate with ADHD, for example, was frequently criticized for traits beyond their control. I will add that it appears that there is currently a new teacher in her place, and I cannot find this particular teacher on the school website, which is honestly a relief. I watched as she corrected, belittled, or singled out a few (even a few is too many) students who were neurodivergent or just different in how they expressed themselves. One student in particular, who had clear ADHD traits and a real passion for art, was constantly criticized for things like messiness, distraction, or "doing it wrong." It felt like she used that student's neurodivergent traits as targets, rather than offering understanding or support. The dynamic was painful to witness and left a lasting impression on me. There was also a time I was accidentally injured during a class activity involving a particular art material. I wasn't helped or offered first aid--just told it was my fault by that same teacher. That scar stayed on my body for years. There were also incidents involving body shaming in gym class and situations on school trips that felt physically unsafe. Students with invisible needs or without formal diagnoses were often overlooked. While the school talked about values like inclusion and activism, they weren't always reflected in how staff treated students. I hope things have improved since I attended, because all children deserve a safe and supportive learning environment.
