We had a terrible experience. The owner or main guy there is dishonest and has no accountability. we ordered it the first of November and were told it should be here over Thanksgiving, which it didn't come then we were told it should be here the middle of December and it still didn't come. After calling again with some frustration we were told it wouldn't be here till the middle of January and then suddenly it showed up that day. To top it off the color doesnt match but it was put on anyways, and when we took it back for something to be done he wouldn't do anything and blamed The Ford company. I bought a ARE topper from these guys for my voodoo blue Tacoma. They were so helpful with the installation (doing all of it lol). They were really friendly as well. The topper is in great condition as well. I was a little bit turned off of this place because of their other reviews, but I assure you that these are some of the nicest and most skilled people you'll ever meet. read more

If it were possible to give Mountain Toppers less than one star, I definitely would. This is the worst company I've ever done business with. We purchased a Century High C topper in August and waited 4 months to get it due to manufacturer issues. In December we returned to have it put on our truck. They didn't call us to say it was in, we called them to check on it. After it was installed on the truck, I saw that it was an A.R.E. topper which has front vista glass. We had specifically said when we ordered the topper that we did not want a topper with any front glass. I asked Arther (salesman) if Century and A.R.E. are the same company. He said that Century and Leer are the same, but A.R.E. toppers are a different brand. When I questioned him on it, he said that Century couldn't fulfill our order because they don't make the High C model for our truck. On their receipt they had written that the order had been changed to an A.R.E. brand topper as they are the only topper company that has a bigger door. Arther looked kind of sheepish like he'd been caught because, I suspect, he knew that we hadn't been called about it. I said that no one called me about the change and the owner (Jim) said, "It's been over 4 months, who knows what was done or wasn't done." On their copy of the receipt, it did not indicate that we had been called and Arther said, "Hm...I don't recognize the handwriting on the receipt regarding the change." We left with the topper and the more we thought about it the more upset we got. We had paid for something that we didn't order and hadn't even been informed of the change as we would have cancelled. We went back and talked to Arther and he said that it would be up to Jim as to what would be done. We told him we wanted our money back. He went on about there being costs, and that if they took it back, the topper would have to sit on their lot until someone else purchased it. He didn't think that Jim would do that. Jim wasn't there and I told Arther to have Jim call us. He didn't call. I called again the next day and he didn't return my call. Finally on the third day he called. I asked him what he was willing to do about the situation since we hadn't gotten what we paid for. He said that he wasn't going to do anything as he had it on his receipt that he had called and talked to me and I had okayed the change. We were NEVER called. I suspect that to cover his mistake, he wrote on the receipt after we left that we had been called and had given the okay. Wow! I said to him, "I hope you can live with yourself and that lie." He said, "I can because I have it written on the receipt that you were called and gave the go ahead." I told him that I was going to send a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, and he laughed and said, "Go ahead, I have it written that you were called." If it had been written on the receipt when we picked it up, he would have said pointed it out to us when we questioned them. Like I said, this is the worst experience with a business we have ever had. The owner is completely dishonest. Buyer beware with this Mountain Toppers. If you're looking for a shop that's only interested in making a sale and has no interest in providing service after the sale...Mountain Toppers is it!!! I ordered a brand new Raider shell. Within a month the dome light and 12 volt plugs stopped working. At the same time, the hooks I had added to the ceiling fell out. I took the shell in for the hooks to be fixed and left it with them. The agreement was when they put the shell back on, they would address the wiring issues. When I returned to have the shell put back on, that is exactly what I got...the shell set on my truck. I was told they had no time to address the wiring issue. I was told to drive back (1.5 hours one way) another time to have it looked at. In addition, the e-lock, which I paid extra for and PAID them to wire in, no longer works. The e-lock was the only feature that actually worked when it was dropped off the week earlier. Needless to say, they had no time to troubleshoot what issue THEY introduced. I was told it could be something as simple as a fuse, but they didn't have time to check! My recommendation, spend a few dollars more and find a dealer that will support you after the sale! This place isn't it! read more

Each of my 3 transactions have been very disappointing. The product has been wrong 3 of the 4 times as well. The customer service is awful!! I picked up a carpet kit from them. It was supposed to be lightly used but like new, with the chance of it maybe being a little too big, though they would cut it for me. The other worker displayed great annoyance having to find my pieces, tossing them across the dirt. On the back of each section was written the truck type that piece went to. I received pieces that belonged to 3 different body styles. Needless to say, they did not fit. Pieces were stained, others missing. I faced more attitude when I went back to try and obtain these missing other pieces, which they couldn't find all of. They wanted to charge me, after the purchase, to cut any pieces down, but since the pieces were too small and for a shorter bed, this wasn't even an option. Then there's the camper shell locks: They charged me for the locks alone what I can buy online for the entire lock bundle- handles and hardware included. I asked if they had the other pieces available for sale but he would've had to look around to find some used parts, without hardware of course. I decided to return the locks and , though I have a receipt for a refund, the merchant has not processed the refund. He seemed like doing a refund was difficult for him. It's looking as though there isn't a refund processing at all. He had no problem taking my money right away but it seems I'll be waiting weeks and weeks with disputes, phone calls, various hassle just to get my money back. Did I mention the awful customer service?! Don't go to these guys. read more

This is a great family owned company that has been around for years! I came into the shop looking for a used truck topper. The owner was quick to help me and was genuinely nice! Not only was he able to find me a truck topper in my price range, but he also made me feel comfortable and at home. I had excellent conversations with him, and I left with a smile on my face!
