Even though the maitre d was Caucasian, the chef is Chinese--from Guangzhou. Hubby and I got the hot and sour soup. The bay shrimp in it threw me off. My husband always likes extra seafood, but I had never had shrimp in my hot and sour soup before. We ordered the beef with Chinese greens, but alas they were out of bok choy, so we ordered it with broccoli. You know how some places have the thick, dark brown sauce with their broccoli beef? Well, this place had the authentic light-tasting, light-colored garlic sauce. We were pleasantly surprised that the sauce tasted authentically Chinese and the beef was very tender. The owner came out and talked with us at the end of the meal. He seems like a really nice guy. Moved out here from Vancouver to run his own restaurant. This place doesn't look fancy, but what we ordered was good. Give this place a try!

This restaurant is a hidden gem, literally, the owners live on the ground floor. The restaurant is upstairs. We ordered fried rice, won ton soup, noodles and couple of chicken dishes with sauce. I have personally added this restaurant on yelp because they deserve to be here, people need to hear about this place food is soooooo good. I've only given like 2-3 five star ratings but this place is a must must go if you are visiting the Nicola valley region or even kamloops. It's family run business.
