Size of bagel with my fist to show how huge the bagels are

Visited this shop this morning for a poppy seed bagel. 1) new ownership (local!) 2) different menu 3) amazing food 4) clean and welcoming Met the new owners and love they live right down the road from the shop. Staff top notch friendly, too. The bagel took a little time but once done, I could understand it. The bagel was ginormous and pillowy soft while crunchy from the toasting. Please visit this place. You won't be disappointed.

We were greeted by a hostess who, despite plenty of open tables and several staff members moving around, told us to stand off to the side and wait to be added to a "list." A young waitress tried to seat us right away, but the hostess reprimanded her, so we waited several more minutes before finally being shown to a table. It took a while just to get drinks and place our breakfast order. About 45 minutes passed with no food, while we watched obvious regulars come in, order, and receive their meals quickly. When we checked in with our waitress, she said it would be just a few more minutes. Ten minutes later, they brought out someone else's food entirely. At that point, we no longer felt confident that our meal--if it ever arrived--would be prepared with care or proper kitchen practices. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave. The worst part came as we were walking to our car: the hostess sent our waitress outside to tell us she wasn't allowed to keep the tip we left. That confirmed this wasn't a server issue--it's a management and kitchen problem. It's a shame, because it's a cute little spot on my route to and from work, but this experience was enough to keep me from returning.

Erica the bartender helped us at the bar with food and drinks. The second time I was engaged and I wanted my engagement party there. We set it up by the couches with "Happy Engagement" sign, "she said yes" napkins, Ring straws and Ring balloons. We all talked, took photos, had mimosas and brunch. Everyone was attentive and just had an amazing time. about 20 people showed up. The third time we went to the pool with 3 kids. It was a bit pricy for 5 people with food and drinks. It also did take a little long like 30 minutes for drinks but it was fun and the pool was warm. They brought out a pretzel that was rock hard. When I told them they quickly brought me a new one that was soft.

The poolside vibe was a much needed break and everything I was hoping for. Laying out to tan, getting cocktails delivered to your lounge chair, and taking a dip in the pool was so lovely. That said, splurge in the operative word. At a $25 entry fee and $16 a mixed drink, the tab can add up quickly. Decided not to opt for food or snacks because of the prices. But I knew I was paying for the experience and was happy to go all in for drink and vibes. Excited to be back :)

The Good: * FKA "SC Bread Boy," they still sell sourdough boules. * Large covered outdoor dog-friendly seating * Cannoli was delicious, and they have so many flavors that there's something for everyone. *Burgers were omfg delicious. I don't like to use superlatives like "the best" loosely, but these might be the best smash burgers we've ever had. *Fries were also bomb af, and perfectly seasoned. *Fresh beers next door at Humble Sea Tavern The Meh: *A little pricey for a burger and fries, but jfc, it's delicious and worth every penny. *Limited menu and certain items are only available for dinner. Not to mention they're a very small kitchen, so they do sell out. *Not the best place if you're a vegan or vegetarian, as the options will be extremely limited. I personally don't care, but just throwing it out there jic. The Ugly: * We tried visiting here once before but got scared off by the signage in the parking lot that states something to the effect of "Parking for Wild Roots Market and the Cremer House." Well, we had no idea what the "Cremer House" was, so we got scared of getting towed and dipped out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Conclusion: Beer and burgers. 'Nuff said...

I also loved how their store was set up and they sold local arts and crafts from the community! I love the community aspect here in Santa Cruz County! Perhaps she misread the menu, but she thought "egg stacker" was a sandwich because it was under the "bagel sandwich "category. But under the description, it does not say there's any bread.
