We purchased a tub on 09/29/24, we were told 4-6 weeks for delivery and set up. As of today we still don't have anything. I spoke with Austin the times and got a different story reach time as to why we didn't have our product yet. I asked for the owner's contact info since I had asked for a refund and he said he doesn't make those decisions. He said that Kara, the owner, isn't customer facing. I asked him to have her call me asap. This was over a week ago and I still haven't heard anything. I called the main line and the woman I spoke with have me Kara's contact email. I'm waiting to hear back. The only reason I did not read reviews prior to purchasing from these folks is because my husband has used them for service calls on our old tub numerous times and was happy with them. Charged us nearly $500 to fix a leak and made the leak much worse. Full story, we had a service man come out for 5 min and tell us he didn't think he could repair the leak. Took a cell phone video to show his boss and said we would hear back in 1-2 about a plan. After multiple calls over 2 weeks, I finally got another appointment which they said they had a fix. Two service men came out and "fixed" the leak. Next day a foot of water was out of the tub. Called them back and they said they would come take a look. The service man said "he didn't think the repair would work" and confirmed it didn't. I had to wait for Christmas before I could call again to see what the plan was. The office told me they tried what they could and wouldn't be able to make the repair. I asked for a refund and was told it was a final service and not refundable. I could have "tried" this repair myself but attempted to contact a professional to take care of it. To just give up and say tough cookies is extremely unprofessional and the customer service throughout the process was unbearable. I would implore you all to go a different direction here as this review is 100% honest and I was nothing but pleasant through this whole ordeal. I now have to start over with another company that actually knows what they are doing. UPDATE - Mountain Mist agreed to refund $180.00 of the poor service through the BBB but never sent a refund. This has resulted in their BBB accreditation being suspended. Be very careful dealing with this company as now it's off to small claims court based on principal. The 5 star reviews here may be representative of PRE-purchases..... they made really nice promises when we were looking to drop the cash and as soon as we paid, all customer service went out the window... up to SIX MONTHS later when we are dealing with a mold issue because they did not supply us with the right chemicals originally. Pre-purchase, we were promised steps, booster seats, great customer service for our mineral system, etc. etc. Post-purchase, took weeks and weeks to get the steps and I needed to go pick them up when they said they would be delivered. We have never received booster seats. Had to go back because they did not deliver the mineral filters needed when the hot tub first arrived. Six months later, when our hot tub is filled with white mold, we realize they did not supply us with the right filter set-up after all! When my husband went to get this issue resolved, the STORE MANAGER did not want to help and ended up saying he didn't want our future business anyway.... Idk- ask if you want to know more, but all in all, there are tons of other spas that probably offer real customer service, even after you've given them your money. read more

Updated March 4th, 2025 Please don't buy a hot tub from this Business! It has been 5 months since we placed our order. I have contacted the business on numerous occasions and always get the same runaround. Recently recently the issue was supposedly the shipping company. I have tried to contact the owner four times via email and left several messages with the sales person, Austin, to have the owner, Kara Brown, contact me on this matter. Would give 0 stars if I could. Dishonest and unprofessional. Was told by MULTIPLE salesmen that the wait til once we ordered a hot tub was 4-6 weeks. We called at 6 weeks as we hadn't heard anything and the manager said "the guy who sold you your hot tub doesn't work here anymore, but he shouldn't have told you 4-6 weeks. We always tell customers it's 8 weeks." So I called back today and asked "if I was to order a hot tub, what's your wait time?" I spoke to the manager who said "4-6 weeks depending on the manufacturer but no longer than that" to which I replied "ok, so 6 weeks would be the maximum time it would take" and without hesitation he said "yes that would be worst case scenario". So I then said "well we've been waiting 7 weeks for ours and just last week you told me that you tell your salesmen to never say 4-6 weeks". Slimy, dishonest and offering absolutely no good will and STILL no promise of delivery. "It's because of the 4th of July"....pathetic. We would cancel our order if we could but we're stuck waiting for god knows how long now. Our friends ordered a hot tub less than 2 weeks ago from spa world and ready have theirs. Purchased NEW Hot Tub 10/30/24. Was told by Austin 4-6 weeks lead time. Was purchasing as a Christmas gift, so worst scenario, 6 weeks no problem. First call to Austin, I was told order will definitely here the week before Christmas. Next phone call was told first week in January. NOW being told Jan. 20th. Jan.20th in town, but not setting on my patio. I don't believe anything I am told now, and you shouldn't either. I will be trying to get my money back and buying someone else. read more

First thing read the numerous other one star reviews. They are spot on with my experience. Be wary of Austin the sales manager in particular (which is a red flag if a manger operates this way), the only really solid experience we've had at this place is when Austin was selling us on a hot tub...all down hill from there.... The "help" I just received to take care of my white mold issue likely from shipping or not being given the right chemicals recommended when we bought the tub is shocking to say the least. Unless something changes drastically I will never personally buy nor recommend someone I know buy anything from Mountain Mist. We were initially happy with the quality of the hot tub but customer service and warranty fullfillment is atrocious. We requested warranty repair of the outside skirt panel on September 24, 2023. We have been repeatedly assured "it is coming on the next truck". We have yet to see this happen, 4.5 months later despite repeated phone calls, emails, and proddings. No ETA. I have no evidence Mountain Mist wants to do anything besides move product, regardless of quality. I have no confidence in their commitment to their product and would not purchase from Mountain Mist again. We are hoping this can be resolved but may need to involve BBB. Buyer beware.... read more

Purchased a swim spa in June 2022. Paid for a swim tether at the same time. The swim tether was missing. I was told the tether is on back order. When I call to get an update I am told it gets here when it gets here and they will get right back a hold of me. I have never received a call back. We bought a reconditioned spa from Mountain Mist Spas last year. We did not know about the challenges of getting a spa permit in Boulder County. The spa was just filled for the first time and it leaks. Mountain Mist is not standing behind their work on the spa but telling us it must be our fault in some way. Time will tell if they act with integrity. They are making me pay for a service call upfront without even doing an inspection of the tub to determine whether the problem happened during their reconditioning or after we purchased the tub. It took us a year to get a permit for the spa and by the time we hooked it up, one of the manifolds had cracked and the spa leaked. Just Recently purchased our 2nd hot tub from Mountain Mist November 2020. It was great working with Austin. He was friendly, not pushy or high pressure, and did a great job of explaining the product. We shopped around and feel we purchased a quality product from Mountain Mist. Austin got us a great price on the unit and we look forward to many years of use. We have always had great service when we had a problem or a question. Their service department is top notch. I needed to work on my Hot Tub base and Austin helped us get the old hot tub taken away early so I had time to work on it before the new one arrived. Genuinely terrible experience. I needed a pair of diverters for a Marquis Spa - for which Mountain Mist is supposed to be a dealer. It took a while for them to procure a pair and I got no contact from them. When I made contact I was able to confirm that they were calling a wrong phone number. They gave me the wrong parts entirely and one got lodged in the spa. A tech had to come to drill it out. At that time I was told they would find the right part and contact me. Nobody did. After multiple attempts I was able to track them down. The guy on the phone was belligerent and claimed they'd left messages with me. I asked what number they were using (since they had the wrong number before). He said he could not tell me what number the messages were left at and claimed I was accusing him of lying. After a pretty full-blown tantrum, he decided he did not want to do business anymore and would return my money. I have called and emailed to no avail and after a week now, they still have not returned my money. I anticipate I will have to take action. Side note; with one ten-minute phone call to the Spa Brokers, they found the correct parts and mailed them right to my house -- charging me *half* what Mountain Mist did. read more

Buyers beware of this company. My roommate and I bought a spa for them on Black Friday . It is now January 28th. This hot tub was supposed to be there before Christmas . My roommate and I are disabled and we were lied to which is a breach of contract or contract is now void due to misrepresentation . We have asked for our money back over 10 times now and they are refusing to do so . Look at all negative reviews we are not the only ones that they've done this to and not the only ones they lied to . We ordered & paid for the hot tub cover on July 8, 2022 & at the time of the order, Mountain Mist Spas said it would be a few weeks until it would arrive. After a couple months had gone by, we started calling to check in on the status. Each time we call, we are told that an array of excuses as to why it hasn't shown up yet. First no one ordered it, then they ordered the wrong one. They have sent out different staff on multiple occasions and none of them can even agree what type of cover we need. That doesn't necessarily leave you feeling confident that they will get what you need. And I'm still not even confident that they have ever actually submitted the order but they continue to reassure us they will make sure it's on the next truck delivery. At this point, we have been told it will be on the next truck no less than 10 times & every time we call after the truck was supposed to arrive, we're told that the manufacturer just didn't put it on the truck & there is nothing they can do but try to get it on the next truck. While I understand that shipping delays can happen, Mountain Mist Spas has been open about the fact that they have always struggled with this manufacturer, that we are not the only customers struggling with this issue & yet, they still continue to sell this type of hot tub that requires this specific cover, even though they know that they cannot get the needed replacement covers that all hot tub owners will need to get over time. Here we sit with a hot tub that we cannot use due to the old cover being in such bad shape and $836 paid to Mountain Mist for a new hot tub cover that we are still trying to chase down 9 months later. This is unacceptable & an extremely dishonest way to do business. read more

While everyone has been very nice, the hot tub that took 4 months to get delivered was leaking as soon as I turned it on. Not a small leak, water shooting like a fire hose. I was told to go to Jax and get a water trough heater so it wouldn't freeze overnight. There's $50 blown. Then they came out and fixed it. Then it was still leaking, so they sent someone else to fix it. Then it was still leaking. Today, someone came out and fixed it and checked the other fittings. THEN HE SAID FITTINGS ARE NOT COVERED SO WE HAVE TO HAVE SOME ONE DO FITTING CHECKS EVERY SIX MONTHS B/C THE VIBRATIONS CAUSE THE FITTINGS TO LOOSEN. I was very disappointed in my interactions with Mountain Mist Pool and Spa. I have not been to the store but used them to try and address an issue with my tub. The former owners of my hot tub used them in the past so when we had a problem (our hot tub was not heating), I called them - a huge waste of time and money as it turns out. My initial phone call to set up the appointment went fine and they were able to fit us in within the week. I could not be home for the tech (also a mistake I think) so I gave them my card number with my understanding from the gentleman I talked to on the phone that they would let us know when they were coming and also call us promptly after assessing the issue- neither call which happened. I had to follow up at the end of the day when I hadn't heard (our appointment was at 10 am, the first of that day I had been told so as to maybe be able to fix the issue if we approved repairs). When I called, they told me they had been overbooked and I could not talk to the tech right then (did they even come I wondered?). The tech (Erick if my invoice is correct) called me the next day and could not have been more condescending on the phone. He (or whomever I talked to) treated me like stereotypical male mechanics treat women- like I wouldn't understand what he meant and like every question was a dumb one (hello, I just want to know what's wrong with my hot tub and don't think asking about what you found in detail is dumb!). He told me that we needed to replace the motherboard- parts and labor would be $1000! Needless to say, we got a second opinion from Spa Brokers, who incidentally I cannot recommend enough. They answered all my questions patiently and knowledgable and fixed our issue for $66 in materials. Our hot tub works and it had nothing to do with the heater relay or the pc board, which is what Mountain Mist claimed. What a waste of my time and $115 bucks! Not only was Mountain Mist off in their diagnosis, but they were rude to me on the phone. They didn't charge my card for two months and left me wondering. I am a real customer Tyler, in fact I just left a message for you at the Longmont store. Fortunately I happen to check my spam and saw the email you sent two days ago in response to my Yelp post. My name may not be in your system because maybe the spa purchase was made using my wife's name? I like how you start off by suggesting that maybe the review is bogus because you can't find my name, nice touch. We've purchased two spas from Mountain Mist. One was from the Longmont store (which is the store my review was based on) and the latest from the Mountain Mist store in Ft. Collins. Because the Longmont store is closer, we purchase our chemicals from that store. Your response wants specifics, here you go: (1) When you walk into your store (and even if you're the only one in there) the person sitting behind the desk doesn't even acknowledge you walked in. (2) When you walk up to make your purchase and place the chemicals on the counter for example, he sits there looking at his computer for a bit before looking your way. (3) There's never a "hello" or "is that all for you today", all he does is grab your chemicals, ask for your name so he can find you in the computer and then he rings it up and tells you how much the total is. Once you've paid he sits back down and stares at the computer, no "thank you", no nothing. Keep in mind this is has happened each and every time I've purchase spa chemicals. I get that everybody is entitled to a bad day once in awhile. However, after it has happened over and over, it's business as usual. read more

They have done special favors for me as well, for example they open later on Sunday, and I dropped off a water sample by their back door and they tested it and sent me the results in my email! Rudeness. Another dissatisfied customer. Tyler needs some help with customer service skills. Sounds like my review is similar to the other reviews about Mountain Mist Spas. I had a problem with this hot tub, which I purchased from them several years ago. As a background, when I ordered the original tub, they accidentally ordered the wrong one and had to give me a credit back for a portion of the price because of their error. Looks like the errors didn't stop then. I should have seen it coming. They sent out a very kind technician. who replaced the heater. He was helpful, patient and kind. Tyler, on the other hand, needs some help. Shortly after the visit, a weird noise started up from the pump, so I called again and they came out and removed something from the pump. Then the heater they installed leaked. They said,"we know what this is. Replacing the sensors will definitely take care of it." Then, after paying for that, the pump completely stopped working. I called AGAIN - and they said they came out. I checked that day - still not working. Called back again and was told I would get a call back that day. No call. Then called AGAIN they next day and got a call later on from Tyler. As the previous reviews mention - Tyler is rude and doesn't listen. He was argumentative. He was self-righteous. He denied that I bought the tub from them (which I did). He refused to come out to fix the problem. I would steer clear of Mountain Mist Spas. There are a lot of other options. But as Tyler said, "I've been in this business for 30 yeas, and I'll be here for 30 more." Wow. I have my doubts. read more

I purchased a Paradise Bay II Spa costing for $14,000 on October of 2000. We have experienced a leak that required draining, warped exterior panels and a spray nozzle failure. The panels have been not taken care of and the claim was made over 6 months ago. Every time that I enquire about claim status they do not have any response other than no news at this time. Austin is a nice guy, but the response to these issues is unacceptable. The manufacturer is not reliable and obviously do not take ownership of the goods. Warrantee means nothing if it it is not resolved in a timely manor. I will be forced to seek legal action if it is not resolved. I have given them to November. read more

Better than any of the other places I've been to hands down. The salesman who helped me sold me a quality wind strap at a fair price and even showed me a money saving tip with my filter I feel like most places would encourage more waste and money spending for their own gain but I feel like this place is on the more fair to the consumer end of things. read more

This store is convenient if you need to purchase chemicals for your spa. I would love to purchase a new spa from them but the gentleman in the store is super unhelpful and unfriendly. If you go in the store, the person behind the counter will never acknowledge you, he will not proactively help and will be very condescending If you persist and ask for help. He will make you feel extremely uncomfortable. And he is even more unfriendly on the phone. If you are lucky enough to get Chris, the service guy, working in the store, he will provide helpful and friendly advice but he is rarely in the store. We even tried to get them to fix our spa as well but that didn't work out. This store would rock if they were just friendly and helpful. read more

We purchased a used hot tub with a warranty from Mountain Mist Spas on 8/14/2016 which was delivered on 8/31/16. We were told that the hot tub was a year old, thoroughly checked, and the reason it was for sale was that the gentleman who purchased it had moved and did not have room for it. After we purchased it we discovered it was 2 years old, had to have the circuit board replaced and was given another story on why it was for sale. On 9/3/2016 we had the electrician, who was referred to us by Mountain Mist Spas, run the electrical connections and connect the hot tub. When he connected the hot tub, it did not power on. He checked the fuses and discovered it had a blown fuse. The electrician called Mountain Mist and told them of the problem. Mountain Mist sent someone out that day to replace the fuse. While replacing the fuse the technician noticed many other issues and spent an hour and a half reconnecting all the hoses and power connections. A few days later, the hot tub was leaking from the front panel. We called Mountain Mist Spas and spoke to Chris, the service manager. Chris scheduled time to come the next day look at and fix the leak. Chris's visit in checking the leak lead to the replacement of a pump inside the hot tub. Once he replaced the pump he went to power it on and it would not power on as it had once again blown a fuse. He then replaced the fuse. About a week later, the hot tub again would not power on. We called Mountain Mist Spas and spoke to Chris and told him the hot tub would not power on. Chris came out once again and replaced the fuses, but this time he said that after this trip they would have to charge us. His reason stated was that the electric was being caused by electrical surge/spike problems and not the hot tub. (the hot tub was delivered with a blown fuse to begin with). The next day we called and spoke to Chris and Tyler who said he had called the Town of Lyons and the town told him that there were surges in the area. We called the town to verify and they said that was a false statement that Tyler made and that was not the case and there had not been surges in the area in a very long time. The Town of Lyons offered to come to our house to make sure we were being delivered the correct amount of electric from the town. The Town of Lyons came out immediately and ran the tests to see if we were having any sort of spikes coming in from the outside. The tests results were perfect and there were no spikes or surges. To be certain they came out a second time to test, and again there were no surges or spikes. We spoke to Cal, the electrician recommended to us by Mountain Mist, who said it was clearly a problem with the hot tub. If the problem was due to electrical surges, we would see problems with other electrical equipment and not just the hot tub. The hot tub stopped working due to a blown fuse several times after this but since Mountain Mist refused to fix the fuse without charging us $120 trip charge plus time and materials we replaced the fuses ourselves. Last weekend 1/8/2017 we were in the hot tub, the temperature kept dropping, yet all the jets were working fine. The temperature dropped down to 96 so we exited the hot tub. The next morning, we checked the hot tub to make sure that it went back up to the normal 102 with the lid on. What we discovered was that the hot tub tripped the GFI and was completely off. We tried resetting the breaker but it immediately tripped the GFI breaker. We then called Cal the electrician and he said that we would need to run a test to make sure nothing was wrong with the electric itself. With the Cal on the phone we ran the necessary tests. After running the necessary tests, it was confirmed that it was not the electric but the hot tub itself. We called Tyler at Mountain Mist and he said he would speak with Cal and Chris and he promised to give us a call back today, 1/11/17. Tyler did not call back. When we called him he said he would not fix the hot tub and that we were on our own. We purchased the hot tub 4 months ago for $5,000 and paid another $1,000 for the electric connections. We are left with a hot tub that does not power on and a company refusing to fix it. At this point, I have contacted Mountain Mist several times and they have refused to acknowledge the issues from the beginning, blaming everything but a defunct hot tub from day 1. They are now to refusing to do anything about it, and I do not wish to have them fix it and do not trust Tyler and Mountain Mist Spas. All I have asked for them to do from the beginning, is to just fix the hot tub that we purchased from them and to just make it right. They have refused, and I just cannot believe that any company would do business like this. I just want a refund at this point as I am sitting on a $5000 hot tub that does not work anymore. read more

Tyler at Mountain Mist Pool & Spas was great to work with. He was accommodating to my requests and shared plenty of information on the spa we purchased. He also reviewed pictures of where our spa was going to be place and gave recommendations on how to best setup the area prior to the delivery. The delivery team was on time and walked me through how they were going to move and lift the hot tub into the enclosed space at my house. I am shocked. The Mountain Mist in the FORT COLLINS is officially #1 on my list of the worst service I have experience in my life. They put a "compatible" PC board in my hot tub which failed multiple times upon the instal. Somehow they made it work but now I have another failing board. Because I am past the warrantee they feel that they are not responsible at all. On top of putting the wrong part in they didn't replace all the burnt wires from the previous fails. Balboa Systems themselves even told me that board wasn't compatible with my system and the burnt wires should have been replaced. To make things even better the service manager got into an childish argument with me asking me if I was now a certified tech because I was telling him it was the wrong part. In the end he simply hung up on me. They are Completely disgusting and I hope this gets read by future customers so they don't have to deal with such a poorly run company. This is in no way an attach on Mountain Mist Longmont. They have been nothing but kind and reliable. read more

We purchased a hot tub a few months ago and they had wonderful customer service! They answered all our questions and went above and beyond explaining things and did not pressure us into anything! They delivered and set up and spent lots of time explaining how to maintain. We continue to buy all our chemicals here and are ALWAYS treated very professionally and warm! Having been a business owner in Boulder County for over twenty years, it has been my experience that to be successful you need to be grateful for your customers; this is why it is appalling to me that Mountain Mist Spas has conducted its business in such a disappointing manner. I bought my hot tub from them 10/30/2015 and finally got it delivered beyond their expected delivery date, this was the subsequent trend during my experience with Mountain Mist Spas. I had a problem with a leak from under the tub right from the delivery date forward. Mountain Mist Spas sent out a representative to inspect the spa who said the pump needed to be replaced. The pump was replaced and I was told the tub was "Good to go" It wasn't, I had moved the tub to a concrete pad using a subcontracted crane service by Mountain Mist Spas, at my expense, where the tub still showed leaking. I called Mountain Mist Spas again to repair the leaking tub and they sent out another representative who confirmed the tub was leaking but could not determine where the leak was coming from. This was December 2016, Mountain Mist Spas said they were very busy and could I wait until after the holidays. I agreed to accommodate them as a sympathetic business owner. January 30, 2017 I called Mountain Mist Spas again to see when they would take another look at things, they said yes and would be sending someone out to see whether their technicians could get the tub past my yard gate, they then told me I would have to cut back my trees and foliage, again at my expense, for their technicians to get the tub out of my yard. I told them I was not going to deform my trees or pay any additional expenses for them to repair my NEW $7500 product. At this point Mountain Mist Spas told me that they wanted me to pay for another crane to take the tub out over my house. I asked Mountain Mist Spas if there was a way to fix the tub on site to avoid all this seemingly unnecessary expense, Mountain Mist Spas said I would have to sign a waiver and that there would be no guarantees, again, this on a NEW $7500 product and again I would not agree to their request. Mountain Mist Spas told me that they would have to crane the tub out of my yard so they could take the tub back to their shop for repairs and then crane the tub back into my yard when finished all at my expense. I would assume the expense of contracting another crane to have the tub removed. At this point I told Mountain Mist Spas that I would pay for the crane to remove the tub from my yard and was no longer interested in their defective product and requested a full refund less the already accrued expenses and the final bill for the crane to remove this tub. It was at this point that the representative at Mountain Mist Spas told me that he would no longer discuss this with me and would inform the other staff to do the same. I asked (Chris) the Longmont store representative to have the owner of the company contact me regarding this issue, which he didn't. I called the Longmont Mountain Mist Spas store for the owners phone number so I could contact him directly, Chris told me "I should have my legal team contact their legal team, I asked Chris to have their legal team contact me directly, Chris hung up on me. At this point I have no recourse and a $7500 tub that leaks. I encourage all dissatisfied Mountain Mist Spas customers to post more reviews on all social media venues, BBB, and the following web sites. It seems all of the reviews here are negative...I'm suprised. I bought a spa from Mountain Mist in Longmont and got only good service. The guy that installed it spent a lot of time explaining every detail about the spa and also about the chemicals and how to keep the spa clean, balanced and running right. I buy all of my chemicals there and call them whenever I have an issue. About a month ago I called because my spa didn't seem to be running right. I described the issue to the guy on the phone and he immediately diagnosed the problem and told me how to fix it.....actually, there was nothing wrong, the jets were just turned down and all I had to do was turn them to full and everything was fine. This morning I called inquiring about a cover lifter and the gentleman on the phone was so patient with me, he asked me to send him picutres of my spa and cover and after reviewing them called me back and explained what I needed. He was kind, helpful, professional and knew what he was talking about. There was no high pressure sales pitch and when I told him that I wanted to think about for a while, he told me that it was a good idea. Incompetent service department. Cost me $900 to find out they could not diagnose a problem. Then they wanted me to spend more to pull out the spa and "work" on it.. They were quick to offer to sell me a new sap... Stay away from these guys. read more

Great hot tub store with excellent customer service. Shopped around in Boulder and couldn't find what we wanted, so went up to Fort Collins and bought a Hot Springs hot tub from Mt Mist about 2 years. They gave us end of the year clearance pricing plus gave us a discount for a floor model, but then gave us a new tub anyway. Delivered to Boulder even though they are based out of Fort Collins. A few weeks ago our hot tub broke. We called the local shop in Boulder that carries Hot Springs, since our tub was still under warranty. Originally they said they could come the next day, but then called back to say they wouldn't be able to come out for at least 2 weeks and suggested we contact the place where we bought the tub (even though legally they should have serviced our tub even if we didn't buy it from them, they made it very clear they weren't going to do that for us), so we called Mt Mist in Fort Collins, and they sent a repair guy down the very next day (at no charge to us). Turned out it was a bad breaker, so not something covered by warranty, but we are very glad we purchased the spa from them in case it ever does break, I know I can depend on them to help us out right away.
