My dentist recommended Dr. Vilardi very highly. I have a long history of dental problems and…read moreprocedures so I try to see the most skillful dental professionals I can find. I needed a gum tissue graft, which I'd had done once before by someone else, and I was dreading it because it was the most uncomfortable dental procedure I'd ever had, and the discomfort lasted for months. When Dr. Vilardi did it, it didn't bother me for one second during or after, I was amazed. His hygienist had my husband on a multistep teeth cleaning routine and I decided to adopt it. The next time my own dentist's hygienist saw my teeth she said she'd rarely seen such an improvement in a patient. (I don't know why every dentist doesn't recommend this routine.) I've had a couple of complicated implants done by Dr. Vilardi and, though I can't compare them to anyone else's work, I've had no problems with them. He won't do it if he doesn't think it's going to work well - I went once hoping to get started on a new implant and he told me the bone wouldn't support it even with bone growth stimulants. (He has a lot of tricks up his sleeve.) I find him to be very direct, so maybe that's why another reviewer interpreted it as lacking compassion. I don't see it that way though. There's no insult in it, he just tells it like it is. I actually appreciate that because I know I'm getting the straight story, positive or negative.

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my experience at Great Expressions on June 20,…read more2026. In February 2026, I scheduled a dental appointment for June 20, 2026, at 8:00 AM. I arrived on time for my appointment only to be informed by the receptionist that my appointment had been canceled due to a lack of confirmation. I explained that I had never received a phone call, text message, or any other communication requesting confirmation. Upon reviewing my information, the staff discovered that my chart contained two outdated phone numbers. When I originally scheduled my appointment, along with appointments for my children, I provided my current phone number and address. It became apparent that the office updated my children's information but failed to update my own information, resulting in the office attempting to contact me using incorrect phone numbers. Rather than acknowledging the office's error and attempting to accommodate me, another employee, who appeared to be a manager, made the comment, "We're the only office that accepts Medicaid." This statement was completely irrelevant to the situation and highly inappropriate. I responded by asking why she was telling me that, as I do not have Medicaid. The comment felt derogatory, dismissive, and unprofessional. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of empathy and customer service. Despite the cancellation resulting from the office's failure to maintain accurate patient records, staff refused to place me back on the schedule that day. Instead, they offered me an appointment during the week. I explained that I have relied on Saturday appointments for years due to my schedule and that this was one of the reasons I have remained a patient with Great Expressions. I was then informed that Saturday appointments are no longer offered. The entire interaction left me feeling disrespected, dismissed, and undervalued as a patient. I took time out of my day to attend an appointment that I had scheduled months in advance, only to be turned away because of an error made by the office. The staff's response and the manager's inappropriate comment only made the situation worse. I am requesting that this incident be reviewed and that appropriate action be taken to address the lack of professionalism, poor communication, inaccurate recordkeeping, and unacceptable customer service I experienced.

But, I had to start the search for someone new- which isn't easy after decades of loyalty Alas, I recently had an initial consultation with Dr. Nora, and it was more like a thoughtful Q&A than a rushed check-up. She's sharp, attentive, and clearly knows her stuff. I felt reassured by her knowledge and up-to-date expertise in dentistry. Pine Street Dental is located inside a multi-use medical building in Kingston, NY. The moment you walk in, you notice the spotless environment and that same level of cleanliness, carries right into the dental office itself. It's a well-kept, professional space that instantly puts you at ease. Dr. Nora's gentle touch and calm demeanor immediately put me at ease in the chair. She consistently checked in with yes/no questions, allowing me to respond non-verbally with a simple hand gesture while treatment was in progress. Plus, she made sure I felt heard, even when I couldn't speak. That kind of bedside manner, really sets her apart. Dr. Nora's care was so thorough and comforting that I left feeling genuinely grateful and surprisingly at ease about future visits. It's rare to say this about a dental appointment, but I'm actually looking forward to going back. Her professionalism, gentle approach, and clear communication made all the difference.
