It was our first time trying this place! We were greeted immediately by the owner. He explained how to order and asked if we had any questions. The environment was calm and welcoming. We ordered a half dozen of donuts and they were delicious! We also tried an apple fritter and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! The only disappointment was ordering one and not more. Let me get the easy part out of the way. These donuts are really, really good and I doubt you'll find one better in the area. I had heard the donuts were great so I went to grab a few dozen for a work meeting. Maybe I'm just not fancy enough to order these types of donuts but I was expecting it to be as easy as "I need 3 dozen mixed donuts please." Hand over the corporate card, received said boxes, leave. It wasn't that easy. There were many, many questions about what kind of donuts I wanted, toppings, flavors, etc. Then they had to actually glaze and box them. Lots of time. I get it. These are fancy. The ordering process was really painful when all I wanted to do was buy donuts and get to my meeting. Maybe this just isn't the kind of basic ordering they are used to either? There were several different ordering and menu boards which added to the confusion. Maybe I'm too simple. LOL Will I go again? Definitely. 100% going to continue buying here and enjoying these awesome donuts. I'll probably just do 1-2 at a time and leave the bulk, meeting style donut orders to the other folks that seem more geared toward that. read more

They do one donut type and they do it well. You start with the vanilla cake donut then you add the frosting you want, drizzle of your choice, and top it off with a topping. My daughter did the peanut butter frosting, no drizzle, and Reece's cups on top. She loved hers. I got a blueberry icing donut with blueberry drizzle. It was good but I wasn't getting much blueberry flavor. I also got a raspberry icing donut with raspberry drizzle. It was really good and I'd get that one again. To each their own best describes this review. I'm more of a fan of raised donuts and not cake. The base of all donuts is a nice vanilla cake. Then you take that base and pile on the glaze and toppings. It's great for kids both young and old that like to have lots of toppings for eye popping desserts. We loved their cake donuts! My husband is a cake donut lover and I happened upon this place when I was in search of donuts to buy him that were cake. There's drive thru or order inside. Since it was my first time, I went inside to order 1/2 dozen. There's a form to fill out to decide on toppings you'd like for each donut. So, my first job was at a call center and one of the companies that we had will offer that to their angry customers if the service they received was unsatisfactory. So we went to Mountain Donuts in Ogden which I love but they are not the cheapest donuts, a dozen come out to be something like 28 dollars with taxes. It was packed so we had to wait for our donuts, once we were helped and paid, we received our dozen donuts and the guys said " you know the donuts came out to be a little smaller than usual so to make up for it we put some extras" and we were ok that is ok we understand. When we opened the box they gave us 2 extra donuts which didn't cover the box they usually give you it was not even 3 quarters full and the donuts looked like the mini donuts you get in the gas station. I told my husband nope we have to go back, when I go in the place is full and yes, I was the only brown in there. So I go and let them know the donuts are too small and instead of apologizing she said" that is why I gave you 2 extra ones" and looked offended to what I said yes but Is not worth what I a paying you to what a guy said "that is why I told you to tell them since they order that they are coming too small, just give her a refund". Yo to this moment I was ok it's ok their machine is not working properly I'll just take my money and leave. But oohhhhh dear when she was about to void my transaction I hear the white goodies they gave to other customers, the lady told the customer I am so sorry but our donuts are coming really small so we will double your order at no extra charge; and there it was the white goodies. I got my transaction voided, never got a I a sorry for the inconvenience let me make it up to you, so I let her know, " you know I came in let you know what happened and you only solutions was : that is why I have you 2 extra ones and to the people here you doubled their order for free, that is really bad business call" and left. At mountain donuts you can choose your icing, toppings and drizzle, or you can order from their unique menu. Since this was our first time, we got an assorted dozen that gave us a chance to try a variety of flavors. After sampling many of the assortment, my favorite was the blueberry icing. Comparing to other donut shops, the overall taste was typical. All donuts were on a white cake donut, which were good but not mind blowing. I really really wanted to love this place but.... 1. They only have cake donuts. So if you don't like cake donuts--too bad. 2. They are on the small side. 3. The ordering process is way too complicated. There is such a thing as having *too many choices*. One side of the menu is ready-made specialty combinations--dozens of them. The other side is all the options you have to choose from to customize yourself--dozens of them. 4. It takes way too long (see #3). 5. They *do* have some ready made, but because they have so many odd combos--not really the sort of thing you can just grab and go. You don't really know what some of those flavors are just by colors, for example. And there were not really that many ready-made to choose from (maybe a dozen or so?) 6. If you can get one warm and fresh--why would you choose ready-made and room temp? Were the donuts I had delicious? Yes they were. But I could have had delicious donuts from somewhere else without nearly as much hassle. And more variety of the actual donut itself, not just cake. I think Ogden needs more donut shops (especially north of 20th Street--PLEASE)--But a donut shop should be a place you can just get familiar but delicious donuts and be on your way. This is not that place. I was the only one in the place on a weekday morning and I had to sit and wait a solid 10 minutes for my half-dozen, after taking another 5-10 minutes just to figure out what I wanted to order. I think this shop is far more suited to a dessert stop after dinner than a place to go in the morning on your way to school or work, etc. Not a place you can just run in and say "I'll have two glazed," pay and go. I do not like gimmicky donut shops. I've been to probably a dozen nouveau donut establishments in multiple states and every single one has utterly failed to deliver on taste. I can honestly say Krispy Kreme is better than all the $3-6 fancy donut places I've been to up to the live infused flavored liqueur experience places with great reviews. Having said that I would say this is the hands down winner for donuts across the Wasatch Front. Yes the aesthetics, the type of options, the ordering process is gimmicky as all get out but the flavors of the donuts really back it up. Even the multi-flavored donuts are not killed with too much sweetness so all are edible and good in their own right. I can't pinpoint what they do to the dough to get the balanced but unique flavor but it's uniquely good. Must be msg or something... It takes a while to order since above and beyond the traditional styles and the special and signature styles, you can customize your own donut to your liking so it can be a struggle to figure out exactly what you want. On the other hand you can get exactly what you want as far as toppings go. But I'll mainly stick to the plain glazed due to the goodness of the dough flavor. They also have seasonal designs that kids love and with the more than reasonable prices I wish they could open up a shop in the SL valley if they could keep up the quality of this shop even if they had to narrow it down to just serving plain glazed. read more

My spouse found this new donut shop and we discovered it's a neat little shop with three tables and a small table for children. This is cute! There's a giant inner tube that is a donut with sprinkles for the kids to bouncy on! Cute! As soon as we walked in we were greeted and shown how to order our fresh donut decorated our way. There's three steps to making your own and on the back are shop favorites you can choose from. It's a little pricey but don't let that discourage you. At $2 a donut it is worth the price. The gal helping us saw me posting to yelp and gave me a card for a free donut for my next visit! She seemed genuinely happy of my posting this shop on yelp and I was pleased she noticed. We stopped in here on our way to visit grandparents because they had requested we grab donuts on the way. Unfortunately they had requested both maple bars and glazed raised donuts and this place only serves cake donuts. We left, but an employee followed us out and gave us a free cinnamon sugar cake donut.
