James's Gourmet Pies is my go-to every holiday! Wow! Just…read moreWOW. These pies are THE BEST!!! I'm really passionate about my holiday desserts, and I'm so happy to have found James's Gourmet Pies. James is also an absolutely fabulous human being who puts love into every single dessert he crafts. For me it's like a touch of the happiest part of my childhood, complete southern comfort food. The sweet potato pie is out of this world, and the pumpkin is always perfection. I don't know how he gets the pie crust so perfectly buttery and flaky, but that's the best part for me. I highly recommend the banana cream & the buttermilk too!!! The mini pies are just as amazing as the full size. James provides amazing pies, amazing service, and such excitement to the season. This year I'm ordering early. One year we braved to the mall to pick up because I had forgotten to order ahead. Thankfully, it wasn't a problem. Ridiculously satisfying food. Plus NOT sweating over pies for days makes for a very easy joyful holiday season. Pleased to support this veteran owned business.

You are greeted with walls of pink flowers and tons of spots to take cute Instagram worthy pictures! The service was good. We went on a Monday afternoon and it wasn't busy. There is a sign stating they are short staffed and I only saw one sweet lady running the whole show. We didn't have to wait very long for food because she was surprisingly quick! Very friendly too. The food was very good! Good size, great flavor and beautiful presentation. They had so much to choose from on the menu that all sounded amazing. My only complaint is for a crepe, it's pricey. Almost $20 for a crepe is why I knocked a star off. Other than that, I'd recommend this place for a nice brunch spot with the girls!

When we entered the building we were immediately drawn in by all the flowers and the bright space. Every wall was covered in flowers, neon lights, and gorgeous lighting. It is adorable!! The woman who took our order was super sweet and our food came out quickly. I've seen their "over the top" shakes on Instagram for years so that was a MUST. We also ordered a panini and several crepes. Everything was delicious, super "Grammable," and beautiful. I may need to make a special trip back to Ogden just to come here!!

It's a small little place that shares an entrance with a restaurant. They do have a handful of tables available to eat in, or they do take out as well. They have Hispanic music videos playing on a tv and the music coming through the speakers. The people working there were so kind and helpful. They helped us completely customize our desserts, and made us white girls feel completely welcome and not out of place at all. It was a fun, bright, inviting place! They have a wide variety of sweet and savory snacks, that all look addictively delicious. We were specifically looking for dessert and were tempted by SO many tasty options. We all decided on a variation of an ice cream filled concha. Is this a common Hispanic thing? I have never seen it before, not even on my trips to Mexico, but it is GENIUS!!! Concha's, if you don't know, are kind of like a Mexican donut/pastry. It's essentially a non sweet roll with chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla icing in the design of a shell on top. It's a perfect balance of sweet and savory. So imagine that tasty roll filled with ice cream, Nutella, and fruit! Mind blown right?! The concha had chocolate icing, I chose marzipan ice cream (it's not a Scandinavian almond marzipan, but a Hispanic peanut marzipan that's similar to a candy), Nutella, and strawberries on top. The portions were huge and with tax it only cost $7. Listen, I live in Draper and would GLADLY travel to Ogden to get this again! And as much as I'm obsessed with the ice cream concha, I also REALLY want to try some of the savory snacks too! So maybe I'll do a savory snack followed by a sweet snack next time. Anyway, it's a little hole in the wall that is COMPLETELY worth trying!!!! You need ice cream concha's in your life, trust me!

But as it turned out, I should have just went with an old fashioned cone. The brioche did not pair great with the ice cream, and all it did was result in less actual ice cream, which was the best part. So get a salted caramel cone and write a 5-star review.
