My husband and I just grabbed dinner at a food truck when we turned around and saw a cute pink food truck with black polka dots. It was a dessert truck with cupcakes and cookies, so we stopped by to grab something sweet after dinner. We were greeted by a nice lady and two sweet kids. There was a sign next to the food truck that listed all of their cupcakes, but if you walk up to the window, they have the actual cupcakes on display. Seeing the cupcakes made me want all of them :-) I ended up buying two maple and blueberry cupcakes and one pumpkin spice cupcake. I was over the moon with the cupcakes! They weren't too sweet and they were super flavorful! I will 100% find this food truck again! read more

I seriously LOVE HeidiCakes and I definitely consider myself a connoisseur of desserts. I usually catch them at Food Truck Thursday's downtown but I wish they were around more and I could go more often! The cupcakes are of course delicious, gourmet cupcakes. Awesome cake, awesome THICK frosting. Delicious. Anything with chocolate is a go to for me, but their vanilla is amazing too. My favorite thing from HeidiCakes is actually not the cupcakes though ... I wish I would've gotten a picture but they were all so good I couldn't stop eating them. We got the cookie dough, cookie cupcake, cannoli, and carrot cake. My absolute favorite is the carrot cake, the frosting was the best cream cheese frosting I've had. None of the cupcakes were grainy, and they were melt in your mouth moist. Tasty cakes at last! Color me impressed. These are cupcakes done right, totally worth tracking down their mobile truck for a taste. I'm a baker and have to admit that the cupcake craze has left me cold as most cupcakes don't meet my high standards. Heidicakes is a delightful exception. Their cupcakes are moist and flavorful, and their frostings are delicious. I like that they often have a filled cupcake on the menu. I've been able to find them sometimes at the Gallivan Center on Food Truck Thursdays. I do wish they'd update their location on Facebook a bit more often, but it's just as well for my waistline that I rarely know where they are going to be. read more

I read the reviews months ago and was hopeful that these cupcakes would be able to replace the cupcakes in my old town. I was very disappointed. I always try something multiple times before I make a judgement because everyone has bad days. But these just aren't good. Each time I've tried one it has been dense, dry, and flavorless. Though the decorations are done well, the frosting tastes like straight Crisco. At $3 a pop you would think a little more quality would come out of the oven. I'll just have to get my husband to make stops at the Cocoa Bean on his way back from Provo from now on. read more
