They are very short staffed. Appointments are running very late. They do not update records appropriately and have to call constantly to fix. Some staff have offal communication skills. Also double booking appointments is not good care. read more

Providers are nice, but it's often impossible to reach the office no matter what time of day you call. Always on hold. They can never help with any basic questions about copays, and their billing department is impossible to reach too. They tend to transfer phone calls to each other between the office, their call center, and the billing department saying that they're transferring me to someone that can help but none of them can. read more

The 5 stars are for the doctors and nurses, they are caring and compassionate; not so much for the office manager, Andrea R., she lacks professionalism all around. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I scheduled an appointment, rushed to get there and they canceled it for no reason. They didn't even tell me they canceled. I work 50-70 hours a week. I don't have time to drive somewhere and not be seen. This isn't the first time they've been unprofessional in the 16 years I've gone to their practice. In 2016 one of the nurses called my mom an angry Black woman and kicked her out of the practice. That should have been the last straw for me. Instead I moved from the Alexandria location to the Lorton one. They are equally as bad. Find a better practice because this one is terrible. read more

I have been very pleased with my services from the Springfield office of Mt. Vernon Internsl Medicine. I have been able to connect with them by phone or portal and scheduling appointments has been easy. i have had no problem with billing. My physician is Dr. Murow and he has been terrific! I would recommend them highly to those considering using the practice. read more

The best dr's office i come to. Dr. marlin is great, tells you like it is and you have to respect that. Im only speaking for the Alexandria office. I don't know what its like at the other 2 offices. There are always on time, and have appts sometimes on the same day which is great. The staff is professional with the phones and the pre-authorization tech is good to. They do follow up with your questions with in a great turnaround time. read more

Review for Mount Vernon Internal Medicine in Springfield VA. I started going here on a recommendation of another doctor to see Dr. Mark Sullivan. All I wanted was labs for a routine prescription refill. The process to get seen was overly complicated but I powered through. Dr Sullivan was great and I had a low pressure visit. Fast forward to today a year later. The online appointment system does not work and they do not answer the phones but make you get a call back. Made an appointment for my annual labs. I received a confirmation email. The next day I received another email to reconfirm my appt time. I put the day/time on 2 calendars. The day before my appt I got another email to confirm my Covid status. When I went to the office I was informed that I did not have an appointment at that time. I was told that someone had called and changed my appt. Not me! I have the confirmation emails to prove it. Then I was informed that Dr Sullivan no longer worked there. The receptionist was rude and stopped talking to me so I left. Do not go here. read more

This office has a manager that is woefully ill educated about the Americans with Disabilities Act. I have a 3 lb service dog I carry on my person. We've been working together for six years and in that time he's gone with me everywhere from art museums to hospitals. He alerts me by popping up out of the bag I carry him in and give a few quick barks. Apparently, this is unacceptable to the manager of this office. On my first visit they tried to deny me access because I didn't have 'proper' paperwork 'proving' he's a service dog of which there is no such thing. I informed them there is no such paperwork and most people that pay the few bucks online to get something printed out are scamming. In the end they didn't allow me in because it was my husband's doctor's appointment even though I advocate for him. Fine, I waited in the car. A week later I had my own appointment, no problems and my dog alerted me when the nurse hovered over me and got to close, one of the things he's trained to alert to to keep me from being bumped into and knocked down. Nurse laughed it off, he's a very tiny dog with a very serious sounding bark. Fast forward a week to my follow up appointment. The front desk clerk came outside to check my temp and nearly bumped into me, my dog again popped up and alerted like he's supposed to do. She was not amused, left me standing in the hallway outside for 10 mins while she disappeared back into the office only to return to tell me I wasn't being allowed in with 'the dog'. I informed her he was a service dog, she said he was aggressive and out of control and untrained. I explained his alert behavior without discussing my medical issues because, you know, standing in a hallway and she isn't a medical professional and it's none of her concern. She said the manager was refusing me entry. I tried to explain that by law they had to let me in. They didn't care. This is a shame because I like the NP we'd seen and would have been happy to continue to see her. I'll be filing a complaint with the Justice Department over this but there is no excuse for a medical facility to be so totally uninformed about the ADA and service dog access. My dog was not running around, not barking beyond the alerts, not disruptive and not aggressive. He doesn't even have teeth for goodness sake. This is unacceptable. No apology was offered at the time or later on. I doubt they'll educate themselves about this so please, anyone with a disability or a loved one with one avoid this office at all costs. The office staff are rude and don't care. They're ignorant about federal policies and seem unwilling to learn. The manager didn't even have the courage to deny me access to medical care in person so I don't know if this is a Springfield office manager or one for the whole series of offices but patient beware. This level of thoughtless ignorance is unacceptable and unforgivable. read more

I called MVIM to book an appointment because a good friend of mine recommended his doctor, Albert Herrera. So, after a long process of changing my primary doctor on my insurance that was asked by the MVIM employee who answered my call (never asked this before in my life with any single doctor i went) we set an appointment for 12/8 but not only for me but for my wife also. We both reconfirmed the date but they told me we will be seen by another doctor, DEBORA VASQUEZ because the doctor i was recommended don't see new patients, i said OK, what can i do and was promise he will see me in the next one. On the day before the appointment, we were contacted and informed that our appointments were canceled because Dr Vasquez had an emergency, we said ok, what can we do, so we reschedule our appointments for 12/29. Well, it happens that today we got cancelled again with the same excuse so i called and the poor lady who took my call had to listen to all my complaint, i do not really like complaint when things like this happens but this is a HEALTH issue, is not my cable fios cell phone or appliance problem so i have to address these so others can understand my frustration. I WILL NEVER RECOMEND THIS PLACE/SERVICE TO ANYONE!!!! P.S; forgot to mention the day of the first cancellation i called all three locations MVIM has, the phone rang for 1 hour, pushing different options and no one answered the call. read more

After working at this establishment for the past two years i would not recommend anyone who's looking for a job to join this practice. Besides the fact that they do not pay on time, this practice does not care about any of their employees or their well beings. They look after the practice more then the people that work there and pick and choose when "their" rules apply. They make it okay to break their own rules..smh. Also, they dislike dealing with confrontation and with people who stand up for themselves. I have never worked at a terrible establishment like this. Beware. Period. Ends will never justify the means at this practice, hard work does not and will not pay off no matter the countless effort and hours exerted. if you consider yourself a smart, hard working individual i would advise you to take another route. read more

I saw the nurse practitioner Elizabeth Lawhon. I didn't wait more than 20 minutes. The office is in an old building so it's dated as are the cramped exam rooms. Don't let that deter you. She was terrific. I felt listened to & was definitely pointed in the right direction for my injury. When the first question was, does your PT do dry needling? I knew she was up to date on current modes of treatment She was personable & straight forward. Glad I found a great new provider. Office staff was pleasant. read more

Chris, the sonographer was truly a blessing. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain what he was doing, as he was doing it. I have had ultrasounds before, but Chris looked at everything and was meticulous with his measurements. What really impressed me was he was able to catch and image something my previous specialist missed. His bedside manner is remarkable, I am always a bit nervous about these exams but by the time I left I was joking and laughing with him, despite me being a little bit confrontational with him when I started (I got into a fender-bender on the way in). Mount Vernon Internal Medicine and my provider have been good to me, but their sonographer truly was a blessing. Thank you, and best wishes Chris read more

Dr.Siddon is great! he is straight to the point, and very informative. I have a busy schedule between work and school. Therefor, I like that I show up 15 mins early, seen at my scheduled appointment time, and out the door within 15-30 minutes. The staff is helpful with directing you and informing you with any questions. I also love the portal, making it easy to schedule appointments and message the office with any questions I have. read more

Had only 1 visit to this practice so far, but I love it. The office staff were nice and efficient, had only waited 5 minutes after filling initial office paperwork. The nurse was great too and thorough. The doctor was straight to the point in assessing my illness, very conservative in prescribed medicine due to the fact I'm breastfeeding. Offered alternative treatments. I appreciate his concern for my child. read more

In my personal experience I don't like any of the Doctors there. It took me awhile to finally realize it but I am glad I no longer go there anymore. My advice would be to try other places and make sure a Doctor listens to you and not just hurries you up in order to see more patients as to earn more money for themselves. read more

I left Mt Vernon Internal Med in search of a female GP, but just recently returned. I was thrilled to meet Dr. Sonya Bethel who joined the team while I was gone. The appt was one of the best I've had with a GP. I needed blood work and her asst (also joining during the year I'd left) made the process as close to pain free as it can get. I recommended the dr. to a friend and she also had a very favorable opinion. read more
