It was an awesome flight with Sammy to see Mount Rushmore closer than imagined!! Informative, friendly, and courteous. The whole staff is very professional with contact from the day of booking throughout the days before and the day of the flight. I would love to go again! It was a somewhat rainy day, but a wonderful ride! Highly recommend.

Great tour - book with them - get the extended tour There are several choices for helicopter tours of Mount Rushmore. We decided to try this business. I was glad we did for several reasons. We were up in the air from walking in within about 15 minutes. We got the extended tour which took us around Mount Rushmore and by several other sites nearby. But the best part was the altitude. Their company is allowed to fly at a lower altitude and so it's a much better view (IMO). At the end they do their best to make sure that you get a group photo in front of the helicopter. Great people, great sites, great experience. Definitely recommend!

We had a great time seeing Rushmore and all the other sites in the area pilot Matt v is amazing! Highly recommend this very professional folks

Our driver. So nice and great commentator for our tour!

The Roosevelt Inn was clean, quiet, and had updated rooms. We had two rooms: a king room with balcony and a two-queen room. The king room had more space and a larger bathroom with a walk-in shower. The two-queen room was more cramped (not surprising) and had a smaller bathroom with a tub-shower combo. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast, which was included, included cold cereal, oatmeal with several toppings, eggs, sausage patties, and potatoes. There was also a machine that made pancakes. There were also several types of bread to toast. The juice machine had a couple different juices and the regular and decaf coffees were good. A lactose-free/non-dairy milk would have been nice. The hotel also had a swimming pool, a game room, and laundry facilities. It was walking distance to several restaurants including Halley's, a pizza place, Subway, bagel place, coffee, and a wine bar.

Ashley and Reeva (super nice gals) couldn't have been more accommodating. I'd go back again just to visit with them. Nice walk to downtown. Great cocktails at the Red Garter Saloon and dinner at The Ruby Rose. Enjoyed everything about the trip except the bugs. At least they didn't bite

Crystal-clear water is surrounded by massive granite rock formations, towering pine trees, and some of the most picturesque landscapes you'll find anywhere in the region. One of our favorite parts was walking around the lake on the easy Shoreline Trail. The trail is well maintained and offers incredible views from every angle. We also enjoyed walking across the historic stone dam, which provides a fantastic vantage point for photos and a great perspective of the lake and surrounding rock formations. What makes Sylvan Lake special is that it's the perfect destination for almost everyone. Whether you enjoy hiking, photography, kayaking, swimming, rock scrambling, or simply relaxing in nature, there's something here for you. The area is clean, well cared for, and easy to access. The location is also an excellent starting point for hikers heading to Black Elk Peak, but even if you don't plan to do a longer hike, the lake itself is worth the visit. If you're exploring Custer State Park or driving the Needles Highway, don't miss Sylvan Lake. It's one of those rare places that looks even better in person than it does in photographs. I couldn't believe how spotless the bathrooms were every single time I went in, it was perfect. The electric sites are fairly close together, so if you're looking for more privacy, I'd recommend the walk-in sites. The unfortunate thing about the walk-in sites are the more secluded sites (like #16, #17, and #21) require a bit of an uphill trek. It's not a long walk, but it does take a little bit of effort to get everything up there. That said, Site #21 was one of the best campsites I've ever stayed in, it was worth the extra sweat. The only reason I'm giving this place four stars is because the trail to the walk-in sites is very rough. They do provide a wheelbarrow to help carry your stuff, but the terrain is so rocky that using it seemed like more trouble compared to just walking your stuff up. Overall we enjoyed our stay and everyone was so quiet, it really felt like it was just you in nature.
