I love exploring the menu and got the mango salmon roll this time and the yellowfin tuna sushi. Both were absolutely incredible soft delicious and well presented. The mango salmon roll was just the perfect amount of salmon to sushi and was very filling even though it's a rice less roll. I have been to many sushi places over the years and this is one of the best of Denton! There are so many options on the menu that are unique and I'm sure you will find something you love. Please support the wonderful family who runs this place because they really care about their customers and that the experience is fast and great. I will be bringing my pregnant wife back here from The Woodlands just to eat here one evening it is that good. The sushimi is the freshest you will find and their rolls all incredible Im sure but the Fiesta roll is the one. Make sure you ask about James Bond the owner who is behind the sushi bar serving it up. To top all this off make sure you try the blue fin, but makes sure you ask for the off the menu cut of the cheek of the blue fin you won't be disappointed. The restaurant has changed dramatic since the remodel, and it's for the worse! What was once a favorite for me any my friends is now unrecognized, they have eliminated the classic rolls from their menu and no longer make many classics. All the new rolls are over complicated and have fresh fish, if that's what your into go for it but beware it's not very good. The restaurant is in a dying strip and has no ambiance. The prices have risen due to all dishes having fresh fish included, but because this is a hole in the wall in Denton I did not expect to pay Dallas prices. The nail in the coffin was the service, it took 20+ minutes for rice to arrive, and the dishes me and my friends ordered all came at different times. Sad to see such a good place go. read more

Needed a date night and so we decided to come here. We each ordered the sashimi combo. Mix tempura and a house salad. The sashimi combo comes with miso soup.l and rainbow roll. First thing that comes in is my salad. Nice little side salad to start off. Flavor was good and salad was fresh. Next thing to come was our sashimi combo. We were a bit confused since we ordered appetizer (mixed tempura). We shrugged it off because maybe it was delayed. My husband ordered a side of fried rice when sashimi came. We waited a bit so he can enjoy the rice with his dinner. Time passed by and neither mixed tempura or fried rice came. After more time passes by we flag down the server and asked where the tempura was. He went to check and it seems as if the order was never placed. A while after it finally came... the sauce with it was all wrong. Very tangy and not the sauce that tempura always comes with. We then had to flag them down again asking where the fried rice was. They forgot to put that order in as well. We said just plain rice will do at this point because we didn't want to wait again for them to make it. The sashimi was good but the tuna was horrible... it's supposed to be fresh but it had definitively gone bad where I had to spit it out. The servers were super nice despite their lack of putting orders in... I just can't find myself going back here due to the lack of attention and spoiled tuna. read more

I've ordered the same thing a couple times and they've have different preparations every time showing how much the chef puts love and care into every dish. I'm not sure if we caught them in a post lunch rush on a Saturday at 115pm or what, but I was very surprised at the service and the entire 'vibe' in this place was strange. Our server was young and was extremely awkward and seemed new thats easy enough to overlook. We were one of 4 tables in a pretty large space. When we walked in our server said loudly from the back of the room to seat ourselves. All of us were fairly close to one another in the booths. Two of the staff members stared at us from the back of the room for 10min before even approaching us for drinks. I tried to get their attention ad the setup in the booth only had a set up for 2 and we were a party of 4. Our server came to the table and I asked for 2 more menus, and 2 more chopsticks, etc. He went missing without out drink order for another few minutes in the back which I thought was odd, he came back and was like, "NOW, may I take your drink orders?" We gave it to him and said we were ready to order our appetizers and he told he he'd get it when he got back with the drinks....oooookaaaayyyy...weird but alright. You are about to go ring up drinks and make them it's be pretty easy to push in edemame and miss soup, but I didn't say anything. He came back with our drinks and I ordered the appetizers. I told him wer were now ready to order. He said ok I can place that now or would you like to enjoy your appetizers 1st and then order? I told him that's be fine and I really didn't think anything of it because there was a total of 12 customers, so I figured it'd come out fairly quickly. It's miso soup and edemame.... 25 minutes went by and I had to flag him down to ask what was going in and tell him we need to order. He said appetizers were about to come out. I ordered our 4 rolls and a place of shrimp fried rice for the kids and he placed it in the ordering system. Our appetizers STILL hadn't been delivered so I flagged down the other server and asked hiw much longer for edemame and a premade soup, and he didn't even go look he said aww about 5 min...and here comes our server with our 1st sushi roll... I told both of them standing there to cancel the appetizers now. By this time we had been there almost an hour, and had JUST gotten our 1st roll. 6more minutes roll 2, 2 more minutes roll 3, then the strip fried rice, which was cold, and then our 4th sushi roll...and here's the killer...The booth beside us....ORDERED 15MIN after we initially did, were now all being served miso soup & their entrees from the kitchen‍‍‍. WHAT WAS HAPPENING back there???? We never had 1 offer for refills and after our food was dropped off, I had to get up another 30min later and ask to have my check printed. Here's what killed me, the sushi was beautiful and was so good...& it came out so quick after our dum dum server finally placed the order. Its a shame too because the service yesterday was abysmal, awkward, and off-putting. I'd like to try again and maybe a busier Friday or Saturday night is better but if on a day at 115om with 12 TOTAL customers was a struggle I can only IMAGINE what 8pm on a Saturday night is like.... read more

We found an amazing place for sushi and more. This little place is so cozy and quaint. Not only is the place super cute the service was excellent. I wish I could remember our waiters name to praise his knowledge of the menu but most of all the curtesy and wonderful customer service he gave us. I wish this place was closer to home.
