I've been a customer for decades. The staff has always been knowledgeable and friendly. This is the first business I check when I'm in need of a part for my 78 280Z. They've been around longer than a lot of the other Z stores, so they know what's up and what's best for your car. read more

Ordering a center/middle console from The Z Store / Motorsport Auto was one of the worst online parts experiences I've had. Ordered 6/2 with a 2-4 week estimate. Without any notice, the order was cancelled because their billing dept made a mistake running my credit card -- my credit is over 800, excellent. They cancelled the order. Must of tried again and it went through. Now, they have to reorder it. No email, no call. I later saw on my credit card they billed me on 7/21. I had to call /email numerous times just to get a status. Rep told me about the billing error and said it would ship when the console arrived. By 8/15 I still had no update and had to email again. It finally shipped sometime 8/20-8/29. My significant other tried to install it and it did not fit. I called, spoke to same rep. Told him another customer had the same issue, and posted as such. The rep wanted that info and I was told to send it back and was assured of a refund. I inquired about the return shipping. Rep stated I would be reimbursed. Sent back 9/4, they received 9/8. Cost $17.10. Never heard back. Had to call on 9/29 to ask where my refund was. That's when I was told they would not reimburse return shipping -- opposite of what I was promised. Manager acknowledged their mistakes but still refused to cover return shipping. The lack of communication, their mistake in how they billed my CC, having to chase status, and then not honoring what I was told about return shipping is unacceptable. No where on their site is this return shipping policy clearly addressed. I had ordered the lid for the middle console years ago from them. It broke within a month. I just ate the $135. I will never use them again. read more

Just a brief review, a positive one. I reached out yesterday to inquire about wiper arms for my 76 Z. I spoke with David which was very knowledgeable and helpful. The wiper arms I needed was discontinued but was able to give me some sources and I was able to find what I needed. Either way I have used Motorsport Auto before for other parts I have needed and glad they are local, and so easy to deal with. Thank you again. read more

I bought a Datsun hat for $12.95 and $1 fee. I was able to pick in person or you can pay for shipping for $8 or $30 depending on the option. I appreciate David for reaching me out and letting me know my options for shipping and delivering excellent customer service. You wait on in front or call it to get help right away respecting covid safety protocols. read more

Called to ask questions about some parts. Whoever picked up the phone sure was a fast talker(!), but very helpful, answered all my questions, which I appreciate. Great service before even spending any money, he even recommended a another specialist for parts and service. read more

This place is amazing. They've never not been able to get what I need. They almost always have everything in stock. The prices are a little on the high side but youre dealing with 45+ year old cars, that's expected. The customer service is always the best. I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. If you need Z parts, I wouldn't go anywhere but here! And the Z Bash they host is awesome! Thanks MSA for your contributions to the Z community!!! read more

I've ordered parts from Motorsport Auto for many years. They've always been a great source for parts for my 280Z. This week, however, I had a beyond-the-ordinary experience that compelled me to post a review. I called Motorsport and asked for assistance in identifying a mystery part on my car that I could not find reference to in the Nissan service manual. After sending a photo to Alejandro, he surveyed his colleagues and emailed me back information about the part - something called a dash pot. Now, Motorsport doesn't actually sell this part, but he felt compelled to write back to me just so I had the information. Good stuff. read more

Great shop. Have many parts in stock which is always a plus. Went to a Z car show they hosted at angel's stadium and had a blast. Got to support a business that supports the datsun community! read more

Great place , friendly staff and an outstanding knowledge about Z history, great environment ... Z store great job!!!!

Wont be shopping here unless I absolutely need it. One of the workers offered me a "discounted" downpipe, because he claimed it was from an opened box. After shopping here so many years, I didn't hesitate to refuse the offer. No returns since it was on sale. I get home to put it on and it has an obvious alignment issue. The slip fitting for the headers and downpipe didn't line up. I was even able to get another header collector on without any problem. I called and told them my problem and request; and they kindly responded by telling me that they "most likely got them in the order yesterday" and I could receive a replacement the same day. After my drive to Orange, I arrived and they said that they had none in stock. Next, they tried to say that I don't know how to work on my car and put on a slip fitting. Ha! These guys are a joke. They dont realize that I paid for a part, and that I should receive something that fits! They couldn't own up to the part being out of alignment even after they tried to wiggle it on their headers at the store. Couldn't get it on more than an inch; but any other collector goes on the full slip! Right in front of their eyes and they couldnt admit to selling me a defective part. Never recommending this company again. If you can find the product elsewhere, order it! It's probably out of stock at Motorsport anyway. read more

Alejandro in sales/customer service is always courteous and quick to help and answer any questions I may have on their merchandise, or specific questions related to my 240Z. read more

Ordered a re-built alternator online and when I received it the part was not Hitachi but AC Delco. There was no indication on the page that the part was not a rebuilt original manufacturer part but ok I assumed I would just return it. When I called I was told that they did not accept electric part returns - also not indicated on the web page but buried way down in the fine print on the order page. Have purchased from here before, will not in the future. read more

Ordered from them many times. Always impressed with their customer service & quality of carbon fiber parts for my 370Z!

In restoring a Datsun 240Z, I ordered some parts on line from the Z Store. The web site was easy to navigate, prices fair and service excellent. It seems funny to say service when communications were all on line or email but they did provide great service. I received an email shortly after placing my order to confirm receipt. A second email from Motorsport Auto confirmed they received the order and parts were in stock. Jon projected shipment within 24 hrs via Fed Ex ground (I selected the least expensive shipping option) and suggested it should arrive in two business days. From order to delivery, the process was less than 48 hours. Products were well packaged and intact. This is as easy as it gets. I will definitely use them again and not hesitate to recommend their service. read more

All purchase of vintage car parts from this store have been great EXCEPT for one...be advised... As a classic auto enthusiast, I have a bug for early Z cars from the 1970s. This is the "sketchy" product... Aluminum Rear Brake Drum, 70-78 240Z-260Z-280Z Code: 24-5050A Price:$129.95 website link: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic01b/24-5050A Purchased a pair and had a professional auto shop install the aluminum drums on my 240Z. The car was in the process of restoration and was driven less than 1,500 miles after installing the new brake drums. 8 months after purchase, the car was roadworthy, intended for "occasional" weekend use...however, I noticed a problem with the parking brake not holding the car on my driveway. Upon inspection by my local brake shop, it was observed the right rear drum had three cracks in it and was unsuitable for safety reasons for the shop to adjust the parking brake. My shop stated it was highly unusual and unsafe, and they were not able to perform any work using the cracked drum for safety reasons. I tried to have the part replaced, but was definitively declined by Motorsport Auto due to customer support citing the manufacturer only provided a 90 day, 2,500 mile warranty. They requested I send photos of the defect, which I did, but after contacting their supplier, the problem was declined due to "unpublished" warranty standards by their manufacturer (past 90 days). Caught between a rock and a hard place, I had to pay again to obtain a replacement part, which may be "dangerous" due to manufacturing defect...would you feel good knowing your brakes may fail due to faulty casting??? Please be very cautious. In general, Motorsport Auto is great, other than this experience. read more
