Gonna be completely honest my bike was a mess sitting for a year with bad work done to it, im talking flat tire leaks from primary exhaust barely hanging on for its life. First time I call seemed professional, once we hung up I get a call back immediately asking if I'd like them to pick up. I agree but the pick up tow guy from their service shop asked if I lived somewhere else when he came to my house the given address to pick up the motorcycle. I had to open my garage to get the bike out into his tiny truck no tow trailer. My garage full of other European race titled championship race bikes. But he ask if I lived somewhere else, with a smile pointing at my bikes my house I say no THIS IS MY HOUSE. He gave a fake handshake you know when they barely touch your hand no firm grip had me help him load my bike into the back of this tiny truck has me put a signature initials date on a pick up receipt, I try to give him heads up on the problems because the person on the phone as many times we spoke always asked again what was the issues, I even texted her but they still needed me to tell them. Last time we spoke seconds later comes an estimate then jumps on the phone the owner trying to school me on how to warm the bike before riding I play the fool ask some silly questions about tire warmers all stuff I already know and nothing that was troubling my bike, once he is done with the convo no thanks we'll keep you posted no thanks bye; he just sounded annoyed and hung up. I then text them back showing yes I watch professional racing but none of the things you spoke of takes place on the track, you might see the tire warmers on a secondary bike in the case the primary is downed but no long boring scenes of the racers techs warming the engines, some even say no longer carburetor so no need to warm up. They do not text phone call or even email with updates in what's taking so long or estimated time when it will be done, in fact it is easier FASTER to show up to any dealership ask who to have the bank make out the cashiers check to return with the check and drive home. 2026 Aprilia RSV4 Factory already in American dealerships. So would I recommend illiterate phone personnel, think they are the most schooled in racing machines tech/owner no I do not, unless you have issues with the dealership you bought from Go back always, may even be cheaper warranties equal free repair which means all the extras is all you pay for. This is the good, the bad and the ugly review. I will be as direct as possible and give nothing but facts. I brought my motorcycle to this location because of the good reviews and it was nearby my area. I also remember that I met either the owner or worker there while shopping at Lowe's and my first impression was top notch. Reason why I brought my motorcycle there was it had an unusual electrical gremlin. The day prior the bike was perfect, and the next it would not run. I took it to this spot, explained the issues and everything up to that point, and let them know to take their time cause I was in no rush. I also knew things like this need time to diagnose properly to avoid parts buying when it's not needed. The good: The motorcycle was "fixed." Turned out that the Stator was trashed and I needed new MAF sensors. I was happy for the service at the time. The bad: They returned my bike with a cosmetic part missing. It's a rubber piece that surrounds the key to mask the frame and stuff. Purely cosmetic and nothing else. I let them know, and they said they would order the part in and call me when it arrives because they misplaced it. I was fine with this arrangement. The ugly: If you see the video, beware of my language used cause it was shot in the moment of discovering what service was done to my bike. I will go ahead and explain it here in case you don't want to see the video. Story for "the ugly": I barely used my bike, since Its mainly used for fun or to get around areas where parking is a hassle. Previously the motorcycle ran fantastic. No issues whatsoever after repairs were done to it. Then I took it out again since I was going a bit far for work and I did not feel like driving and being stuck in traffic. The motorcycle felt off, it just wasn't running correctly. Eventually, I got home and that's when the bike turned off and refused to start. Sounded similar to a dead battery. I figured it might be that but just to verify I charged the battery and then tested it. Turned out to be fine. Checked the Regulator and that was fine and eventually the Stator which turned out to be the problem. While testing, I uncovered other issues from the repair such as: the Regulator plug was slightly damaged, Stator Plug was damaged and something like JB plastic weld was used, wires were pinched, and nuts missing. Now let me be very clear, I am able to diagnose and fix things on my motorcycle; or in other words I'm mechanically inclined. I DID NOT DO OR ALLOW ANY ONE ELSE TO REPAIR MY MOTORCYCLE. I WOULD NOT SLANDER A COMPANY. I took my motorcycle there because I did not want to spend my time diagnosing an electrical gremlin and I was also busy with work and life. Continuing with the facts, I ended up cleaning the connection by filing away the plastic to expose the plug and allow a full and secure connection. Then I tested the stator and it was ok. It was a little on the low end but it was now charging my battery while on Idle and on throttle. I called them to verify if a new stator was put in place and was treated indifferent to almost rude. I was not expecting compensation or anything of that sort, I just wanted to know if a new part was installed because I did not want to be left stranded while riding the bike. Nonetheless, I should have expected it since the repair was done about 10 months ago. This is when I asked about my little cosmetic piece and was told there was nothing on file and too much time has passed and there is nothing they could do about it. I understandably took that as a loss since they are correct that too much time has passed. I should have been more proactive in regard to that but as such, that's life. So now, would I recommend this place? Maybe...they did repair my motorcycle and I greatly appreciate their efforts in keeping me up to date on what steps they did to finally diagnose the issue, but, they did what I felt was a bad job since I had to go back and correct the mistakes made especially for the price I paid. Potentially I'm one of the unlucky individuals with a former good positive review now turned bad and I won't be bringing my motorcycle there. I will make time to complete repairs or maintenance like before or find another shop to do it for me. read more

So here's my story I got a R6 and the forks have been leaking went to a shop which told me not only the seals have to be replaced the whole forks have to be rebuild -both! Estimated costs $1,800! I was devastated and shocked! I reached out to Alex and here's what happened. Alex and his techs are not qualified to work on BMW motorcycles and Clearwater lights I brought my GS to him for seemingly simple shock swap and LED light installation but was left with a butchered wiring that needed to be taken to BMW of Ventura to fix, where I was told by licensed technicians that installation was done in "embarrassing" and"messed up" (see attached comments and bike being stripped to route the wiring in photos) I wish I never wasted 4 days of my time with this clown who claims, in his own words to be "top of the food chain" in motorcycle world, making it sound like he raced with Rossi, while a simple google search showing that he rarely won anything and all the races he participated were some local, irrelevant ones (akin a 5k run for your weekend warrior type) Sadly, this guy never took responsibility for his ineptitude and never apologised for wasting my time calling me 8 times to complain that the brackets were wrong: they weren't; that a headlight is not working: he plugged it upside down; that a shock was hard to install: it's a stock shock. Alex keeps on saying that Clearwater lights I brought had parts missing, so I called to company headquarters and put them on a speakerphone for Billy, one of Clearwater founders to explain to those idiots how to do the job and that no parts were missing, yet Alex still claims, without evidence that he needed extra sockets. Next day, I took the bike to BMW of Ventura where his horrible job was straightened out without adding any extra parts. Bike was taken apart to find all the mistakes that Alex made, but it was done 2x the speed and zero complaints from bmw techs who laughed at this guy incompetence In conclusion: I think Alex is fine to change your tires, oil and other small, easy to do things that don't require skill, but for anything even remotely hard, I suggest you go to a place that has experience with dealing with whatever your issue might be. Alex and team at MPS needs to go ahead and add Mv Agusta to the list of motorcycles that they service. Alex's Shop is a true gem! His employees are knowledgeable and passionate about motorcycles. You're greeted by 1 and sometimes 2 German Shepherds who are just big babies and will happily bring you gifts (their toys) initiating play. Oh yeah, the bikes.. When we bought Goose a year and a half ago, we were hating the fact that we were going to have to haul or ride it to Moorpark (by Thousand Oaks) to get it serviced because it was a certified Mv Agusta dealer and servicing center. Ugh. One day we rode our bike to an open house which just happened to be next door to Alex's. He saw our bike parked out front and he popped in and let us know about is shop. Sooo perfect timing because we were already in need of our 600 mile tune up --and we honestly were pushing 800 at the time. So obvi we desperately needed it. We took our bike in the following week for our tune up and wow could we feel the difference! Prices were fair and the time it took him was done in a timely manner. A couple months later (August 2018) we brought Goose in to put the fender eliminator kit on. It took about a week for parts to come in and the manufacture didn't include instructions! Thankfully Alex and his team are such geniuses they hooked it seamlessly! He noted that it wasn't easy but ensured the job was done right! Goose looks SO good w/out the long ugly factory fender thingy. We live about 45 min out now (moved from Miracle Mile area) but we still continue to take our bike to Motorcycle Performance Services. Again, the staff is great and so is the owner. We've made MPS our Mv Agusta's home for servicing. If you're looking for a place to check your bike in drop by and check it out. Seems like a good shop, the location is great and the staff is friendly. Brought my bike in for a chain service and re-installing the original rear shock linkage, no appointment and it was done in two hours. They've got a lot of really cool bikes at the shop and some gear as well. When I walked in to pick up my bike they were just finishing up and I saw a staff member use an impact driver on my axle nut instead of a torque wrench, which isn't desirable. I'll probably check that myself as well as the shock linkage to make sure it's according to factory spec. If anyone needs motorcycle maintenance in this area definitely check out this shop. read more

This place is okay. Management here sucks, Alex was rude, slimey, not friendly whatsoever, no customer service skills and will try to upsell you at any cost, even when you say no he will complain and bitch. Brought in a relatively used bike, for a "mini" service, which is an oil change, filter, chain lube, tire pressure, and just a general check. Also my clutch cable snapped so I let them change that too. I get a call 3 hours once they started working on my bike. The bike is "unridable". The manager Alex starts listing off all these things that need attention, but nothing that makes the bike unridable and top that start insulting me, guilt tripping me try to get a sale. 100 bucks is what he quoted me to go find some engine mount screws and replace the one that are in there. Legit to unscrew 4 bolts, and tighten 4 new ones, he quoted me a 100 bucks... that's how scumbaggish this guy is. Avoid talking to Alex at all cost he is a menace menace to the riding community. Matt the other tech in shop was super chill the only reason why this place is getting a 3 star. Matt received my bike in the morning. Recommended me a new rear tire, with evidence. Unlike Alex who tried to also sell me the front even though I'm no where near the wear limit. He super informative on the clutch cable with the aftermarket bars that I have on my bike. Long story short. Avoid asshole Alex and try to only communicate with good guy Matt. Tips to Alex. Dude when someone says they can handle it, says no to your suggestions back off. He is fair, and because he loves what he does, if he hits a rough patch in figuring out an issue, he spends way more time than he should working on it but doesn't charge you. I had a very good experience buying a used (salvaged) BMW s1000r off Alex over a month ago. The bike had been rear ended and the subframe broken. Alex had done a little work on it previously and knew it was mechanically sound. I could only go on his word, reputation, and my sense of his capabilities and trustworthiness, as I was not allowed to test drive the bike first, and this was our first interaction. I have now put 1000 miles and significant speed and s-curves on this bike; I feel confident that he knows what he is doing and is a straight shooter. It runs perfectly and I feel I was dealt with fairly and honestly. Alex seems to know a lot about performance from a mechanics and rider's perspective, and I would consider him first for any performance-related work. Rude, unpleasant and doesn't keep his word. Quoted me to replace the tire on my wheel if I brought it in so I rode 15 miles to get there with a back tire sitting over my shoulders. Not fun. And when I got there he added $50 to the price he had previously quoted me on the phone and told me he could not do it for several hours although he had told me on the phone he could get to it as soon as I brought it in. read more

There's nothing wrong with expensive shops, run by people people that try to make a point that they have been riding longer than you, if they are putting out quality work. Alex was a dick and made it very clear he knew exactly what he was doing from the moment I tried requesting spoke weights rather than stick on weights for my 1973 Moto Guzzi. The only problem with having his attitude is your work needs to be of the quality you say you have. The rear brake cable was installed wrong and the front brake was adjusted so poorly that the lever had to be pulled all the way to the throttle to get any feeling. One star for installing my tire in a fair amount of time. read more

Second time I'm bringing my bike here. This place was recommended by the Honda/BMW motorcycle dealership/shop on Santa Monica blvd. Both times, I've dealt with Alex (owner) and he's a straight-to-the-point fellow. Looked at my bike told me what was wrong. What needed to be done, and what I was doing wrong. Which is appreciated. Bike was finished on time on the date promised (which if anyone who has had their vehicle serviced where ordering parts is involved and one having to leave their vehicle for a couple of days, is a rarity) so no sort of inconvenient delays were experienced. The initial estimate was very close to the final cost so no real surprises of "we had to replace this extra part..." My bike is due for brake service and I will be bringing it back here. I've been to them a few times and they seemed like they were pretty friendly as long as nothing goes wrong. Well I got into a motorcycle accident and the insurance was taking a while to submit the check so the shop didn't start to work on the bike at all. From day one I asked Alex (I believe that's his name, it's the owners right hand man there) if he wanted me to pick up my bike while they wait for the check and he told me that it's fine to leave it there because it's during the winter season and they don't have a ton of bikes there. So two months go by with him calling me three times during that time. And each time I asked him if he wanted me to come pick up the bike and he said no or just wait for insurance. So finally at the end of two months he calls me up and says he must charge me storage fees so that's when things got bad. I reiterated to him about what he said and all he did was come up with excuses about it being there too long when from day one I offered to take it home because it was still rideable. No way would I have left it there if I knew he would charge me that $500. He then says that if I bring the bike within 30 days that 250 will be applied to the repairs but I don't care about that anymore it's the principle. I will never go back to the shop again. I have a house with plenty of storage there's no reason for me to leave that bike there so this was a total rip off. Alex don't tell your customers it's OK to leave a bike there because of the slow season when all you're gonna do is charge them storage fees in the end. I have the check from the insurance finally. I got it a couple weeks after I had to pay you. But now I'm taking my business elsewhere. I can't stand shady people and this is the only reason I'm wasting my time on a review. read more

First visit: I brought my bosses Ducati (Monster s4rs) in last week because after running fine for over 30min it stalled and it wouldn't start. I brought it in to MPS on a referral and met Alex who is great! He explained in detail what he thought it might be and gave me an estimate on labor to take a look. I got a call an hour later that it was ready (just the regulator) Being that it's a Ducati, they could've easily come up with all sorts of expensive things, but they were honest and communicative. *second visit: today my 2003 Triumph Bonneville died while at a red light and wouldn't restart, so I immediately had it towed to MPS. Alex again explained what he thought might be wrong but asked me to wait a few minutes a so that his guys could take a quick look just incase it was a quick-fix... unfortunately not this time:( So I had to leave it, but Alex went through the possible issues and gave me some ballpark estimates of cost...so fingers crossed and I'll be updating this once I hear back from them. read more
