Thank God for this place! I found an efficient, kind, professional AND a trustworthy mechanic! And someone who actually answers the phones and gives me direct answers. I was so pleased with the customer service I received. I actually asked Chat GPT for a recommendation and Hugo's was top of the list, and the team here exceeded expectations. I was unable to come until late in the day and instead of turning me away, even though it was EOD, I was given great customer service. I will definitely be recommending this shop and I will look to them for my car needs moving forward. Nice, honest & smart folk. read more

They told me the wait would be 45min. I waited 1:30 to start be seen. Then he charged $60 for inspection which they said would go towards any cost needed. At the end they didn't even have the piece I needed and told me to order it online. When I asked if the installment would be covered/free he said it would cost $30 for the labor. So what's the point of the inspection charge. I already knew my windows needed to be fixed. He should have mentioned he didn't have the piece before starting or at least offered to cover the labor. read more

Hugo & Pepe are the BEST in LA! Honest, good humans who do GREAT work! They rank ten stars, not just five. You will not find a better shop, period. read more

Got great services very from Hugo! I'm happy to have a found a great mechanic. Quick service.

As a female car owner, I felt super comfortable dealing with both Hugo and Pepe. I called ahead of time and they were able to check my car issue. The purpose of my visit was for a second opinion and Hugo was able to patiently answer all of my questions and he provided more insight into the problem. Even in a city as big as LA, this experience felt like something out of small town America. I highly recommend them. read more

Honest mechanic. Service is good and he's helpful with setting up a plan on what needs to be done now and what can be done later

Hugo is getting on and a little grumpy but he's the ace if you have any electrical problems with your vehicle. Best to call him as he's always full and even when he tells you to come at a specific time you must have to wait anyway. Also reasonable prices, especially compared to rates my previous mechanic's electrical guy charged. read more

Hugo fixed my electrical problem on my Lexus. Fair price. Highly recommend. A++ in my book.

Hugo is an outstanding mechanic who is very honest and straightforward. I highly recommend him.

Hugo is the best! The guy is funny and really cares about the work. He takes the time to educate you on the problem as he fixes it. I went in thinking I needed two window motors but it turns out it was just an electrical problem. Not to mention he had this fixed in less than an hour! And to top it off the prices are great. I'm a car guy and I can tell you that this is the best shop in town for any electrical needs read more

Hugo always answers the phone, saves me loads of money and attends to my needs as soon as he can. I've gone to his shop 3 times now, over the years. read more

I had a great experience at this shop. I was calling around for quotes on a car window repair. Enter Hugo who provided me with the option to get the window regulator part independently or having him order it. He quoted me a great price and I made an appointment to bring my car in. When I arrived at the shop, everyone was friendly and it seemed like I was the only car there. He told me it would be about an hour, and asked if I wanted to wait. I opted to walk down to the Starbucks and visit a friend. When I got back, the worker told me he had just finished the car and he did a great job. He even showed me the old broken regulator and motor to explain what was happening. I am so glad I found this place. I'll definitely be back with any other electrical needs for my car. read more

He was very kind and got a problem with my headlight that I was quoted $1300 for less than $30 in under 30 minutes. Muchas gracias Hugo tienes el mejor servicio! read more

If I could give him 100 stars, I would, as I am Very satisfied with the service!! He even gave me big discount. They are very honest and very kind! This is the reason why they have a lot of customers. I waited in their shop 2 hours before the opening because I dint have an appointment. They took the car and fixed it. Very considerate. I will definitely refer your shop to my family and friends. Thank you for fixing the issues with my car. God bless! read more

Great work, great price and a very nice honest man. Found the source of my electrical short in short time. Pun intended.

Hugo and Pepe have always been very reliable and honest. They are good mechanics who do very good work. They've helped me with my family's cars for years. I would definitely recommend Hugo's Auto Electric. read more

So I went in last week for a repair. They are so amazing, they had several customers. But they somehow fit me in. Let me remind you this is actually my second place for a quote. I'm a female, and my dad always said go to two places. To my surprise the other place was charging me double. Hugo auto electric shop was so much cheaper. I am so happy to say that they are HONEST!!! It so important to me that they are honest. This outstanding place had great customer service and fair prices. I will be back to this place for any issues or maintenance I need for the near future. Shoutout and BIG THANK YOU!!! read more

Great service ,great prices and he is honest and very understanding very friendly so if you are looking to get work done on your car this is the place he works w you like no other mechanic on prices and on parts , labor ! We love Hugo read more

Hugo knows what he's doing. He does a great job. No hassles. No b.s. Reasonable prices.

Hugo is fantastic. He is knowledgeable, highly experienced, honest, and very helpful. The electronic switches on all 4 of my car doors had failed. I could not adjust my mirrors, lock/unlock the doors, and my driver window was stuck partially open--I needed to get it fixed asap. I suspected it was due to the outboard wiring harness driver door, but didn't have the time nor the expertise to fix it properly. When I brought it in to Hugo's shop around opening time, he was kind enough to work me into his busy schedule w/o an appointment. He even let me hang around to watch/learn, and pointed a few things out to me. He also found a fix that didn't require replacement parts and saved me $$. Thank you Hugo! read more

Hugo has been great and reliable over the years! I had an issue with my driver side door window and Hugo was able to look at it and have it fixed the same day! Great service as always and would definitely recommend! read more

TL;DR Hugo is trustworthy, kind, does a great job and informs the car owner about what is happening as he does his job. Hugo is great! I have been to and talked to plenty of mechanics and Hugo is on a different level. I am on a budget and my car misfired. a bunch of other places wanted to charge me more and they didn't really explain to me what could be going wrong, Hugo explained it perfectly. He also did some basic things for free that helped my car stop making a rattling noise. He showed me what was wrong with my car and I really trust him! I will be going back and telling all my friends about him. read more

Thank goodness I found Hugo's before I kept my appointment at a different, more generalized auto shop. I figured a mechanic that specialized in electrical problems would be more likely to quickly determine why my power locks, windows, dome light and stereo were inoperative. Misguidedly, It probably wasn't my smartest move to stop by Hugo's without calling ahead; then again, I had only expected to set an appointment and get an estimate. Little did I know what a pleasant surprise was in store. Hugo sat down in the car, looked about, retrieved an instrument from a work bench, took some readings, and then set to work. Before I knew it, the problem had been fixed. I was back on the road in less than 30 minutes, having spent half of what the other shop quoted me for a diagnostic. One of the hardest things is finding a mechanic worthy of trust. My experience with Hugo was the kind that makes one a customer for life. read more

I took my car to Hugo's Auto Electric because my AC wasn't working. I got a quote from another business for $2,500, but the mechanics at Hugos Auto Electric discovered that the problem was a cable and repaired it for $100! My AC works well now, and I'm extremely grateful to Hugo for saving me thousands of dollars. My service was excellent, and I'll definitely return should other problems arise with my car. read more

I recommend Hugo! I went to Hugo today and unfortunately he said he doesn't work on European cars. However he gave me great advice about my car and said first replace the battery as it may solve your cars alternator and charging problems. He sent me to another shop that couldn't look at my car today, so I went home called AAA and had them replace my battery, and just like Hugo said, everything works fine! Hugo's advice saved me money! read more

I pulled in with my Corvette and they would not even look at it. I don't know who's giving Hugo all those 5 stars but they are not worth it! Go someplace else. read more

Fantastic Honest and Knows what they are doing here. Hugo and Pepé are the absolute best. Constantly busy here because of the value and honesty of these two men. Can not speak more highly of this shop. Call ahead or arrive right when they open because they stay working. I don't take my car to anybody else for anything. read more

Hugo's Electric is an honest business , unfortunately they were unable to service my car but did not charge and allowed my vehicle to stay there for a days until I could be towed . read more

Found this through yelp & was the best decision. I have been having issues with my headlights for months, turns out Pepboys messed up and somehow melted the wiring & other stuff. Within an hour, Hugo was able to replace wiring, headlight bulb, & even did headlight restoration for an incredible affordable price. Be warned, he's very sarcastic & humor. So if you don't like sarcasm you might think he's rude but he's not. He's awesome. Will be coming back!! read more

Hugo is just a pleasure to work with. He is truly a master of his craft and charges fairly. He saved me hundreds on getting my trick ready for smog by advising me to do only what was needed to pass. Other's had recommended extensive and expensive repairs. Hugo had me in and out for less than 100 bucks and it runs great. His specialty is auto electric but he can fix anything. read more

Hugo is the man. I bought a used VW Rabbit a few years back and when I did, they told me that they had taken the liberty of installing some HID headlights in the car. Cool, I thought to myself. Brighter lights are a good thing. FF to today and finally one of the bulbs goes out, or so I thought. The first place i took it to wouldn't even look at it. The second spot made me come back the next day and when I did, they told me that they only fix aftermarket HID's. Took it to Pep Boys and it was there that it was discovered that when they installed the light originally, they didn't mount the bulb with the correct locking ring. Instead they just decided to glue the bulb to the housing. Nightmare! Took my car to Hugo's this morning and even though he was busy, squeezed me in between jobs and handled all of this drama, mickey mouse tinkering, and madness dealing with this light for the last month and a half in less than an hour. He quickly figured out that it was the ballast/igniter module and hooked me up with a universal one. Light finally works fine & now I can sleep at night. I cannot express how thankful I am to this man for helping me out when all others wouldn't. read more

Hugo is simply the best. He is knowledgeable and informative. He did an incredible job replacing the instrument panel on my 1964 Ford Falcon. I'm grateful that there are mechanics like Hugo who really understand and appreciate real craftsmanship. He's honest and reasonable and if he can't fix it - he will tell you straight up. I'm so happy that I discovered Hugo on Yelp. His great reviews are well deserved. A+. read more

I got turned on to Hugo's by a co-worker who used him. I can't say enough good things about this Man. He was able to repair my daughters faulty wiring on an older model Lexus. I was told by the dealer that it would cost over $1000 to fix power windows. I remembered my friend saying go to him instead and boy was I glad I did. He fixed it for a fraction of the price and did it the same day no appointment needed. Do yourself a favor and go so Hugo! read more

It's true, Yelp never lets me down! I came to Hugo's because it had such great reviews on here, and was so happy I did! I came near closing because my window wouldn't roll up, and Hugo stayed late with his team and fixed the problem. I have a fussy VW and it was no easy task, but they were able to fix it and saved me a lot of money by replacing my broken door motor with a used one. Before coming here I was pretty skeptical about the integrity of mechanics, and really expected to get screwed. Hugo is a rare honest and fair mechanic. They do exist!! read more

Hugo is the Man!! I pulled up with an electrical due to Pacific Stereo's Inglewood and Culver City locations' shady overpriced work, which wasn't allowing me to have turn signals. He quickly diagnosed the issue and got me back on the road on less than an hour! I will definitely come back for future work! I have officially found my electrical guy! read more

Great service, the owner is very straightforward and does not waste time. The price was very fair and the service fast. Will come back.
