All for $101. Your typical car dealership that all they want to do is make the sell. Can you imagine what else the dealership does? Aaron who works at the dealership and had reached out to me after seeing the last Yelp review I wrote on this and said he would handle. He asked me to take down the Yelp review and I really thought this would be taken care within a week or so. So I did, rookie mistake, don't take down the Yelp review until the transaction has been completed. Lie 1 I purchased a 2018 Porsche Cayman 3yrs ago. At that time, I also purchased a warranty. I asked if it was a CPO warranty and was told it was. It wasn't, it was a 3rd party warranty they sold at the dealership. Another Porsche dealership I do highly regard in my home town said, "I wish places like this would not lie to the public." Lie 2 I sold the Cayman in January 2026 and cancelled the remaining warranty for my refund, ran out in November 2026. I didn't realize if you have a claim, they subtract that from the warranty amount you paid. Ok, learned something new, which leaves me with a balance of $101 to be refunded by the DEALERSHIP. For the last 6 weeks, Aaron has been in contact off and on staying that a check would be send to me. They sent me a text with the tracking number from FedEX, Aaron saying it would be sent over night. 4 days later I checked FedEX tracking number and all the dealership had done was enter the tracking number and never sent the check. Lie 3 Do they they even have a check for me? I'm also writing a Yelp review to their parent company Murgado In Miami, Florida. The #1 core value is, dedicated to serving our customers with honesty, integrity and professionalism. I will ask them to reach out to me so I can explain my stance and send texts I received. Obviously Motor Werks Honda does not practice this. And to think I mentioned to Aaron that I was looking to buy another Porsche. Never again, I'm done. read more

They told me it would cost 12,000 for an engine rebuild and new brake pads, and that was the only issue, everything else was fine. My report they gave me was missing 4-6 codes that was on my previous report from Honda Schaumburg, just 6 months prior. I know those issues did not just fix themselves. When I said 12,000 was too much and that I would rather just get another car, I felt pressured that their way was the only and best way. Thank goodness I made a call to a friend who ensured me local shops would do just as good and for a much fairer price, as they have had the experience with many local shops. Called them to get a price match for an A1 service that I usually get done at other dealership where I usually service my cars. Since I moved, I wanted to check if Motor Werks could honor the same price. I spoke with Jasmin from service department, explained everything clearly including that my usual dealer offered me a discounted price because I purchased the vehicle from them. She said "no problem". I then drove 8 miles to this location, only to be told at the desk, "we need to see the coupon" to match the price, something she never mentioned. When I tried to explain, I was brushed off. Eventually, the guy from the service called her and confirmed that she made a mistake. The manager agreed to partially honor the deal by doing only half the service. I declined, because I don't deal with dishonest or unprofessional behavior and this felt like both. Instead of owning the mistake and making things right, they chose to offer a half-solution and waste my time. On top of that, I wasted gas, and I lost my appointment with my regular dealership because I canceled it, thinking I had one here. There are three cars in my household and they just lost our business over saving $30. I won't be coming back, and I won't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Before Motorwerkes was sold it was an ok dealership, I live in Schaumburg and would drive by BOB ROHRMAN HONDA on my way to Motorwerkes. MW is now hiring service advisors that really shouldn't work at a bicycle shop. No follow up from the sevice advisors, they don't care, and that is pretty much the attitude from everyone you deal with at Motorwerkes. Motorwerkes employees are like the Honeybadger, "they don't give a shet!". I wil give an update after I take my car to other Honda dealers, I find it extremely hard to believe that a Honda Civic with 50,000 miles that was owned by a 79 year old woman could possibly need new TIE RODS for just under $1000. read more

I'm sorry I ever bought a vehicle at Motor Werks Honda. I just got my 2023 Odyssey back from the service department after an oil change and fluids check. I just tried the windshield fluid and yep, you guessed it, there was none. Not even a drop. When I spoke with Damla my service advisor, she apologized and offered me a free oil change next time I come back. She then told me that maybe my tech "didn't top it off." Top it off is a far cry from bone dry front and back. Being disabled and unable to get out and check to see what was done and what wasn't done shouldn't be my problem but thanks to Motor Werks Honda it is now. I told her Shame on your Service and I was rdirected to a nonfunctioning website that was supposed to explain everything. When that came up I sent it back to her and you guessed it...no response. Thank you Motor Werks of Barrington for demonstrating your lack of concern, your lack of caring, your unbelievable lousy service and most of all your overall lack of compassion for people with disabilities. For the first time ever , I was LIED to and treated with DISHONESTY at Motorwerks. On Monday 08/14/23 I spoke w Honda service advisor as I knew the 100k service is expensive and wanted to know the cost . He told me 833.57. At no time did he tell me there would be a 3% service charge for paying by credit card. I made an appt for Wednesday 08/16/23. When I dropped the car off he did not tell me they would be charging more than 833.57 and again no mention of a 3% service charge for paying by credit card. My first clue should have been only one other car in the service area at 7am when I arrived. One usually has to wait as its always been very busy first thing in the morning. After and only after the work had been performed was I told about a 3% service charge for credits cards and to my shock a higher price than what was quoted on Monday. Most people don't have 800.00+ dollars laying around . Had I been told this upfront , I would have waited til I had the cash. So basically my choices were to wait 4 weeks for the cash and have no car or pay their 3% fee . It was having my car held hostage. In the end my bill was 885.54 after a quote of 833.57 . A 51.97 difference ! It is slippery slope when dealerships lie to a customer. What else have they lied to me about ? Did they really do the services they billed me for ? Did they do them correctly ? I DO NOT TRUST THEM anymore. I've been coming here for over 20years and was never lied to or cheated before today. A web search after picking up my car explained everything. I recently brought my Civic in to be checked for a possible oil leak, a similar problem they looked at in November. I was told by the service advisor, Mr. Sosa, that a "dye" was put in the engine, to drive it till my next oil change and return to see if the leak could be found. After almost 800 miles of driving, I took the car to the dealer where I bought it, (McGrath), instead because I didn't like the way I was treated at Motor Werks. I think they were hoping to make big bucks off of me that day and showed no real concern for me and I could tell they couldn't wait for me to leave. I was told at McGrath, that there was not a drop of dye in the engine. As stated, Motor Werks told me to wait until my next oil change to bring it in, and when I told this to a family member who is a mechanic, he laughed. A few hundred is all that's usually needed to help pinpoint the problem. Another reason why I did not go back. I have called Mr. Sosa twice over the past two days now and also left two messages with the Manager, Jerry, (don't know how to spell his last name), and neither person has the courtesy or decency to call me back. Why was I told by the service advisor and another person at Motor Werks, that the dye was put in? Now we have to drive hundreds of more miles to see where the leak may be from, and go back. Thank God my oil leak is supposedly not that severe, and these incompetent people are not working on airplanes!!! I didn't buy my car there and for good reason as this is how people are treated there. See the other one-star reviews. I only took it there because it was the closest dealer, it is still under my extended warranty and was concerned about a potentially bigger problem and wanted it looked at immediately. I'd rather drive 45 minutes to McGrath Honda and be treated with dignity and courtesy, as a customer that has bought Hondas, and my family has from them too, for over 15 years. He apologized and wanted to make it right. He offered to have his best technicians look over my car more thoroughly to find out what was wrong, and to go out of their way to win back my trust with future service. We recently bought a vehicle from this dealership & the sales associate BRAD HERIC was not the way to go. (Even thought twice in the process to ask for a different sales person & should have) No customer service skills, condescending, ignorant, rude, and could go on and on ...... There were a few items to wrap up a few days later with an IOU and title switching that would be dropped off at my work. Long story short didn't go well and BRAD showed up to finish the transaction & he showed even more of his true colors in his behavior representing himself and the dealership. After walking away from him as the conversation was over he continued to follow me in my office and was ranting and being very ignorant. In turn I had to call his dealership to basically say if he didn't leave I would have to call the police for harassment. FRAUD!! After checking out a car with the sales rep Anna Marie I decided that I needed more time to think about the purchase. I was clear that I didn't want my credit run. Without consent they ran my credit twice. I spoke with the GM and have initiated getting the credit check reversed. I will edit my review upon the reversal once it is completed. Dealership staff was pleasant enough to deal with, only issue is that there is a $1,000 extra charge for some sort of chemical coating that is supposed to protect the interior of the car from spills which is entirely unnecessary for many buyers and there is no way to remove it. On Saturday I called inquiring about an Acura MDX they have for sale, they stated that the car was in for detail and would be available Monday morning. I called at 9:01 this morning to tell them I was on the way to make a deposit, and while on the phone got a text from a sales person asking if I was still interested in the car. I immediately responded yes I'll take it. Then we proceeded to text all morning he was asking if I was financing and I said can you please just answer the question on how can I execute this deal. He informed me that the managers were in a meeting and he will get right back to me. He came back and over quoted the car by $1000 and added $2200 in fees of which one of them was a $1450 for ceramic coating for the paint and the seats which I did not ask for. I called them back and they said I have a screenshot with the stock number for the car being 28,900 and I do not wish to purchase the services of the ceramic coat painting. miraculously two minutes later he called me and he said that somebody out of state purchased the vehicle at that point i became irate and I said you're only doing this because you can sell the car for $1000 more. I actually drove to the location and spoke to the general manager in which he told me he would do an investigation. He told me he would get back to me by 12:30, and didn't get back to me until 230 and said they took a deposit on the car at 8:51 this morning, but yet the dealership opens at 9 AM. I Explained to them I'm a local resident why would he sell the car to an out-of-state person especially when I was after the car since Saturday afternoon. Had to redo the oil & filter again in less than 3-months by my own mechanic...my mechanic said the oil and filter could not have been changed as the oil color could not be this dark after only 3 months. I was duped into buying a warranty that I can't use.. The vehicle that I purchased had an after market super charger installed previous to me purchasing the vehicle. The salesman talked me into buying the extended warranty for an additional $3,000 because not many places would offer such with the modification of the super charger. I accepted and purchased the extended warranty...stupid me. Fast forward 6 months and my truck is having transmission issues. I took it to an authorized Chevy dealership so they can look into it for me but upon noticing the supercharger they said there is nothing that can be done and everything would be out of pocket. I've called numerous times and I keep getting the "let me look into it and I'll call you back". Avoid getting scammed by purchasing their extended warranty that you can't use. read more

I was going to buy a used honda from them under the condition it was certified pre-owned. This certification includes a carfax report, which I had to ask for. Suprise! It was in an accident. Also, my copy of the checklist from the inspection was conveniently missing the manager acknowledgement signature. I had to ask for that as well. We finally cut a deal, and then they tell me I need to sign an "arbitration agreement" = give up my right to take them to court with a lawsuit... yeah right... what a huge waste of time. Any actual customers know that Motorwerks is one giant building with all the different brands - has one giant service center, etc. Whatever the case - I feel strongly enough to repost specifically Under HONDA, where we PURCHASED OUR VEHICLE**** January 2016: We purchased a vehicle there two weeks ago. I am giving 2 stars for the facility itself, because it is impressive in a small city sort of way, and for the food they leave out on a Saturday which really came in handy since we were stuck there 4 hours for what could have been a relatively quick sale. I have two issues with this place - and do wish I would have consulted yelp like I normally do because i see the lackluster reviews and would have been more prepared. We purchased a 2 year old Odyssey van. We already knew what we were buying, didn't have to be sold. We drove an hour to see the van, and said ok we will take it in probably 20 min or less (so long as we can agree on numbers)....(because we have already researched, test driven multiple times etc)... It started off that simply. During this viewing of the van, we were told they thoroughly inspect every trade in vehicle and that this was actually one of their managers trade in's (although we have heard this line before). ISSUE #1: Their supposed 'inspection' process for trade in's and the quality of the vehicle. My husband had concern over the tread left on the tires - they didn't look great. We were assured by the sales manager, that they had 50% tread left. Also there was a tire sensor on - (weird if it had been inspected).... Again sales manager chimed in that it was nothing - just changes in air temperature would trigger that. We have had an Infiniti in the past that did this so we were willing to accept that answer AFTER they checked it out officially. We had to push for this to happen. This is what ended up taking us the whole afternoon as we waited for this. It turns out there was a nail in the tire and it was low so the sensor was doing its JOB. I was thankful I didn't drive off with my 2 year old down the highway and have an issue! So they patched the tire. Did not love this but accepted it. My husband should have followed his gut and pushed this issue. We are leaving on a road trip (in said van) and had the tires checked to be sure they'd be ok. We were told that 3 out of 4 tires had 14% tread remaining at most and needed replacement! THANKS MOTORWERKS for lying to our face, and costing ANOTHER $900 in new tires!. Next, as we are finally driving home, 4:30 or so on a Saturday, my husband notices after we are on the highway - that a brake light is out. COME ON. We just spent $33k on a vehicle for first the tire, then no brake light?! Not to mention, we again live an hour away and had to go to a dealer near us that week to fix that - thankfully under warranty - but still ate a half day of our time. Last, one month after purchasing the vehicle, the van starts shaking as we brake. You guessed it - a total break job needed! ANOTHER $800! What a terrible 'inspection' process! ISSUE #2: We go to leave - basically they walk us through the van to make sure we know how to use the basics and they can only find one of the keys. So great. Our salesman told us he would overnight it right away. WHY ARE WE SO STUPID to believe this? It has been two weeks and NO KEY. NO TRACKING #. Repeated excuses. The keys are COSTLY and we are in a time crunch trying to leave town with what we are OWED. After repeated excuses, we looked at the staff list on the website last night and emailed the person who appeared to be in charge of everything. No response today. Im sure he has 'bigger problems' to attend to if this is the way they run their shop but I am at a loss. So disappointed in what could have been and should have been, a simple process. At this point I don't know what to do to solve this issue? Drive an hour and sit in their facility until they find my key? or make me a new one? Or? Again the stars I gave for this review is based only on the nice BUILDING and free food while you wait on the weekend. So unhappy otherwise! Buyer beware if you are looking at a used car there - maybe brand new is different / better / etc but we spent a lot of money (at least to us!) and I would have hoped and expected to have a better experience. We would have NEVER, I repeat NEVER purchased this car if they were honest and if we had any idea we would have to put basically an extra $2000 of work in to it pretty much immediately after purchasing. read more

Speaking in foul ways about African Americans as well as mocking Indians. Was completely turned off. Total shame because the salesmen were so professional and helpful. Friday Feb 3rd 2023 at about 230pm I went to Motor works Honda in Barrington. I was greeted by Liz R who was extremely professional, wonderful to deal with. I was told about the "one and only plan" where I was supposed to only deal with one person from start to finish, shopping, sale, finance, etc. I kinda liked it versus going to 5 different people, but after being explained the "one and only" plan, that is where everything began to be a horrible experience. That's because "Geno" the used car sales manager just happened to pop on by to introduce himself. After a few moments and "Geno" leaving, Liz R asked my opinion about purchasing the vehicle. I told her that I was very interested in the vehicle and stated that I would like to see what the dealership would do if I wanted to take delivery of the car today, I even sated that I had financing and that I would put 1-2 thousand down as well. "Best price" for today I stated....lets do business, my daughter likes the car. Well- the "best price" that came back from Geno was asking price along with taxes, title, plates etc..... AND a wonderful addition of over $2200 dollars in fees that included a documentation fee (I get it...they all have it) AND a paint and interior protection plan. That's what Geno sent back. Needless to say I was not pleased. Liz R took the 1900 plus off for the protection package, but still only offered me the asking price, plus tax. After speaking about some things I observed needing attention on the car, II then offered a different sum $1K less than asking with 2K down today and that I would bring a check back for the rest from the credit union and take delivery of the car ether that day or when I bring the check in. Well I guess I displeased "Geno" with this offer. As I was sitting there waiting for Liz R to come back, I heard what I thought was someone moving or dragging a chair across the dealership floor, well it wasn't. It was Geno the "used car sales manager" dragging a sign from th doorway of the dealership to Liz R desk that advertised the "one and only experience" advertisement, and in a true showing of "unprofessionalism" pointed kind of arrogantly at the sign and then where it stated "one price". It was almost like he was attempting to embarrass me or intimidate me. Mind you - the one person experience was explained, not the one price. Then, "Geno" started to take over, basically removing Liz R from the sale. He just sat down in Liz R chair and disregarded her is if she wasn't there. I kept speaking to Liz as she was my sales person, but Geno kept interrupting. It got o the point to where I walked to the next area to get Liz R a chair to sit in because he left her standing. He then began to state that its one price and that's it and showed me some site that says he was the number 2 priced car for this vehicle in 300 miles and that he doesn't have to deal. Geno also didn't like when I stated that if it's the one experience, why I am speaking to two people about the vehicle. Rather than get in some sort of argument, I took my money and looked elsewhere for a car. I will NEVER be going to Motor Werks of Barrington for any reason, not even an oil change. Sorry Geno,, barging your way in on your salesperson and taking over even though you tout the "one and only" experience is just plain unprofessional and micro-managing. And taking the chair at your employee's desk and making her stand so the customer gets her a chair!!!!!!.......unreal. You didn't exactly get the message when I kept speaking Liz R even though you kept interrupting. The best part was that "Geno" called me the next day to see if I was still interested in the car and that he sent it out to address some concerns I had about it. Taking sales away from your salesperson too?! Liz should me the manager. She had more class and professionalism than her so called "manager". Never again read more
