    If I could give them a no star review I would. Shady AF!! In April we bought our son his car for his graduation from college. Our 2nd purchase from them. Down payment as gift and he pays the rest. Clean car, single owner and maintained by them. Looked like the perfect fit. It came with a 6 mo, 6000 mile warranty. The car was driven 1006 miles before we noticed after a drive the car would smoke. Appeared to be a valve cover gasket with a drip the would hit the exhaust manifold and burn off. Oil level reads fine, no warning lights. Called them and my dealer put me in touch with the service dept. They advised me they need to diagnose the problem and submit it to the warranty company. I would have to pay for a tow. They also advised I would not be covered as in the "breakdown clause" gaskets are not covered although technically the car is not broken down. Talked with my dealer again who agreed it has to be diagnosed in order to submit it and I need to get it in. I confirmed the "warranty" is good at any BMW dealer or ASE shop. I have a BMW dealer a mile from the house safe enough to drive it there with no worry. My diagnosis was spot on. No only did they find that but advised it needs a belt and recomends brakes. OVER $4000 worth of work. The car was 15K. They also confirmed the warranty denied the claim. Warranty is not worth the paper it is printed on!!! And although my dealer said Motor Werks would make it right in the end today I was informed "I'm on my own for the bill." I have had quite a few cars in my life and never have had anything major fail with only 55K miles on it. BMW should be embarrassed. I should have looked here first and seen the overall majority of the reviews are 1 star. Mark it up to tuition and a costly lesson learned. Motor Werks has zero reputability and no honor in the products they sell. Proof in documents provided below.

    For the first time ever , I was LIED to and treated with DISHONESTY at Motorwerks. On Monday 08/14/23 I spoke w Honda service advisor Evans as I knew the 100k service is expensive and wanted to know the cost . He told me 833.57. At no time did he tell me there would be a 3% service charge for paying by credit card. I made an appt for Wednesday 08/16/23. When I dropped the car off he did not tell me they would be charging more than 833.57 and again no mention of a 3% service charge for paying by credit card. My first clue should have been only one other car in the service area at 7am when I arrived. One usually has to wait as its always been very busy first thing in the morning. After and only after the work had been performed was I told about a 3% service charge for credits cards and to my shock a higher price than what was quoted on Monday. Most people don't have 800.00+ dollars laying around . Had I been told this upfront , I would have waited til I had the cash. So basically my choices were to wait 4 weeks for the cash and have no car or pay their 3% fee . It was like having my car held hostage. In the end my bill was 885.54 after a quote of 833.57 . 51.97 higher than the original quote , and had they applied the 10% coupon (83.33 more off ) for a total difference of 135.30 ! It is slippery slope when dealerships lie to a customer. What else have they lied to me about ? Did they really do the services they billed me for ? Did they do them correctly ? I DO NOT TRUST THEM anymore. I've been coming here for over 20years and was never lied to or cheated before today. A web search after picking up my car explained everything. They are UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP. I WILL NEVER BRING MY CAR HERE AGAIN.

    On September 23, 2021 I purchased a S550 from Motor Werks of Barrington, that following weekend I tried to active the MBRACE service and after 5 calls over 3 days it was determined that I needed to bring the car in to be programmed. It was at that moment my NIGHTMARE began. While there for service they damaged my bumper. You will notice on the 3 pictures attached, that when the car was purchased it had NO damage to the bumper. The car is garage kept so there's not opportunity for the bumper to be damaged, when your service dept returned the vehicle to me the first thing I noticed when walking to it was that the front license place was crooked. This caused me to take a closer look. It was at that point I discovered that damage to the bumper. When I pointed out this damage to Stephen, he replied we take videos of every car when it comes in to note any damage. My reply was GREAT! LETS ROLL TAPE!!, surprise surprise, the video on showed the sides and back of the vehicle! The front of the vehicle "somehow" got deleted, when I complained to my sales rep BRIAN he walked down with me and spoke to Stephen who replied "don't worry we'll make it right! I drove the car home because I didn't have time to leave it, that weekend it got cold out and now I discovered that the HEAT also doesn't work! I know it's a USED VEHICLE, but you would think in my paying $40,000 that there would be a expectation that the heat would work. When I mentioned this to Stephen he replied "It was intermittent" I'm no master mechanic but I do know if the heater core (which needed to be replaced) was bad it would just be bad and NOT Intermittent. I paid the $662 but wasn't happy about it! When I asked him if he saw the repairs to the bumper he replied that he sent me a photo. I told him I never received a photo, and showed him the text he sent advising me the car was ready. He then said you have to open the link to see the photo. (how would I know to do that and that a photo was attached?) when I opened the photo, MUCH TO MY DISMAY it looked like Sh.t and I told him exactly that! His reply was "Well it's looks better that it did".

    I called Amin Smith, the financial services manager at Motor Werks Auto Group, on 4 occasions leaving messages in hopes of signing up a few extended warranty vehicle contracts. He never returned any of my calls. If this is how Amin Smith treats new sales, then I'd hate to see how he treats customers with actual issues.

    Took my 2009 car with 47,104 miles on it for a route oil change. Once they got the car in the shop…read morethey took it apart and took me it needed $5,831 worth of repairs. I asked for my car back and they told me that they would not release the car to me. I insisted and they still won't give me my car. I wanted to take the car for a second opinion but they refused to let me have the car. I said I needed to think about it so they took me home, I went to my usual repair shop and showed him the pictures they sent me and he said everything looked fine and that I was being scammed, it's called "Predatory Behavior". Preying on the elderly with older cars. Called told them later that day and told them not to do anything to the car I would pick it up in first thing in the morning. When I got there they said that they assumed I wanted them to repair it so they started replacing things. I never signed anything giving them authorization to work on the car. They said they needed time to put the car back together. Several phone calls later they told me that the bill would be $3169 worth of repairs to my very low milage car that looks new. When I went to pick up the car they told me that they had already installed the new parts so I had to pay for the repairs even though I told them not to do the repairs. This company claims to be a Christian based company but I am really skeptical. I would not go to this company for any kind of automotive repairs, just my opinion. I complained to them to no avail. For the record I collect and restore antique cars so I know a little bit about cars, there assumed I was just an senile old man

I took their suggestions when going through the huge list of options, but I was told some accessories had to be installed at the dealership and did not arrive at the same time as the vehicle. When the mechanics went to install my Trailer Camera package, they realized that we had ordered the truck with trailer camera mirrors and the Trailer Camera package also ordered had them as well. So, when looking into returning them for the correct package, GM would not return them since it was 30 days past the delivery date. This was an obvious mistake by the sales team and all I wanted was to return the $1,800 package and order the $700 one that was all I needed. After numerous calls, visits and emails, even to the owner, I was completely given the runaround and finally ignored. Now almost a year later, I've given up on the dealership, filed a complaint with GM, which was sent to Marquardt by GM, but was never acted upon. I can with great confidence declare that Marquardt GMC and their entire team are truly the pinnacle of what they advertise "Expect, honesty, integrity and transparency." Frankly, in their quest for professionalism and value for the customer they exceed all expectations. I say this after a lifetime of experience in buying cars as I approach age 70. Please know it's a smaller, family run type businesses. Note that is has successfully been in business since 1950. That is a testament that they are truly best in class at all that they do. The buying process always seem long, but they go through the effort to make you feel at home, address every concern with care and consideration and make the process comfortable and enjoyable in contrast to the adversarial approach others often take. My wife and I genuinely appreciate the blessings to have found this place, the people, and so happy with our new GMC Hummer Pickup. I can't speak highly enough about Dave (Sales Mgr) and Tim M, Sales Associate. Thank you very much for the experience, the vehicle and all of the continued support.

Very disappointing as the front end of the sale was good but the lack of follow thru and dishonest answers will prevent us from returning. ** We had a great experience buying a car recently from Kevin. The dealership was busy yet we were greeted quickly and on a test drive within 10 minutes. They were also very accommodating with a couple of special requests we had.     This is in regards to the service department at McGrath Volvo in Barrington…read more I had a very poor experience with the service department at McGrath Volvo, specifically working with Mark Kuzinar and his manager, Dariusz Wieczorkiewicz. My vehicle was kept for several months with minimal and inconsistent communication. During this time, I was told that the warranty company had been contacted a few times regarding the necessary repairs. However, after experiencing repeated delays, I contacted the warranty company directly and was informed that no contact had been made when he stated he did, nor had any explanation for the repairs been submitted so ultimately, they denied my claim. I was ultimately presented with a $14,000+ repair estimate, with no clear justification or progress toward warranty approval. The overall experience felt disorganized and lacked transparency or customer advocacy. At what point do you stand behind Volvos good name? After transferring my vehicle to another Volvo dealership, the warranty was approved and the repairs were completed within one week, confirming that the issue was not the vehicle but how it was handled. Overall service department lacks professionalism and accountability. They saw a job that wasn't going to make them any additional money and plan old didn't want to do the job so he used everything in his power to deter me from fighting to get it done at McGrath Volvo. To add insult to injury, the other Volvo dealership I took it to for service stated that the suspension is messed up, struts and bearings were shot too, the motor mounts were left off and a coolant leak. So basically they sabotaged my car because upon bringing it there, the inspection said there was no suspension issues or coolant leaks. Due to the lack of communication, follow-through, and professionalism, I cannot recommend the service department at McGrath Volvo and would advise others to proceed with caution and not go here and save yourself a headache. During this whole process, the service was extremely rude and dismissive.

Aaron who works at the dealership and had reached out to me after seeing the last Yelp review I wrote on this and said he would handle. He asked me to take down the Yelp review and I really thought this would be taken care within a week or so. So I did, rookie mistake, don't take down the Yelp review until the transaction has been completed. Lie 1 I purchased a 2018 Porsche Cayman 3yrs ago. At that time, I also purchased a warranty. I asked if it was a CPO warranty and was told it was. It wasn't, it was a 3rd party warranty they sold at the dealership. Another Porsche dealership I do highly regard in my home town said, "I wish places like this would not lie to the public." Lie 2 I sold the Cayman in January 2026 and cancelled the remaining warranty for my refund, ran out in November 2026. I didn't realize if you have a claim, they subtract that from the warranty amount you paid. Ok, learned something new, which leaves me with a balance of $101 to be refunded by the DEALERSHIP. For the last 6 weeks, Aaron has been in contact off and on staying that a check would be send to me. They sent me a text with the tracking number from FedEX, Aaron saying it would be sent over night. 4 days later I checked FedEX tracking number and all the dealership had done was enter the tracking number and never sent the check. Lie 3 Do they they even have a check for me? I'm also writing a Yelp review to their parent company Murgado In Miami, Florida. The #1 core value is, dedicated to serving our customers with honesty, integrity and professionalism. I will ask them to reach out to me so I can explain my stance and send texts I received. Obviously Motor Werks Honda does not practice this. And to think I mentioned to Aaron that I was looking to buy another Porsche. Never again, I'm done.

    *1 Year After Purchase Review*…read more I had been in the market to buy a Porsche of some sorts, I couldn't figure out which one met my needs. The 911 is too sporty and not an ideal daily driver, the Cayenne's fuel economy is atrocious, the Panamera felt like a boat to me, but I had finally came across a model that fit my needs.... 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo in Rhodium Silver. This car had every option Macans from that year came with including Sport Chrono and Sport Exhaust (Rare on the 2015 macans). I purchased the car under the understanding that it would be similar to my previous vehicle (2017 MB C63S Sedan) yet everything I've tried to compare I enjoy more in my new car. From the jump, the car is VERY fast, not only that I have since installed an aftermarket Cobb Tuning device and custom ECU Map. My Macan was doing 0-60 in around 4 seconds prior, and is now closer to 3.3 seconds. Absolutely nuts. Anyway, that being said, I would assume my car would break a fair bit and what not because it's a sporty car, but no! No gimmicks, no scams, A+ car off the lot. I've owned the car since January 2023 and we're going on January 2024, I need to change my break pads soon. Other then that I've had an issue with the High Pressure Fuel Pump which took me 3 hours, $200, and some wrenching away to fix. Awesome! I love how these cars are designed without a million quirks and you can perform simple service yourself! Another small issue was I had blown my coolant reservoir, not to worry, I found one for $30 and was able to swap it in 15 minutes! This car has done me nothing but right so far and I'm very happy I chose this dealership to purchase with! Don't waste your time with other dealerships selling junk cars. This place is epic! My salesperson Ian was on point, very nice, professional, and even lowered the price by about $1,000 or so which in todays day and age is pretty commonly known that that is a chunk of the salesman's commission. We need more salespeople willing to get someone out the door happy, over trying to milk people for that extra $500-$1000. It was a very nice experience from the second I sat down and at no point did I feel pressured to purchase the vehicle that day, I chose to which was a very nice feeling. Overall this dealership is a very nice one, and I recommend giving them a try over anyone!

    We recently had our 2021 Porsche Panamera serviced at Porsche Barrington for a documented…read morecold-weather front suspension noise. The noise issue was resolved under warranty, and we appreciate that. However, during the repair it was noted that both front axle shafts were seized due to corrosion and were reused. We had reasonable questions about long-term reliability, including whether spline conditioning, anti-seize application, and hub bearing inspection were performed to prevent repeat failure as none of this was documented on the paperwork we received. Our concern was not about the immediate repair. It was about future durability once the vehicle is out of warranty. When we contacted the dealership to ask for clarification, both Kevin Sutor, the service advisor and Frank Farenzena, the service manager were dismissive. Rather than addressing the technical concerns directly or offering documentation, the conversation became defensive with Frank ending the call abruptly. We were not requesting free work or disputing the repair outcome. We were asking reasonable, informed questions about preventative measures on a premium vehicle. The repair may meet minimum technical standards, but the handling of legitimate customer concerns did not reflect the level of professionalism we expect from a Porsche dealership. We hope management will review this matter and ensure future customers who ask informed questions are met with transparency and respect.
